Yep, I hear ya on the shifter bushings... Hmmm, I got mine in 2 days from Marlin... Is that where you got em? I felt a lil creepy paying 22$ for one bushing for the main/trans shifter... but MEH, it works GREAT, well worth every penny! lol

Yeah, white lithium is the stuff.. And I actually got some "Aisin-Clutch Grease" with my kit, lol..... so I just used what they gave me, ya know? It was white lithium dyed pink, hahahaha. (wait, I think it was pink, ...hmmm)

Cool, well, can't wait to see you "On the Road Again!" lol.

yeah, marlin. i got the t-case seat and the small trans shifter bushing from them, and the trans seat from philbert (he got extra by mistake)

one question: for the seat cavity, there is a rubber o-ring in the bottom. wondering if that goes in with the seat or what.

here's the pic, but it's removed, sitting up-right:

Honestly, Ian? I'ma have to look back through my thread.... I don't remember installing a rubber bushing with those seats. As long as the breathers are good/it isn't over filled, ..... it shouldn't be a problem, and yet, I don't wanna say "those aren't needed"...

Hopefully someone will chime in for ya before I have time to look that up. It might be in a marlin thread based on the same product/installs??? Not sure.

One thing I CAN tell you.... You HAVE to START those bushings by inserting them TOP-END-DOWN, then pivot them into place(it's a bit of a nudge, but they go in).... Know what I mean?

Hahaha.... No, it's not hard, it's just that I didn't read that thing, and I was trying to 'slide it by' the pins and under to fit.... Suddenly it just hit me, .... and it got slapped in. THEN, I saw all the info, hahaha. You know, one of 'THOSE' moments, lol.

Ian, I noticed you are replacing the shifter seat in the transfer case as well. I got a set for both shifters from Marlin but could never find any write up info on doing the transfer case. I wondering if there's any difficulty in removing the transfer shifter. Is it push down twist left or something? And you don't need a bushing on the bottom of that shifter as you do with the 5 speed? That part seems weird. The package from Marlin is resting comfortably in my glove compartment 'til I remember to buy white lithium grease. Mine came from Marlin in about two days ...several months ago.

t-case shifter removal: when you get to the bottom of the lever (ie- all boots out of the way), you'll see a "c" clip. take a pair of needle-nose pliers and pull it out. it's easy to visualize once you see it

and yes, there is a seat for both the trans and t-case shifters
