Hey guys just picked up the 2000 Corolla from the Paint shop. GREGO THANKS FOR REFERING ME TO THIS PLACE! They did 10x better job then Earl scheib did the last time I painted it.
Here are 4 pix of each side of the car. Jeez they did such a great job. Almost makes me wanna do the truck haha.

All it needs is some nice simple rims to match the nice paint job. And its set.
The guy from the shop told me to wait 1 week to wash it and 1 month to wax it.

Looks good! Now you can sell it and buy the sweet lady her Heep - LOL!

Hey guys,
Speaking of paintjob, the fiberglas as already showing on my top so I want to have I painted for protection. My usual bodyshop guy says better to remove the top and paint it. On the other hand, I don't want the seals messed with so I;d rather have it painted while on the body.
What do yo guys think? Remove top or not?
I do not want it to be shiny and attract thieves), just smooth enough for ease of waxing. So shop could actually skip a couple of usual final polishing
What would be a reasonable price for that?
TIA,
Ray

she looks beautiful redeth!! hey if the runner needs a new clear coat why not let them handle it! wow! i wish we had them around here! id get the body work done on mine an let THEM paint mine!

rad id say take it off then you can wipe the seals down with armorall the tops were designed to be pulled off
and why not let them smooth it off makes for a better finish easier to clean and make for a better paint job but thats just IMO

Cool, Yeah, I'll call my body shop tomorrow. Let them take it off. In fact, the place is a long ways from my home so maybe I'll let them take off the top, then I'll drive home topless - weather's warmed up compared to last week anyways

Tnx, guys!

Nice paint.

Do the 2nd gens have wiring for the inclinometre? I think I wouldn't mind having one.

Hey HighLux thanks for dropping by. I like the little corolla's too. Love the look of this particular year and every year after that. But gotta love that 27-29mpg average it gets the most!

I really dont think it should cost too much just to do the hard top. I was assume somewhere about $200. I also agree with the others. Take off the top if you only plan to do the top alone. What'd they tell ya at the body shop today?

I might consider it. My paint job is still pretty clean. i think all it would need is to get the 1"x2.5" scratch by my rear passenger tail light re painted with matching paint, and when i finally do get a hood and vent then ill have them paint that. But, as of right now. i'm good with it. no money for another paint job. Must buy the rest of the stuff i need for my sas/lift job before i worry about exterior cosmetics on the truck.
You guys don't have any Paint shops around where you live?

To my knowledge they never had that option. I know they sell after market ones that you can install. or you can get a newer style one that looks more "round-ish" to match that newer dashboard the 2nd gens have. I don't know what car they come off of but i am sure that Ive seen them before. You would just need to be sure where you want it mounted(and make sure its level) because once you cut that dash there's no going back.

Took the dogs hiking today at Azusa's 10 mile "Bridge To Nowhere" trail. Cant believe 1 year ago i used to do this one easy. I'm so exhausted. From the pictures it looks like I'm not the only one that was exhausted. Some pix i took of the view with the Samsung GS3 Camera.

This one was just the entrance to the trail. As you can see it's still sand paved on this part.

When you reach about 1/2 way in you get to these cool looking steps made out of stones. i thought it was pretty cool especially knowing that this hike is so old. The bridge at the end of the tail was build in the 1930's.
My youngest dog Sophie(Pitbull/German Shepherd mix). She loves this trail. I'm amazed that after 1 year she still remembered the way. Great memory and sense of smell. Love this dog.

Once we got back to the truck, i took their cargo bags off and let them hop into 4Runner. Immediately got comfortable. I think it was their way of telling me "NO MORE! please no more! haha

Poor dogs were out cold snoring within 5 minutes

Anyway that's enough pix on this thread. Just thought I'd share with you guys.
If you guys are curious to see more scenery i have a whole album of the full hike with tons an tons of pix of the beautiful views this place has to offer.

Great pics, ....and great pups, I second that! BTW, did Fabby not go? Group?

Thanks guys. it was a fun trip and i plan to start doing this once a week again like i used to. i know my dogs appriciate it and it's good for me to get my stamina back up and get back in to shape. Mark Faby didn't go this time. Her brother was at his dads house this weekend so Faby had to stay home to take care of her disabled mom. But she'll definitely come next time for sure. As for endurance I could have kept going. I felt good. what i meant by being exhausted is that since I've gone so long without hiking and working out i was really sore. But mentally i was good to go for more haha. It's all good. I just need to start off small. This weekend i'm gonna be going to the Eaton Canyon Hike in Pasadena. It's much shorter then the one i did this weekend. I figure i can do that one for 3-4 weeks, and run with the dogs on my week days. Then after a month i know my legs will be more used to the excorcise so i'll be able to do the 10 mile hike at Azusa easy. Dogs wont care so long as they get out into the wilderness

Unfortunately I feel bad for my Rottweiler. She's getting old. I never really noticed how old/slow she has gotten till this past weekend. She still loves it. And can keep up. But when it comes to climbing, going down a slope, crossing rivers(especially cold ones) she becomes very hesitant and i have to assist her(After 8 years I dont blame her). I'm thinking that maybe it hurts her bones/joints. I think after this year she might not be able to come along on these more advanced hikes anymore. Maybe the shorter/easier ones. I'd really hate for her to break a bone or get hurt 4 miles into that 10 mile hike(with only one way back to the car; the way you came) and have to carry her back as she cries on my back you know.

As for the little dog, Dang that dog never ceases to amaze me. She will follow me anywhere I go no matter what. She doesn't care if the water is 3 feet deep with a mildly/strong current. She will jump in and swim across(with her loaded up backpack of food/water). If she reaches a point that she is too short to jump up. she will get on her hind legs and wait for me to pick her up so she can continue. And if there is an obsitcal she cant cross and she will find her own way to catch up to me. She truely is a trooper; Everything Ive ever looked for in a dog. Gotta Love Man's best friend!

Thanks William. I'll have to look into that. I think loosing this dog will probably hurt me more then the last dog i grew up with for the first 15 years of my life. This Rottwreiler was her replacement. So i'd really like to stretch out her life as much as possible.

LOL... Mark is right about being in the 40s. I can still do it, just have to be a little more persistent and staying in shape.

Hey Terry,
Gotta keep at it dude. My dad has always been one of the most fit guys i have ever known. Huge power and muscles. but when diabetus got to him his all around muscle mass went down a ridiculous amount. you cant even tell he used to be fit. I see what happened to him and i get scared for my own health. so thats why i wanna keep up my shape and stay healthy you know. Especially because Diabetus runs in both my parents families so im actually more prone to get it then they are.
