Do you still have the dizzy from the old motor? If you still can't get it to go, maybe you can try the old one in he new block?

I did change the dizzy and that didn't help. it seems to want to start when it;s retarted way past the #1 post. I am going back out to try a few more things.

It is working nicely for me haven't work for months. I could get used to this if I could find some way to keep money in the bank and still stay at home.....

I was ready to throw the thing in the trash tell it started to tease me about starting.

Well guys I think that might be it. I was cranking her over and she was right there then I heard a metal click (like something breaking) and the cranking slowed. now the started sounds very labored. I have a really hard time getting it to turn over by hand. Me think there are now broken rings or bearings.

It is a fresh rebuild.....I pull the timing cover and found the left cam had moved 3 teeth. I removed the belt to find the crank turns over just fine, the right cam just fine. the left cam no move.....hummm sucked a valve? broke a shim?? F-IT I am hauling to the storage shed and installing a 22re in my 95....

that was the plan!! I even filled the tank with jet fuel
I am thinking it's a bent valve, I don't know how it could just jump some teeth...I can't afford to have the head rebuild. guess it's time to pull out the and make some motor mounts for a 22-re.

I'll get right on that some time after school....I don't have the funds to rebuild a head. I got all my cash tied up in moving and tuition. I have 3 runners one with a bad front axle but a strong 22-re and 2 with bad 3.0's so I am going to fab up some mounts and make it work......

I pulled the valve cover and there is no signs of anything wrong. all the bearing still have grease and all the shims are intact. looks like it's time to pull the head.
