Again nothing in the front of this 2001 taco is the same as a 1986-1995 4unner

Great news guys. The truck is all Faby's now! I'm gonna have to get a custom sticker made for her back window that says "I'ma YotaTech girl!" Nah jk. But its all hers now. I'm so happy for her. About damn time. Shes been without a car for almost 3 years now. We're gonna get her some insurance right now.
Truck had no records of car crashes, no tickets left on it, no salvage title. All clean. And her gramps managed to lower the price some too! They got it in $6200. Something is better then nothing I guess. Original price was $6500.

oh congratz on the truck. its clean!! swap that rear end for an elocker and a OME lift kit, your set!! dont let the 2wd stop her from going on any trips. i driven on the beach in 2wd but i always carry a set of smittybilt element ramps which i recommend!!

if your looking for a cheap fix without the harsh ride. Daystar sells spacer kits that bolt to the top of the coilover. my buddy with a 4runner did the same on his. the rear on the taco will need new springs for a lift. i really wouldnt do an AAL, harsh ride, axle warp or wrap lol and i have see the leaf springs snap in half due to them...

btw ive heard of similar ramps before but didnt know smittybilt made some. Ive seriously considered buying me a pair of the MaxxTraX ones only reason i didnt was because they costed almost double as what these cost. But The smittybilt ones you're talking about seem like a really good deal. I like that idea. Just not sure if i'd need them anymore being locked in the front and rear now lol. but if still coninute having a "getting stuck" problem, which i really hope i dont, then i might have to go ahead and buy some of those.

I can ask but she's not a sticker kind of girl when it comes to her vehicles. She's a big clean freak when it comes to cars lol. l guess we'll see i'll let her take it all in right now. She's way too happy man. Talk about being a goofy little girl in a candy store haha
I spoke to her about possibly lifting it 1-2 inches if she wanted and she said no. She likes the height of it just the way it is right now. So looks like it'll be pretty much staying how it sits now. with some minor mods. wondering if she's gonna consider the locker yet though. Dont even know if she'll wanna take it off roading considering how squeeky clean it is lol I just wanna fix that tire rubbing problem before she damages those brand new tires and/or possibly the wheel and mud flaps.

Plus don't they sell some sort of shovel or anchor kind of product for use with a winch that u dig into the floor so u can pull yourself out when there aren't any trees around? I'm sure I've seen something like that before.

I don't own any, but it are certainly a few options for winch anchors.

Working on my power winders again :hillbill:
Here is just a reference to when i worked on the power windows a few months ago. I know some of you guys mentioned that my main control switch might be corroded or dirty. but i remember cleaning it up really good. Mark, Ray & Grego remember how nasty that was. it was all super green in corrosion and i cleaned it up a lot. But ok i'ma play with these switches again. busting out with the multi-meter today to see if there has been any changes in the contacts.
Here are a couple of pix I took to show you the internals of my power window buttons.

Close up on the driver side button.
I really wish I would have taken before pix. But I forgot to. This main switch had so much green build up on the copper pieces and the contacts were all corroded. So in order to fix this problem I used CLR cleaner to remove all the corrosion. Soaked it for 2 minutes then used a Q-Tip to rub the hell out of it. Used clean water to rinse it off. Then used a blow drier to dry. Let it dry over night. Then I used the sand paper to clean up even more and further expose the contacts. After that I used this white sand paper-ish plastic paper that Rad4Runner gave me to finish it off with a nice clean polish. I'm sure Rad and Mark can definitely see the difference.

This is the passenger side button. I didn't clean this one at all. As you can see the contacts on this one are in much better shape then the driver side. And if you look really closely you can see that it still has the factory grease on it. And it's so shiney.

And yes i know not to make it my truck. I'm sure i wont have trouble doing that. That just means im able to spend more $$$ on the parts i still want on my truck hahaha

She is all jazzed about her new truck lol. only downfall is that she cant keep the truck in the apartment garage. thats her mommas parking. and if she parks it in the alley way behind their apartments her a-hole neighbours will probably key her truck or worse slash her tires. They have really f*d up her moms paint job in the past couple of months. we cant do anything about it though. no way to prove it unless we pull an all nighter sitting in a car watching from a distance. Anywho i told he to play it safe and park it on the street. ive never had any problems with my rigs there. and im sure her clean paint job will be safe if she does. lol so thats what she is gonna be doing from now on.
Thanks Terry. i'll make sure to show here all these messages. lol It's funny she doesnt know you guys but she does know you from what i tell her about you guys lol

All good now its time to work on my own rig.

Well that was easy enough. Just took apart the switch and confirmed YES it is the master switch. The neither of the 2 up buttons are making contact with the bottom plate that completes the circuit to move the window up. both the down switches do make contact thus allowing the down buttons to work on both. now to get this baby fixed and working!

You could always make a longer remote, I mad a winch remote tht just about allows me to stand behind my 4runner and eventually I plan to make a dash mounted winch controller would be the same as a long remote but just be one tht was ran through the truck, I even plan to use a factory rear window switch to conrol it when inside
#1499
my smittybilt winch remote is plenty long i could be in the back seat of my truck and still use the remote.
if you have a good battery, you really dont need to rev the engine up. i never do and i hardly see or feel any excessive power draw. i have a die hard platinum, used by alot of expo guys and mine is rated at 800 cca i think. i used my works battery tester and it tested well over 1000 CCA lol i was impressive since it was parked for like a month or two too before testing
