Thanks for the info about the exhaust.
Right now I have just the pipe running through a cherry bomb.
Some one cut the Cat off in broad day light over a year ago.
I found a pair of un-used downey headers and cross over pipe a couple months ago.
Brand new CARB sticker included in the deal!

LiveOffRoad thanks for the compliment. I really appreciate feedback for what ive done. And yea dude. It's really rust free. The only part that does have some is the outer part of the driver side sliding camper windows. And that's only because i got that part off a donor truck at a local junk yard. And I half assed the install rather then Sanding and repainting it. Now after reading through many threads i wish I would have done that. I'm sure ill get to it eventually.

Note to self: check out this guys thread for Spartan locker + 36" tires. I just don't wanna loose this post lol. Gotta look back at it later on. This is also for you guys who were considering getting a spartan locker. I suggest you go through them and read.
1) And this link is for people running Spartan locker with 33+tires on another forum.http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f9/sp...r-35s-1358372/
2) BTW i just read on Marlincrawler.com and spartan lockers are only recommended for 35"and below. So im guessing theyve enhanced the product and made it more cabable to run a bigger tire size since it was recomended for 32's and below. Check it out:
http://www.marlincrawler.com/differential/locker
3) Here's another off Pirate 4x4:
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1063167
.
i have run the spartan locker in my rear axle for awhile now and i wheel it hard, ive had 39.5s on it and now i have 36s it holds up fine and is a noticably quieter than the lockright i had in my last truck.
still not a detroit but comparing the lunchbox lockers it seems the strongest and cause its still new the price is low

If you read through the thread in #1, .... it's stated in there, "Only for 32's and under is 'OLD NEWS'... That was only for caution while they were newer to the market"...
Yep, like I said, .... DEFINITELY look into them
Oh, .... PS> PM coming(reply).... See ya Richard

Oh yea I also read someone has been running 36 or 37's with one for years with no problem at all. I think I'm gonna get one for the rear.
I do, however, keep reading that its best to have a selectable locker in the front. Supposed to make it easier on turns.

Well, I'd read up on that, too.... I'm just NOT quite sure on the 'drama' factor on a SFA rig. I keep seeing "ON AN IFS RIG, GET SELECTABLE UP FRONT!" ... Which I get.. But anyway, curious on the one you're doing/ones like them.. Cuz it should be floating in 2WD, until you shift into 4WD, right? I'm not sure if it causes drama while 'round town' or not. I should know that, but I don't, hahaha. I KNOW that Drive Axles are the most common to want 'selectable' on, from what I've seen. I mean, your rear will always be engaged, street or off road... Front?

I'm hoping to have the truck smogged either today or tomorrow. Depending if my landlords are still in town and not camping. If not I'm gonna have to wait till next week on monday.
And yea Mark. It's a bummer but I gotta deal with it. That's just making me more motivated to et stuff done. I gotta start making my list of missing items so I can start ordering the parts when I do have money. I really wanna get all this stuff done within the year.

Lol sorry i was caught up in making some grub. Made some CEVICHE. For those of you who have never had it, CEVICHE is shrimp, chopped cucumbers, onion, chopped jalapenos/jalapeno juice from the can, finely chopped carrot, and a ton of lemon with hot sauce all served on top of a Tostada. (at least thats how i make it) AND DAMN IT HIT THE SPOT! Especially with this HOT weather. All that served with some freshly made Jamaica(spanish beverage).
And i began to marinated my Carne Asada for this weekend with chopped galic cloves/onion, with squeezed orange/lemon juice and vinigar and some steak seasoning. OH YEA! its gonna be good
Anywho back to my thread. I GOTS SOME GOOD NEWS! I went ahead and took my truck to get smog tested for the annoying CA SMOG! and i ended up passing on the first try! According to the tech i did extreamly good for my truck's year. This is the first time ive ever had any vehichle pass on the 1st time. I was literally nervous the whole time i was there thinking it might not pass for some miraculous reason. I'm so happy lol
Seriously this news really made my day. It's good to know that all my money, hard work, headaches, and time came out with a positive outcome. Im glad i did something right. Then again while he was checking out the truck he said not everyone comes in with a whole rebuilt engine, and all replaced diagnostics sensors with brand new exhaust either. So he said it was really good that i did all that.
Anyway CHEF I know you wanna see the paper so i scaned the paper. (for some reason my scanner cuts off the sides but w/e heres the info. THANK YOU ALL WHO HELPED ME WITH OPINIONS and all your threads. it probably wouldnt have been possible or so cheap without Yotatech.com

So i just got done going through all the receipts ive gathered since i bought the truck. and summed everything up. So far with all the labor from machine shop, radiator shop, and mechanic labor and ALLLLLL the parts ive bought for the interior, exterior, motor, and shoes and rims and literally just everything ive put into the truck and SFA SAS parts and 4" lift parts. Everything totaled up to the grand total of $5049.41 (and i know im missing about $100 of other stuff i know i bought but didnt have receipts for) and i bought the truck for $1400.
So in total with buying the truck, and EVERYTHING ive ever spent toward this truck(with the exception of gas of course) i have spent approx. $6449.41
Not bad i guess considering I practically have a brand new truck in an old truck's body. Right?
I dont think that is too bad. i would have ended up spending a good 5k more for a newer tacoma like i originally wanted and i would have probably still needed to spend some more $$$ fixing it up in one way or another. so i think $6.4k is a great deal for what ive got now! WOOT

Ahhh, you meant " zanahorias en escabeche " ........
LOVE IT! I get ticked when my favorite places are out of it! haha... Yeah, it works well... Anything with Vinegar AND Citrus(mostly Limon) is the ticket! WOOT! I have used Carrot Juice in MANY recipes, actually.... it's a fantastic flavor, if done right. I drink it just plain all the time, too. I'd probably be blind were it not for my drinking of it so much! OH< btw, .... I bet while sitting there today, you were craving a Mango Juice Squeeze, eh? hehe....NOW THAT would go great with Ceviche and Corn/fried Tostada Shells!!!MMMM! (I am NOT a fan of 'crackers' with it... ALWAYS preferred fresh fried tortillas).
AND YES, of course you can help! hahaha. I can't promise I wont be nearly done priming it by tomorrow... But I will probably have to wait til Saturday to paint it. and then I could REALLY use help when I have to install the side rails and such! Lil lacking in enthusiasm on the 'drilling through my nearly pristine roof/liner'... but meh, gotta give to get, some times, eh? haha.

Definitely expecting to pay a good $3000+ on more parts for the SAS parts, rear 5.29 gears, lockers and 14" travel walker evan shocks alone! DONT TELL MY Girlfriend lol (whiplash sound) hahaha! Plus if i dont end up doing the sas myself which i really honestly wanna do to save myself some $$$, but if push comes to shove where i need a professional to do it then i might end up spending even more $$$ to have the whole SAS/lift done. But i really am gonna try to attempt this SAS first
AND not only that, but after all these upgrades are done i still want to put a rear tire holder, and different front bumper whether its, ARB, Warn, or addicted offroad. then sliders ETC... OH and my Roof rack and also my offroad lights and winch(last)

Having an SAS done? PRICEY to say the least. BUT, that's what you want... so if that's what it takes, then you gotta bite the bullet, right?
You put into it whatever you feel will make you happy/save you time/etc., etc. I had lots of spare time last year and a lil of the former to get all that I did done on my own... And hey, I had a motor done! Then had to RE DO ANOTHER ONE, all within a year! So I've become a fan of 'DO IT YOURSELF', no doubt! BUT, ... I tell people all the time, "If you don't have time nor the experience just yet, but you need it, it's your DD, etc.... then let someone you can trust take a stab at it!" lol.
SAS is gonna leave you down for a lil while... So plan on that as well, ya know?(especially if you do it yourself). A pro can do it pretty quick... BUT, they don't always do so! hahaha. It would help if you could take your entire vacation and just have at it! ... But man, that's hard to give up for many people, I get that! haha.
Looking forward to it all, man!

Congrats on passing smog. I am sure that was a big relief. I hear you on having to wait til the next payday to get to start on the next project, but that is what makes these builds so special. When you get it done, you know of all of the sacrifices you had to do to get it to the point you want it to.
Doing a stockbuild usually isnt to bad, but when you start all of the nice upgrades that is where the money adds up. To go buy one the way you want it though would really be thru the roof. When you get done, you will have something to be proud of. I was looking at some used car prices and that was shocking enough for me to build one instead of buying one. Prices are crazy.
