Woohoo! That's a great accomplishment! Yea, I know the tired feeling too...I had it several times when doing the head gasket project on my truck a few years ago.

How is that new diff activated?
Somewhere between trail building and trail using that's a decent weekend is when for the front diff.
I'll be using a relay, the oe switch, an indicator light and a lot of wire. Found a schematic I like and will be following it. I'll post up when I get into it, gotta order some wire and a few bits and pieces.
My younger daughter. Wednesday morning she got caught on the tail end of a sudden freeway slowdown, and bumped her Taurus wagon into the back end of a BMW X5.

Couldn't remember if it was electrical, vacuum, or combo.... My Tacoma is open and will remain so, I think.
It looks better in pics than in person! Up clsoe, it's a bit more obvious that it's a rattlecan on the fender, but the bumper and hood are all nice matching factory paint.
And the shutlines are a bit off, but given the time constraint of getting it done this weekend I didn't worry about them that much. The hood opens and closes properly and it's not dripping anything any more.
Hey! It only took 4 shampoos to get the grease out of my hair! Stain remover actually managed to take care of the jeans respectably. My hands though, there's still evidence...
A couple o' rolling sounds I'm thinking have mostly to do with some rust that was inside the drums. Still haven't switched out the bleeder screw on the side that wasn't behaving, either. I don't hear any bearing noise and everything else seems so far copacetic. Oh yeah, and nothing has fallen off yet, either, as far as I know.
Skid plates off, front driveshaft out. 2 wheel drive now, not that I would use the 4.10s with the 4.30s. Getting ready to put in the new-to-me front dif w/appropriate 4.30s. Just gotta find some time to do it. Got the bits and pieces ordered for getting the wiring done too, those should show up next week.

Hey hun,... Have you thought about a type of hammock to hold it up and ratchet straps holding on each side? I did something similar with my transmission, when pulling and dropping in the motor I built. Obviously with just a diff it's a bit different.... But maybe you can rig something up that would allow you to slip a tie off down a tiny bit on each side until it lines up. (You know, special knot trix! ...)
I actually did eat spinach today rw (minestrone). I've got jack stands and the tires under it, hate being under there when there's no wheels holding it up.
Chef- thought about a rope system but went and got a cheap tranny jack instead. It's got a v-shaped tray and should go high enough to get the thing in. Once I get the drive shaft flange up in there enough it'll catch on the bell housing and I'll be able to wiggle it into place. At least, that's the plan. I'll need the jack again when we do the clutch on the 99 because I'm NOT trying that crazy conglomeration of a thing we did with the tranny/transfer case with the 96. That's my justification. Is that cheating? I hope it feels like it when I'm done getting it in there.
