Nice work bud.
I couldn't tell just by that short video exactly how much build up you had on the intake gaskets and so forth. However, they looked fairly clean between the air intake jackets and around the corner and jackets. Any spot where there is no gasket is pretty normal for crap to build up there.
Spraying carb cleaner or starter fluid along the intake manifolds while it's running, if the leaking of vacuum is bad, should raise the Idle as you are spraying it in there. It doesn't always though. Depends where it is.
Man, I will be so excited for you its just sold some of your problems!

As for the Carb cleaner goes.... Oh well it didnt work but i will definitely test it out on all the spaghetti soup of vacuum hoses on the passenger side of the engine when it gets all reassembled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So i took everything apart last night in 3 hours. Left everything ready for this morning. Today cleaned everything up scraped off all the dirt, gasket stuff, and wiped down with acetone. put the new manifold gaskets and reinstalled the manifold according to Haynes service manual and torque order. I could have sworn i was gonna finish this job by 1pm today. but i thought wrong. Came across some really jacked up injectors. So i had to stop assembling for now and take my injectors to get refurbished. This Should not only give me better engine response. but possibly increase mileage (crossing my fingers it does lol) Anyway you can definitely see the difference in how dirty it was from last nights video to this video. It's a huge difference. I also swapped in a new temp sensor for that one i broke last night too! $26 at O'Reiley Auto Parts.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
glad i caught all of this stuff now though.

They're gonna charge me $24 per injector. That sure as hell beats paying $135 from OReilly auto parts or over 200 per injector at the stealership.

Mark (chefyota) recommended this place to me. When I rebuilt my engine I had to go with new injectors because two of them were broken at the nozzle. I really wanted to send them out and get them done. Maybe next time. It is way more affordable to have them sent out and taking care of them to buy new ones. I only got a massive discount because of my account at the school.

As I said in Instagram, the injectors will definitely help, and getting those sensors sorted will help big time. I've heard of RCEngineering, they have a good reputation. And just $2 more per injector than Witchhunter, but local to you...I'd go to them, too. Hopefully they send along the report showing before and after flow numbers and spray pattern quality, too. If they do, post it up!

Hi guys. It's been a few months since i've been here so I just wanted to give you guys all an update on whats going on with my truck, my school and everything else.
First my schooling has been going great. I've been going to school for about 7 months now at American Career College in Los Angeles CA studying to become a Certified Surgical Technologist. So far i have been passing all of my classes with A's and B's. I'm enjoying learning everything. To most this is a scary or disgusting field to get into. But for me this is exciting, fun and awesome! I'm not the best student in my class, but i have been recognized by every teacher as a very dedicated, successful and talented student who excels in what i put my mind to. I'm definitely one of the better students in my class for the LAB class with hands on practice. All this hard work has gotten me an offer from 3 teachers to become the Surgical Technology program class ambassador. It's an unpaid job and fairly basic and easy. But it will look great on my job applications when i finally finish my school. I accepted the offer and as of right now the position is being decided between me and another one of my fellow students. We shall see what the result will be soon. I have been going to school on my own time 2 sometimes 2&1/2 hours earlier before school opens to arrive before other students trickle into class so i can practice setting up the operating room and O.R. table etc. All for trying to perfect the technique. The more prepared i am now the better for in class tests and even more during the real thing. Just this past week we began doing Mock surgeries. and i've got two cases under my belt before the class even began doing them. both cases of which were appendectomy(removal of appendix). Let me tell ya, this wasn't the real thing but OMG the rush i got while doing this was amazing. I can already tell i'm gonna love this field/career. My hardwork so far has paid off tremendously. As of right now i have 3 A's for my overall grade for this term. Hoping to maintain those grades if not at minimum a high B. But I will keep doing what im doing. I have already looked into what type of cases i want to specialize in. and Ive decided for me the funnest, most exciting, types of cases would be trauma. Not because i've got a twisted mind and want to see people in pain and mangled limbs. But i've been told by teachers/and i believe that working in trauma will keep me on my toes at all time because i will never know what is going to come in through the doors. Everything is unexpected and i will always have a variety of cases coming in. Plastic surgery, and all planned out surgeries are all anticipated and one can get rusty in other specialties with lack of use of skill. By working in trauma i will be well rounded, wont get rusty in my technique, and i will be forced to have to learn and know human anatomy/physiology very well to the best to better do my job. I think this field will keep me on my toes and not to mention this particular one will never be boring! I only have 1 more year to go but it is just a few more months before i will begin clearance to be able to do my clinical hours in which i will finally be able to practice in hospitals under the staffs supervision. I am so excited and anxious for that time to come. I look forward to it very much.
This picture was taken last term and this was one of my first set ups of all the instruments. weeks have gone by now and there is much more things in our tables and set ups. and it looks a heck of alot neater then that now too!

I am not the only one who has began to get my life together. I'm sure you all remember my girlfriend Faby. Well she has actually been attending MUD(Make-Up Designory) Schhol of makeup. This has always been a passion of hers. So she decided to bite the bullet like i did and pursue a field she has always loved. Faby is excelling in her class, being one of the top students. She has gotten lots of recognition from her teachers and other contracted photographers, and models that she has worked with. It is a short school program and she only has 3 more weeks left of school. She will be long done by the time i finish. I'm very proud of her hard work and determination and it is definitely paying off for her as well because she has already been offered one job for when she finished her school for somewhat of a "on-call" make-up artist to start. Her skill has significantly improved and that will work to her advantage but for her i believe the best thing is going to be her personality. People just like working with her and i think that is a good thing in any field. Chefyota4x4, Ray and a few others can vouch for that.
Here is some of her work. She should be getting a website up soon. But for now she has all her work available on http://instagram.com/Makeup_by_fabiola_

She has more pix uploaded since this picture was taken. She is currently taking the special effects makeup for the remainder of her school. I cant wait to see what crazy stuff she comes up with. Kinda anxious for Halloween this year because of that
I'm happy i was able to share this stuff with you guys. I really havent had much time to do any write ups at all. so i just let it pass and time goes on. If you have a smartphone though you can always download the app Instagram. Mark(chefyota4x4), Gizler, Speedhonky nickmiller and a few others are on instagram from here on yotatech as well. I use the same user name Redeth005 on there as i do here. Anyway i keep that page up to date quite frequently mainly because its just snap a picture and do a quick description. It's so much easier then working with YT, photobucket, IMG codes, Saving pix and uploading pix. Anyway. I keep that page updated with all the truck, school, everyday things updates often. Anyway if you have one or want to make one you can always follow me there much easier then on here.
I will try to get a truck update knocked out tonight for you guys as well. I miss talking and hearing from you all

Also wanted to let you guys kn ow a couple of things that i've done to the truck. Last i was on here i was starting to have some overheating issues and was considering an engine swap on impulse buying. thank god i didn't do that lol I Took my truck to YotaMasters here in California and they did a couple of things to the rig. They had to troubleshoot couple of things. First of all my Mass airflow meter was going bad which explained why it ran richer and fluctuated my idle up and down as it'd overheat from time to time. Once replacing that the truck was mostly fine. Here is a quick video from my instagram. Showing the New Airflowmeter
They also saw that one of calipers was seizing up on me while i would drive causing the engine to work harder, burn more fuel, and run much hotter. In the end they found that one caliper was was working better then the right causing my truck to swerve to the left(like what had happened last year) this issue was because i was stuck with the 89 v6 calipers and not the better 93-95 v6 calipers. These calipers off the later years were slightly bigger and the space where the disc fits into the caliper is slightly wider by 1 or 2mm. anyway i did this Brake caliper upgrade on my own time thanks to them and i noticed a much greater braking power behind the truck now. Not a ton. but i can most definitely feel the difference. One other thing that Eric at yotamasters found was that 2 engine mounts and one transmission mount was bad so those had to be replaced. In the end they replaced my MAF with a refurbished one, labor, and motor/tranny mounts. Also finally bought myself a Highlift from them as well. This one is a 50" TJM high lift. for $72 bucks. i like it.

Another thing Yotamasters did was used a Redline watterwetter/antifreeze/water mixture of a ratio i can not remember. And this mixture assists in keeping the temperature down. My truck runs perfectly fine now.
Ive realized that every time i needed someone to go to as a last resort i could always count on yotamasters to fix my issue. So thanks to them i added my trucks first sticker to my yakima roofrack. They deserve some recognition. So i now sport the shop logo/name on my rig.

Also had to sell my Corolla. So I use the truck as my Daily driver now too. has its perks but biggest disadvantage is MPG. but before i sold the it i removed my car's stereo system and installed it all into my truck. Even made a custom speaker box to mount onto the rollcage. Now my truck goes Boom Boom with no problem at all lol. 800w amp powering my kicker subwoofer and 700w amp powering my 4 kicker speakers on the roll cage. two 4" Performance Teknique speakers in the stock location up front under the dash, and 6" Kenwood speakers in the stock side panel location on the bed. with an awesome Sony stereo. Here is a picture of that speaker box

My only complaint is that it blocks my view slightly of whta is behind me so i just need to duck down slightly to see past it in the rear view mirror.
Here is a short instagram video of the box close up http://instagram.com/p/qActvqlIv4/?modal=true
I swapped out all the All Pro nuts with some that i bought at my local Smiths fasteners store. Bought some Nylon lock nuts and some lock washers. the reason i swapped these out was because the ones i got with the SAS kit dont hold tight for very long. and after a couple of weeks i would always need to get under the truck and retighten the bolts. I figured some day i amd gonna get in a huge accident with a bolt that slips out or whatever. better to be safe then sorry. not only that but every time the bolts loosen up the truck would get a mild death wobble symptom and i was just over it already so i went ahead and replaced them.

I hit up the junk yard as soon as i could to address that caliper issue. Here are the update pix for that.
Here i am cleaning them up with a wire brush. (also found use for my medical masks lol)

P.S. if you go with this caliper make sure theyre off the 93-95 years stamped S13WB.

Primed and painted them to look good on the rig. made them cherry red like when i first SAS'd the truck.

Beer Break. ICE COLD! Not my fav but these leftovers fro mthe recent party did just fine.

Here's a short video from the process and finished job
I also finally saved up $$$ to buy the 1.5" wheel spacers that ive been wanting since the SAS! lol Bought my Trail-gear wheel spacers off of yotamasters and for the promotional period they were including a T.G. tire plug kit and free shipping. I got all this for under 80 bucks!

To my amazement the order for wheel spacers arrived in 26 hours! that was awesome! So i installed them the same day they arrived.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a copy and paste description of why i swapped spacers off my instagram page.
Once a person does a Solid Axle Swap "SAS" and decides to upgrade to bigger and better master cylinder/V6 calipers they will find themselves with a clearance issue as you can see here in the left picture. Obviously the rim backing plate won't reach the part it is supposed to be flush to due to the caliper sticking out in front of it about 1&1/4". The person I bought my axle off of included these massive 3" spacers(pictured in the center picture) that I've been using since I did the SAS but I honestly do not like the look of them so wide. And don't like the fact it puts stress on the axle. So I finally decided to go to the correct size. 1&1/2" wheel spacers(pictured on the right) these will clear the bigger calipers while still giving me about a 1/4" left after the caliper. Definitely happy I got these.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Also did a mod for my cooling system. Althought yotamasters did fix the overheating issue i do notice a slight difference in temperature during uphills on hwys. So Eric from yotamasters suggested i try this modification to help out with my slight temperature increases when pushing the motor hard during uphills on the freeway(especially during this hot summer weather). This will be directed to squirt water onto my radiator and as the air circulates through the front end as I drive it will then cool the water being squirted, then cool radiator and bring over all temperature down when thermostat opens up to swap with the cooler water. Should already be working like that without any assistance from a modification but this motor sucks so bad I almost need the extra help. I don't know if it will work but it's definitely worth a try.
I havent tested this mod out in a long distance trip yet so i cant see if it works on my rig. BUT one of the users on Instagram saw and copied this mod and drove long distance somewhere in texas and gave me positive feedback. Here's what he had to say about the mod:
flyyin_hayn
Drove my beast about a hour today on the highway. Seems like it works well when you spray at a little slower speed. Tried at 65 and waited temp stayed a little high. Sprayed at 45/50 and 3 minutes later temp drop back to normal. I've made the drive before and it would stay high, so looks like it works.
on a separate occasion when he drove it long distance somewhere in Texas he said this :
flyyin_hayn
it worked like a champ! 6 hours doing 60 average. In 95/98 degree temp took it down to normal temp every time. Only thing is, I went through 2 full washer tanks.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And last but not least! This just happened day before yesterday. I FINALLY GOT ME A CB RADIO SET UP!

I found a COBRA 25GTL in my dads garage and a wilson 1000 antenna. Dad told me if i get it fixed he'd let me have them. So i did just that.
Thanks to my buddy Julio (one of our local SoCal Big rig truck drivers) we went to his friend Camacho to get my set up working and tuned. This guy is somebody who does all of the truckers CB radios. He really knows his stuff. Camacho, cleaned the internals to the CB radio, gave it a few upgrades for longer range and fixed the needle on the face. I didn't end up getting a firewhip or permanent antenna install like I originally planned. He told me the antenna portion of my Wilson 1000 was perfectly fine and in great working condition but the base portion was missing the magnet, and was very corroded inside. So he sold me a new base with a mid piece for cleaner transmissions. Internal speaker on my Cobra 25GTL was busted and rather then replace it he just threw in a better and louder speaker to mount near the passenger feet area. Then he tuned my antenna as well. He didn't do an installation because i wasn't sure where i wanted to mount the CB yet so i just have it in there. In the end he cleaned up and fixed the cobra CB, upgraded it for further distance, sold me a base and middle piece for the Wilson antenna, installed the speaker, and tuned the antenna. He didn't charge me labor because i was a friend of my buddy Julio so that was a huge plus. All this only came out to $90. Not bad considering a new CB would have costed me much more and still not including the other necessary parts. So this price was great. Definitely happy
Here is Camacho woring in the shop

Here she is!

Small video of the stuff ive got.

And the best part about it is when testing this baby out on the way back home we made contact with people way out in Norwalk CA, the 710fwy and Florence Ave, South Gate California. And we were way out by Soto st and Washington in Los angeles. Dude that was 4, 5.4, and 13 miles away what more can I possibly want. This will definitely be sufficient enough for the trail especially if i go off roaming around and get lost or stranded. Haha
They also saw that one of calipers was seizing up on me while i would drive causing the engine to work harder, burn more fuel, and run much hotter.

Haha

Hey Richard, great to hear from you! I'm glad school is going good for you and Faby! Its good to hear that you're enjoying your classes and excelling at them. All your hard work will pay off when you have a career that you enjoy doing, instead of a job that you dread going to, lol.
Glad you got the overheating issue resolved, nice work on all the upgrades, and new parts, the V6 caliper and 1" bore master cylinder upgrade are still on my wishlist, lol. I like the rollbar mounted speaker box, I was thinking of building something similar, it would be nice with the top off, and still be able to hear your tunes! Its good seeing some pics of your 4runner, I still want your front bumper, lol!!! Take care bud!

I do have a few. Like I said most of the updated truck pix are on instagram. But I'll post some to here to show you she's doing well lol. We got a trip coming up so I will take tons of pix for sure! Definitely wanna share some updated pix finally. I all I have was pix from last year haha

I have a Big Bear trip that I set up with help from Mark for next week on thursday August 14 ,2014. I'm always missing out on fun weekend trips because I only work Saturday and Sunday. Calling off one day would make a major impact on my biweekly check of 4 days taking out 1/4 of the pay lol. So since I can't make it to the trips that others set up I decided to make my own trip for next Thursday which happens to be my only day off from school during the week for this term. So far I've got a few people coming. Got my neighbor Ruben with his desert tan 85 long bed pick up, Mark - Chefyota, somebody off of instagram, and myself. Might have more by the time the trip nears. But hell i was okay with just 2 so 4 people is already nice. Lol the more the merrier. and best of all NOW I'LL BE READY WITH A CB RADIO to be able to communicate with everyone. Finally!
Alright goodnight all. I'll try to make it a point to update my page regularly so I don't fall behind or else I'll be up until 1:30am like today all over again catching up haha. I kinda abandoned yotatech but I've been busy with everything else going on so I thank you all for reading.

Glad to hear you're doing so well Richard! and Faby also!
I haven't done anything to the truck lately, it's running fine. I'm in the middle of converting my ol' camry into a 5-speed. Just got done rebuilding it and ready to install now. I'll go and post a pic of it on my thread, painted it red for the toyotafest show next year.
Other than that it's tuna fishing season, so kill'n them and one more trip at the end of the month.

Glad all is well with you and faby! Great work on the cb and speaker box.
Those are two things I need to do on mine. The speakers are pretty poor. I currently only have the front two in the dash. I have some others for the rear that I need to put in. Just been lazy with that.
I also have a cb that I keep wanting to mount, but cannot decide where to put he antennae.
It's always nice to have someone familiar with them that can help out.

I got 9 miles out the other day. I was impressed. i dont need any more distance then what this set up is offering. all i wanted was clarity and a couple miles distance for when we travel in our little 4x4 groups. So i have enough with this.
As for the speaker box. I got thew idea off a user on Instagram. The guy used some 5x7 speaker boxes and used some metal straps to hold them on the roll bar. It wasnt the same but i liked where his idea was at. So this got me thinking. and i wanted to make my version more compact to fit all 4 kicker speakers whiles keeping it as high as possible to the hard top. after many measurments and going back and forth to the truck i got the angle finally right for the triangular box that would wrap around the roll bar. It sounds great! and best of all is that i can put my seats up and down without having to move speaker boxes every time. Only box i need to worry about is my subwoofer.
Glad to hear you're doing so well Richard! and Faby also!

cb basics (i learned back when ya needed a license to play on CB)
usually 19 (which is in the middle of the tuned radios band an thus most receptive an talkative) is where most go to to just yack
when you need to get in "break/breaker # ch here" when it (if it) goes quiet ask your question or such
10 code is still used even by sheriff dept an constables on their car to car radios an its been on CD just as long
10-4 affirmative yes ok an other 10 codes are useful too
the cobra 25/29 great radio good power when peek'ed (radio man removes certain 'limiters' inside doesnt hurt the radio is leftover from when FCC regulated CB bands your antenna great one has the ground plane rods on it to help overcome the fiberglass top issue CB radio likes metal van/suburban/tops flat an signal reflective
i still have my 148gtl sideband radio with a booster i had i actually talked to perth austrailia via skip (reflecting off high clouds an upper ionosphere the signal can go really far lol my booster actually cooked an melted my first fiberglass whips i had on that 88 nissan pickup
