Question BJs and shackles

I've been looking at this stuff and I'm thinkin about it pretty hard but i want some input from you guys. I was looking at getting some ball joint spacers and some rear downey springs for my 94 pickup. This should allow me to clear 33's right? Also, would I need any other hardware with this setup? Thanks in advance.

Depending on the tire width and the wheel width and offset, you may be able to fit the tires with just that lift, or you may need a little extra:

Hey thanks for the link. Im thinking if I get the 3" Downey springs and the spacers that I would not need a block lift. I'm sure a lot of poeple are running a similar setup so I'll keep searching the sites

Like Roger said, it all depends on the wheel/tire width & offset. I had rubbing with 33's even after a 4-inch lift.

Yes, a guy in my club had a 4" SuperLift kit on his '92 pickup, 33x12.50s on 3.5" b/s 8" rims and he rubbed, had to add a body lift to clear the tires (2"). With some/all of the 4" lift kits, you need to run a wheel with around 3.5" backspacing (to clear the lift components) and then if you also go to a wider wheel and wider tire, you end up with a much wider stance. But that increases the size of the arc that the tire sweeps while steering and the more likelyhood of rubbing. Another guy in the club has a '94 pickup, 4.75" backspaced rims, 1" body lift and torsion bar crank/1" lift shackles and he clears 33s:

Thanks guys. I was looking for some 33x10.5's the other day. I guess if I'm rubbing a lot I can just get some wheels with more backspacing. Thanks again for the info.

I went with the 33x10.5's an couldn't be happier--no rubbing and better gas mileage on the freeway with the 4.88s.
