Hi Guys i'm pretty sure i have found and solved the problem to my grounding issue/15amp fuse shorting out. I made a video to explain myself.

I took my under dash panel off and followed the wires from my kick panel leading to the alarm box which is mounted under my dashboard. And on top of that i found 2 other fuses; one which was blown(10amp fuse) You cant see it here but the 2 fuses are wrapped in that black electrical tape.

Now you can see it was blown.

Dont know if you guys recall but i might have mentioned it. I know i told Mark last night via Text. That i was able to get all my lights working again on the truck. but at the expense of my alarm system not being able to control those lights. Meaning whenever i would hit the unlock or lock buttons the lights wouldnt flash. Well This blown fuse is what makes those lights flash when the alarm buttons are hit. It isnt the main fuse that powers them when i turn my lights on(that would be the 15amp taillight fuse at the kick panel) . So now that you know that When i plugged in a new 10amp fuse i discovered that the lights all worked with the alarm system. Tested out the alarm system and (dash, tail light, licence plate, and marker lights) and even drove it around the block messing with the lights and still messed around with the lights. I found everything to work properly. So i think i fixed the problems i was having guys. (crossing fingers*)

---***Read after watching video if I still left you confused***---

The white wire im talking about is spliced off of a green wire with the blue line. That green wire with the blue line is linked to my 15 amp fuse at the kick panel fuse block(tail light fuse). Now the white wire leads to the main alarm system box that is located underneath my dashboard. Then from that box I have a different white wire which leads to the 10 amp red fuse. Remember that 10 amp fuse was blown. And that 10 amp fuse running off the white wire is linked to my tail light dashboard light and marker lights in the front separate from the 15amp fuse. I'm guessing on a 2nd circuit(the alarm circuit) because even without that fuse all my lights will work. It just doesnt work when i use my alarm. But when the red 10amp fuse is plugged in the lights work when i press my alarm buttons thus making my lights to flash.

I know im hard to understand through all the camera shaking and all my "Umms" in the videos but i hope i didnt lose you all.

Glad you figured that out, Richard. So you have after-market wiring there? You're right, what a hack job the P.O. had. I'd suggest that when you have time, figure out where in the stock wiring all those wires go before you install a new alarm.

even if its fixed
i wonder if you shouldnt isolate the alarm from the lights via a relay rich
alarm blinks the relay which flashes the lights instead of the current setup

Man, what a pain!, nice work, glad you were able to figure it out and get it fixed!
One of these days I need to tear into my rear back window, it recently quit working, it always used to go up and down with the key in the tailgate, but not with the switch mounted in the console, now it stop working altogether, and my rear windshield wiper has never worked, figured while I'm in there might as well upgrade and add a rear cargo LED light!

All the stock wiring is there. The only aftermarket wiring is to my electric door locks. And to that alarm system. He just tapped into the stock wire harness and left it all messy.

But I will however need to figure out which relay is to those power locks because I will need to know that once I take the alarm system out. 2 of the 3 relays will be getting taken out when I install the 2way car alarm.

That is the smarter way to set it up. But I really don't know how to do that lol either way I had in mind to order my new car alarm system by this coning up week. And the ebay vendor is in los angeles ca area so it shouldn't take too long to arrive. Ill just redo everything when that time comes.

Sup Red, more lights would definitely come in handy for any driver in those driving conditions. Some time it almost seems like the darkness overpowers our stock lights huh! I've had that happen to me in my car 2ce in Azusa canyon and in Palmdale where there are no street lights for miles. I was driving with my high beams on and I could barely make out what was in front of me. I hate being in that situation.

Do u think maybe your window motor burnt out? It almost sounds like you had a similar problem to what I had with my rear window. My key never worked in the back tailgate door for my window. Now that I replaced the switch with the one Mark had now it works. Its possible the previous owner had a jacked up switch and replaced it with one from another year.

Dang it. For the life of me I can't find that thread on how to incorporate turn signal blinkers into the front marker lights. Anyone know what I'm talking about here???
I'd like to do that before this weekend since one of my trailgear turn signals is out

Awesome dude. Thanks Will. The one I was looking for was a thread eith a ton of pix on how but either way the ones you linked will do. Im not sure ill be able to get to finish the job by tomorrow. Might have to ride up there with one bad front signal light.

I emailed Addicted offroad about my blown or defective signal light and he told me to contact trailgear. So I called T.G. and turns out that I'm still under warrenty but I have to ship the signal out to them on my tab. And they'll pay for the shipping back to me. But until I ship it out to them I won't have a signal for a a while. I was thinkibg of buying a cheap AutoZone LED turn signal(looks similar to TG's but a lil bigger. I figured I coukd use that for the mean time till I get it back. So ill have to get that done by tobight If I decide to do that. It shouldn't take too long to do anyeay. Its just 2 wires.

Don't you still have your corolla to use? just park the runner. I'm not positive, but I think you can use hand signals in the day and be ok, check the dmv site. Your rears still work though right? otherwise I wouldn't rely on hand signals.

Grego you're right. I do have the corolla still. And I do use it every day. Its my DD. But the reason I wanted to hurry and fix the turn signal was because of Saturday's offroad trip. And I know it gets pitch black on the way back home.

Thanks for the hand signal suggestion. I had totally forgotten about that lol

And yes the tail lights and rear turn signals work. All the lights work now. Its just the one defective turn signal in the front passenger side.

Maybe Eric will return it for you if you bring it to him on the way out there. You have to take the 91, and I'm not sure you're leaving early enough,... But it's just an idea. Actually he would probably ship you one today if you work it out with him on the phone but you're going to send the other one. What do you mean you have to mail them mounting tab with it ?

Wait till you see my awesome turn signal mod for my front bumper. Super hi tech zap straps. Held up over a year so far.

Im excited for this wheeling trip.

I think that is BS that addicted told you to call TG. Why buy from a vendor if they don't even see you thru your order.
Front signal isn't a big deal if its out. Leave it on there and if you get pulled over. SAY it must have went out just now. Wait till after your trip and return it. Or just slap the stock lens on for now if you have to have a light

Yea I disliked that they had me do that too. Usually when you buy from vendors they usually honor defective products; at least from my experience. I spoke with mark already and I'm just going to use some stock turn signals as an alternative until I'm able to replace mine.

I got a bunch accomplished today.
But sorry for passing up my 2gb bandwidth again lol Click on the picture that photobucket replaces with my pics and you will be redirected to my pictures. Check it out.

rushed home to cut the Harbor Freight D-Ring hitch. And i was finally able to make the hitch fit after cutting off about 1/4" off the top of that square plate.

Went to AutoZone to buy a new LED light for about $7. I the Autozone LED light is slightly bigger then the TG one and there is no ground wire. the wire gets grounded to the body. So i would have to either ground with a screw or with a ring terminal on the end.
Here is the Autozone LED compared to the TG one.

Anyway i found this so freekin funny... Once i clipped the wires off the current TG light i got curious and thought the toyota plug might be bad. But when i tested out the plug connections i found that it was fine. Then i got the wires off the TG turn signal and connected it directly to the battery; connecting the black to ground and the white to power but the light still didnt work. Just remember i have the other side connected like that(with black to(-) and white to (+) and the driver side works perfectly. Well Im assuming TG wired up the white and black wires backwards because when i tested out the light with the wires backwards the damn thing lit up!

So in the end i connected the passenger side with the white wire(on tg side) to the white wire with black line and red dots( on the toyota side) Then i wired the black wire(TG side) to the green wire with yellow line(toyota side).

Here is a cluster of 3 pix. I had my hazard lights working on the top picture. On the bottom left i had already soldered and heat shrunk each wire. The bottom right picture i heat shrunk both wires together. And after that(not pictured) i used the plastic flex and wrapped it with electrical tape.

So after all this crap about the TG turn signals and it turned out they work fine lol just that the stupid wires were backwards So Now i have a spare LED light. I might just return the LED light. Or buy another LED and use one LED in each front marker light to add a corner view of my turn signals. I'll let you guys know how i do it when it comes.

That's all for today guys.

Automotive wiring itself is confusing. However, remember that +12V (alt-to-battery wire, etc uses solid white, but ground uses white with black stripe. or maybe it's just Toyota's.

So TG's wiring if it were to follow that standard closely should have
White for +12V and black for gnd.
Richard,
You mean TG wires are inconsistent between one and the other signal light?

Wishing you a good trip this weekend,
Ray

he said one of the TG led light was wired backwards (colors didnt match with his other one, usually the black wire is ground) one of his TG black wire had to be wired to positive and TG white to negative lol at least that is how i read it. TG is local to me and i know tons of wheelers and vendors. i trust the guys that has been there done that and tell me what is good and bad. i rather not get into it unless someone wants to know.
