Hey Richard, hope you have a good day at work.... . I'm not sure if they're meant to be illuminated .. Well, I'm looking at the one that is in my dash right now with my parking lights on and... if it is, my light is burned out. I'm not sure which one you have, but mine says mirror on it... And yet the donor that I have does not say mirror yes it is the same design and type of mirror switch. The other thing is that I believe the defroster switch directly next to it does have a light and yet it eliminates from behind so the switch has to be removed from its housing, in other words it has to be removed from the black portion in order to see if there is a light in there. In other words yet again, there is no screw in type bulb that makes contact on a plate at least on the exterior taking a cursory glance but the switch I have here, a spare one that's for sale... Inside there may be a screw in type bulb but I can't take this one a part of the moment. Most all of their switches are illuminated including the cruise control, however that one simply has a little green light and the lettering is not illuminated. I believe the defroster is the same way? Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment but you'll figure it out!

Just thought I'd let you guys know that Faby and I are going car shopping and we just test drove a 4 door Jeep wrangler (Her dream car) and she hated everything about it!

Woot woot
Toyota up 1
Jeep to 0

She said that test drive just officially confirmed it. She does not want a Jeep. Hooray for me and her future yota lol

We took a look at a toyota dealership as well and looked at some tacomas and she still likes the newer tacomas but her prefered choice is the 2000-2003 tacomas due to their smaller size and awesone look. I'm happy she ditched the Heep idea. Lol

Yeey! Yeah, compact is better, unless you're towing something heavy. Compact will let you have access to more places, less likely to sink tires on mud/sand.

Limber, not lumbering.

Chefs edit is here post #1461, had a brain malfunction and couldn't find it but recalled reading it prior

Went and double checked the scematics, only the "Power window lock s/w" is lighted, it's one of the the three in the console. Atleast thats the only one that ties into the dimmer that they thought to include in the scematics, if there are ones in the other switches they will be internally wired and non-dimmable.

Nope, my 87 4runner has all three switches lighted in the console... Rear window wiper, rear window lock and rear window power switch what are all illuminated when the parking lights are on. My defroster switch is lighted as well, but I'm not sure that the mirror switch is lighted, and mine certainly isn't working if it is. However my mirrors work just fine.

247k miles. He says that the engine was rebuilt 5k ago. No receipts to prove it but he said he doesn't mind going to a mechanic to confirm that it was.

247k miles but supposedly the engine was rebuilt 5000 miles ago.

Its a prerunner. So no 4x4. But she said that's what we have my truck for so she is ok with that.

4cly, tranny serviced recently engine rebuilt 5k ago, passed smog on friday, tags good till march of next year. It does drive smooth.

And the guy is willing to go with my girl and grandpa to the Ca DMV to go do the paperwork. He seems legit.

$6500 buyout.

They're nice rims too. I don't think she's gonna wanna go to my black rims with these. These looked really clean. Just need a good shine that's all. He also did rotors and brakes. Changed all oils. It looks like a very well kept and well (on time) maintained. My only conplaint is that there is some tire rubbing on the wheelwell passenger side because the tires are too big or something. Paint job seems really nice. A couple of expected scratches. And a bit of paint chip. But for the most part it looks like a good deal. He said he would hold it for Faby till tomorrow. So he's taking the craigslist add off and said he'll tell everybod that calls to check back after tomorrow.
And lucky that it has 4 new tires too lol. I layed down under the truck to see the condition and it looks clean too. No leaks ot sludge. Great condition. Only downfall is no 4x4 and no 5speed manual. But still she did have a point. She can't afford the high insurance. And she doesn't wanma off road it rigorously anyways. That is why we hace my 4Runner for. So that's definitely understandable. Ill back her on that one lol.

All that means is that no 4x4 on that 4cly = better gas mileage for her. So that's great.
Her grandpa owes her 3000 for selling her old car and keeping the profit. So he's giving her $3000. And all faby has to worry about is $3500. Plus registration and insurance. Happy for her. She deserves something good for once after all she has been through. And this she absolutely loves.

Thanks a lot for that tip. i totally forgot about Torsion bars lol That definitely outta fix the problem. I doubt the guy ever messed with those. When i went under the truck to inspect for leaks n stuff it was so damn clean.

I asked if he would take a lower price but this guy did his research as well on competition. Checked other craigslist adds amd yea its true his is the cleanest one up for sale and also the cheapest. He said he put it at that price so nobody will ask him to lower it anymore. Its understandable.

It doesn't look too bad. I like it too. Prefer the regular. But this version looks like a weee lit'l toy truck lol (to me at least) I know if she puts on a small 2" lift with some 31's it will look far better then what it looks like now. And after she does that then it will really look like a Hot Wheel car lol

It does. She said it looks different. And it isn't too bad looking so she said she likes it.

Yea the truck suits her. Its not too big and it'll save on gas for all the drivings she's gonna be doing going to and from school. I can see her washing her own truck with a big ol' smile on her face lol
Ill let you guys know if she buys it by tonight. Hoping for the best.

She mentioned that she might end up wanting a locker in the rear like we told her. Just so she could do mild off road when we go on our trips. I guess we'll see how that one goes. I'd hate to waste 2x the $$$ on gas lol but you're right if I was to add possibly a 2 inch lift to the entire truck through Bj Spacers and torsion bars and rear leafs. I think it'd be a pretty decent upgrade or present to her in the future. Not to mention having that will drastically change the look of the truck for the better especially if adding some decent 31" A/Ts. Making it look more beefy and sporty.

Too bad we can't add the whole front end that we took off my 4Runner to convert it to 4x4 with having 2wd paperwork. Lol that'd be sick.

Hope you know that taco doesn't have the same suspension was your old ifs runner. Toyota stopped using torsion bars after 1995. It has coilover up front and leaf springs in rear. Funny you post up that taco side step cuz one just came in today. In silver, very clean as pre runner
