Daystar kit for 4th gen: your feedback

Daystar kit for 4th gen: your feedback
If you have used a 2.5" Daystar front lift for 4th gen 4runner, please let us know if the stock upper A-arms touch the coil spring at full droop, with/without full steering turn. And how are the ball joints? How many off-road miles did your Daystar go through till now?
Thanks
Thanks

Oh my goodness ... look, the simple answer is NO. As many people told you in the other threads where you asked about aftermarket upper a-arms, they are not necessary with the Daystar/Revtek kits or really any kit depending on the amount of time you'll be spending off-road and the situations you'll be getting in. Nonetheless, the only reason you'd need UCAs with the Daystar kit is if you want more travel, and in that case, just take the sway bar off because otherwise, if you get the UCA, you'll also need longer front shocks to accomodate the extra travel.
But no, the stock upper arms DO NOT TOUCH THE COIL SPRING. The ball joints are just fine. Please, Rishi, if you have questions like these and you're serious about wanting to know the answer (and it is obvious you don't want to listen to the answers people have already given you on these issues lately), then do a search for information on 4th gen. lifts here at yotatech.
Plenty of us have run the Daystar/Revtek kits for years now WITHOUT ISSUE.

Re-read this thread that you started wherein bulldog specifically states that no, there are no issues with the upper arm hitting the coils when a Daystar kit is installed. He also says that Daystar results in more downtravel than Revtek, so it can again be affirmed that the Revtek kit works just fine as well:

And then this thread which you also started wherein Lance answers the same question again:

Here are some more links for you, PLEASE read through them and note the fact that no one mentioned having ANY problems with the Daystar or Revtek kits.

Tracy, I've been slowly compiling links but damn! you really have some skills there
Rishi, you are right next to Bulldog-Yota. Just go wheel with him at Hollister and have some fun man.
The internet isn't the dirt, you have to go out and wheel a bit to see what's gonna work for you. You're not going to break anything your truck isn't made of glass.
Things will look different after you pop your cherry.

OK, OK... Don't take that out of context. The Daystars have been great. 30K miles and I only needed to tighten the spacer bolts once (after the first 5k). They have been tight every time I've checked them since (every oil change). I haven't changed or modified anything else on my front suspension, so doing just the spacer lift will be just fine. For a mild lift, they are great !
And just to show that I'm not completely biased, I suspect the Revteks are in much the same league.
Good luck,
Steve

My take on this.... if you don't have xreas then don't bother using spacers... Just go for the real deal and get some OME's!!! The ride quality is MUCH better compared to spacers!
Plus the fact that it's not much more and you get a better bang for your buck.
as for UCA's: Most people don't even get this expensive piece of aftermarket part because it's not required. It's only useful if you really offroad a lot and want to burn through your back pocket faster. The UCA is definitely not your best bang for the buck in the mod market. You're better off getting coilovers or something else for the best bang for the buck. The same applies to panhard bar/diff drop... both of which I personally think it's not needed for us 4th genners.

Rishi, you coming tomorrow to Hollister???
Answers to your questions:
Yes it did touch on the driver side, but only when the 4Runner was on jackstands. WIth the swaybar on it will prevent the strut from fully extending and touching. Even driving without the sway bar it didn't touch.
My balls joints are fine.
18k miles on the Daystar and more trip than I can remember. DId just fine in Death Valley, Pismo jumping dunes and so forth.
Now read what other people wrote. Then pack your stuff and get your a$$ down to Hollister tomorrow. At the rate you are going the only lift and wheel upgrade you will need is for your mouse
Come out and lets see what the OME junk does and I can give you feedback on the Daystar as well. The best way to find out the good, the bad and the ugly of the 4Runner is to put it through its paces.

Since it seems that you have posted about this issue more than once (by everyone else's response) I will throw my $.02 in as well...
No issues with Daystar spacers and my 4Runner has been off-road numerous times, just serious enough not to cause body damage.
