Richard, you need to give your dog a Glucosamine supplement. There are many out there and you can even give them human glucosamine tablets from Costco.

I've tried a couple of brands and also human tablets. The one that works best for my 12 1/2 year old lab is Cosequin DS Joint Health Supplement (maximum strength), you can get it at Walmart. It's more expensive than many of the others, but my dog's worth it. People are pretty shocked he's that old for a big lab and moving like he does. I couldn't ask for a more active dog at his age, of course he can't go on hikes anymore but he's easily able to still fetch, run around with his soccer ball, play a little rough, and go for walks around the neighborhood. Of course diet is everything also, my dog eats strictly quality dry dog food, chicken jerky, milk bones, and greenies. The only time he gets human food is when we go camping, and sparingly even then.

Heck yea! gotta love the fact that it covers up all the cracks haha
As for the problems. I'll be ok. Definitely gonna be life changing time in my life. So yea... it's pretty bad.

On a side note. I finally got my W2 forms so I'm gonna be filing soon. Hopefully the tax return is big enough to cover all the rest of the truck parts! woot!

Sorry to hear you're heading into a rough patch. Hopefully it will turn out well.

Dash cover looks good. I'll need one when I head back to Australia.

Thanks for the concern guys. I'm feeling much better now. All i can say is that I think from here on out things will be much different but change for the better. :-)
One can always learn from life's obstacles. Its up to you to choose to learn from them. To better yourself for better or for worse. So I'm just keeping that mindset. And so far its working for me.

Oh yea dude. Stay away from Earl Scheib paibt shops suck! My paint job started to peel on crevaces after 8 months. And when I took it back the place had supposedly gone out of business but apparently theyre still around. And I got ripped off for a crappy job.

No updates to the truck yet. Been really busy lately. But i did get around to replaceing the rotors and brade pads on my Corolla thursday night. Nothing more important then safety. Some other good news is that i finally did my taxes and i will be getting just under $2100 In my tax return. HECK YEA! you know what that means. With that money that im getting back and the $$$ i have saved in my savings account I am gonna pay off the rest of whats left with my engine rebuild. And im gonna buy all the missing SAS/Lift/Hy-steer parts for the next big project! DAMN I CANT WAIT! WOOT!

Also my next door neighbours told me about an off-road trip coming up to "Truck Haven in Salton Sea" gonna be a weekend trip. So looks like i gotta get my stuff together for a camping trip. its gonna be fun. Wanna buy myself a small ice chest and a blow up mattress for the bed of my truck. Also a big tarp to cover everything I throw up on top of my roof rack so all my gear doesn't get covered in dirt and other elements.

Thanks guys. I'm looking forward to it too. I only wish we could do my SAS and other upgrades before this trip It's all good. This place will be some good practice for me so i can have something to compare to when i do have the upgrades done to the truck.

Here are some videos of my last trip out there back in 2007. I wish i would have gotten some better offroad shots and better videos. I was either having too much fun or it was too dangerous to get out of the truck to snap some better shots. But you'll get the idea of how it is through these videos. Just keep in mind that there is al lot more complicated stuff then what you see here though.
These are videos(just Click on the pic):

Mark Ive already invited you. My Neighbours said if i know more people to go ahead and invite. the more then better. So if some of you guys wanna come along let me know. Maybe Grego, and ray?

Need Better Tires

Man, those videos look fun! But I don't think my truck would handle that right now. She came with road tires with fine tread. Yesterday, she was fishtailing on washboard road on our way to a trailhead

Now that I live 7 minutes from work (previously 40 minutes), I can afford to have all-terrains or even mud terrains on her

Got recommendations? Just need tires that would work well on dirt/muddy roads, also paved road Like Mount Baldy when there's snow on road. However, I do not think even Mud Terrains are safe enough when road's icy, are they? Becasue rubber would not cut (make traction) into ice, we really need snow cables OR special snow tires for when roads icy, right?

My road tires are still in good shape. Do you know places in So Cal that will take them as trade ins in exchange for used good all- terrain tires?

I drive around on a sheet of ice everywhere I go. The Goodyear Kevlar MTR tires are doing great. Nice on road as well and I have 15" rims and 35" tires. I love them. Off road they really shine!

They clear the treads out well with dramatic effect.

If it's slick put it in four wheel drive. I've been in 4x4 for a couple months now. Any tire can slip on ice and slush. Drive to conditions and you'll be fine.

I 2nd what CDN said. BFG are great tires. If you like all terrains better then you should ask Mark. He has put those babys to the test.
I have honestly had bad experiences with the only set of MTs I ever owned. The Thornbird tires. Id honestly be nervous every time it rained because of how crappy they gripped; even on dry weather. And when I would go to Big Bear I would always ride in 4x4 because I didnt trust the tires. You can even see those tires in the videos. Those are the same tires I was using back then too But now that I've researched those tires I see that those are the worst MTs ever. They suck even for mud haha.

But I have heard great things about the BFG M/Ts. Thats actually what I plan on upgrading to. I'm gonna have my sport king tires for the street. And the mud terrains for off road trips. Its gonna be pretty nice.
