it's ok, i guess. i need to re-paint the whole thing at some point anyway. i think i'll get a quote on how much it'll cost to remove the stripe all-together.

this also means i can pick out a new stripe pattern from james dean! oh, the options!

Save yourself some money and remove it yourself. Heat-gun + old credit card + bug and tar remover = more $$ for beer(of the root variety of course)
Wait till the weather gets warmer consistently and it will make removal easier. Also, you will have fade marks where the sticker used to be, a buffing could help but its likely the paint under the stripe has been protected for years from the UV and will be a different shade then the rest of the truck.

it's funny because i just found my heat-gun this weekend. the thing is, i'm a bit nervous about taking that much heat to the paint. i don't want to damage what's already there. i'm not opposed to doing it myself, and i know we'll have some good warm weekends, too.

also, i think it'd look neat with a "ghost" stripe on the side.

If you take it somewhere, they are going to do the same thing(heat-gun). It's not as risky as you think, i can definitely give you a hand and some pointers.

Awesome! I am definitely going to try to make it. Thanks for the link.

Yeah I remember that it fell through, I just didn't know if it ever got rescheduled or anything.

dude that's why you only ever take you truck to the coin op and DIY... or else one of those places that does hand wash... sure it costs a buck or two more but I think you'll agree it's worth it...

btw how'd you like the tunes?

yes indeed. my stripes won't be for a long time, though. and looking over the years of the diferent trucks, i kinda like '93 the best. i dunno, maybe i'm just biased...

trailer wiring box bracket

Does it go in the Trailer or the truck?

Thanks

my trailer wiring is a bit funked up (by design)

that box goes on the truck-side of things. the two all-thread rods go through the holes in the bumper.

there's another box that goes on the trailer. both of the boxes interface with each-other, and each box can interface with a different tow vehicle/trailer combination

here's the box (before the black paint) on the truck

you can see the 7-pin receptacle on the side of the box there

this post is not relevant to anything i'm doing now. it's just a collection of links saved in different locations that i get tired of searching for. the link to this post will be on the front of this build thread.
