you cant spin the cam by hand? but the motor spins freely by hand? then theres a leak or a bent valve somewhere the crank should be hard to spin by hand

 

Can't turn cam but with a socket and a 1/2" drive I can get the crank to turn over.....guess I'll pull the head and inspect for bent valves. I spent a ton having them rebuilt!!!!!

 

No problem buddy. Good luck w/whatever you decide to do. Especially if you try to mod some motor mounts. Did you also read the issue w/the tranny?

The 3VZ is a non-interference engine, even without a belt you should not have bent valves.

well I am at a loss as to the problem. the thing was turning over just fine was just about started then comes a funny noise and it won't turn over now.

dc they are not a inter motor but he did shave the heads and plained the block WITH OUT a bigger head gasket thats where i think he hit but nit bad just a little tink and its over thats why i say i think he bent a valve

check out all the vlaves very closly and see if there anything out of the wrong in there a seal could have failed and got stuck in there or anything else at the same time!

 

I got the head off, there is no damage to any of the valves. I did find the cam was not centered. I had a line bore done (machine shop said I needed it) and it looks like they F-ED it up. the cam has chewed the hell out of the front bearing and also the rear. there are grooves so deep I can feel them with my nail.....

 

ouch!!!! take it back to them and tell them they fed it up and have them fix it now!!!!!

 

Yeah I'm going to....In the mean-time I need to get this pig running. I got a set of heads with ~160 k they didn't smoke so I might throw me on tell this all gets worked out.

115 in the garage, same here and i just waxed the entire black beast, fock im melting..... anyway, im glad you found out what happened, so tomorrow you gonna do the head swap and start it right up, right????????
