Sorry to hear about your dog and glad you're able to find a way to work it out.
The butt dragging is a clear sign that they are nearing full and need servicing. My dog just started again on that....sigh.
It's yucky, but you can do it yourself easily and quickly with a helper to hold her still:
With her standing on all fours, hold her tail strigh up (this is key - push against it if she fights, to make it stand perp. to the ground). While holding her in place and her tail stright up with one hand, use the other in a "C" grip (pretend like your hand is grabbing hold of a softball bat's barrel, where your thumb and fingers don't compeltely meet and there is about a 1" gap between them). Then, move your "C Clamp" of a right hand so that your thumb and fingers rub up against her touch, just under the pooper....as you press your hand against the skin there, you'll feel the 2 glands because they are harder than the skin around them.....try to work your fingers and thumb around and behind the 2 glands and then slowly squeeze them togehter and move your hand upward toward the pooper - you'll start to see (and smell) the brown juices as they come out the pooper. Do this a few times until you no longer see any discharge.
I use a nitrile glove on my "expressing" hand and a shop rag under her rear to catch and wipe up later.
Sorry for the graphic nature guys! There are videos out there too if you want to see in action. Took me a few times to get a good sense for it - but it's good for her health and saves money!
Hope she feels better soon!

Wow! Lol.... jk, it's nothing compared to some of stiff I've endured over the last few years, care giving and such.
Good chatting today, Richard! Wishing you the best, all around.

Now that I think about my buddys rig, he has 35x15x15 swampers, so that adds to the lack of steering with the locker. But it seems like it should unlock/ratchet some.

Ed, Tuef, I guess I've joined your club of bump stop laggers because I have a few months already without installing them too lol
Ed glad you like the bumper. I wish I had time to mass produce them so I could sell them. But that's really a pain in the butt to do when It ain't for your own rig. I'm sure you could relate lol.
Philbert. Thanks. It was a bit graphic but I got a strong stomach for juicy stuff like this. Lol ill definitely have to look those videos up because like you said it does get expensive. And these vets are quick to charge ridiculous prices.
Mark, it was great talking to ya. Thanks for the advice. And let me know if you're up for a Big Bear trip this weekend. I haven't confirmed he trip with my neighbor yet but ill let ya know. If we do go it will be on a sunday. Okay.
EDIT:
Shouldnt matter at all. My neighbors both run 35/12.5/r15 bfg MTs and have no problem at all with being dual locked.
Granted one of those run chevy axles but the other truck runs stock toyota axles like me. And he has absolutely no problem steering.
My last offroad trip to Big Bear running the lockers was great. I loved it! And my steering was just as good as running 2wd on the street. I'm not sure what your friends problem might be. Thats a weird one.
I'm assuming the 15" width of the tire has a lot to do with it though.
-----------------------------------------
Btw I wanted to share this picture compilation I put together. Her face is priceless! We had just left the vet and she stuck her head out the window. Can you read her face? You can almost match her face with Mel Gibson's Bravehart movie. "FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!" LOL

Hahaha, that totally cracked me up, Will! Lol. ..... "Bravepup"... hehe. ..
Right on, Richard.... I'm totally wanting to go. I just have to get the floor buttoned up. May be able to squeeze in the CB install... Wish I could stay a couple days before or after......OR BOTH! Haha
GREAT pix!

Will, I seriously think that is what my dogs think when i give them baths outside. They dont care too much when I bathe them inside the restroom with the warm water. but boy do they hate it when i wash them outside with the water hose. Especially my little one Sophie.
Mark just stuff some pool noodles in to fill the gaps for the mean time lol

Glad to see doggie is doing better. Got a laughout of the leash bit. Your bumper turned out great and the truck looks to flex quite well. I have been checking in, seems like I am stick in slow motion and taking all day to do it but trying to stay caught up on threads.

Hi guys haven't been on too much lately. Been having touble at work and not sure how things are going to go for me wituon a weeks time. Not sure if I'm gonna have a job or not. So this has not only been a stressful time but also been having a horrible time on the job too. Mark knows what I'm talking about already.(thanks for the talk the other day) anyway. I haven't done much at all. And all things that cost money to do will be placed on hold temporarily until I figure out what my jobs outcome will be. As of right now I am applying for other jobs and jist taking my stress out with a nap anf then working out after work every day.
Anyway here are some of the things I got done this week.
Swapped out my black steelies and BFG M/Ts with the original SR5 rims and Sport King All Terrains. My reason for this is because I don't want to waste my good tires on the street when I have some perfectly good all terrains sitting in the garage with 1/4" thread left. So Ill be sporting this set up untill they go pretty bare. After that ill sell the rims and tires or recycle the rims. Idk...
I honestly done like the rims at all. Dont like the off set. Dont like how in the rims/tires sit. And I'm so used to the chunkiness of my Mud terrains that having all terrians just seem a bit weak for my taste now lol. But I gotta swallow my pride. This tred will grip much better on the street. And it will keep me from wasting my good set of tires for the mean time.

And today I got to cutting the pieces to my bump stop towers. The height will need to be shortened about 1/4" but at least they are cut already.

My pleasure bubba! Really sorry you're dealing with it all!
I think is a smart move , Richard. .. We all have to do what we have to do... And remember, it's only going to save you money for now... Which is only good! Am I right? Lol. My mom almost got ripped off for 2 grand today, which would have ended up really being on me,... so like I always say... "Anything can happen, and it usually will... To always be prepared as best as we can is not stupid or cheap... It's respectful of us to be a good stewards of what we have..... and what we might not have any given moment." I admire this move and if I had all terrains to throw on I might just do the same.
Nice work on the stop towers! Hang in there buddy, you got a good head on your shoulders and you're very motivated... You will be fine, just keep making wise decisions, even if it starts rolling in again...

Good luck with the job hunt Richard, I know the feeling. Go through that every March during budgeting session for the past 4 years. We've laid an entire department and some from each department every year just to make a balanced budget. I have no idea what "recovery" we're on here that the L.A. Times and the media keeps publishing and talking about....none of the cities are seeing it in revenues.
Smart move switching the tires no matter what you think. Just know there are a lot of "in the know" guys, including me
, who shake their heads
at guys driving on the streets day in and day out with big ol' mud tires. Who in their right mind would waste the tread on expensive tires and gas money, not to mention the wear and tear on the brakes. I can spot the hardcore city slicker off-roaders from a distance because they have high lifts and standard tires going the speed limit!

Sorry to hear about the job, I know what your going through with the stress and being anxious, I've lost 3 jobs since 2006 due to permanent plant closures! That was our main reason for moving, just needed a fresh start in a new place you know. Hang in there bud, I'm sure everything will work out for you! BTW your 4runner is still showing attitude with the skinnier tires, I think it looks tuff, plus your saving miles on your MT's I'd do the same if I had a second set for my runner!

Sorry to hear about the job issue. It is stressful with the jobs today, but it also forces you into change that might be a blessing in disguise. Maybe you can get work in the metal fabbing field. If you can find a job you enjoy, it really does make a big difference in life.

Wow thanks for all the support guys. Was a nice surprise to see this many people comment about this work drama. I haven't checked YotaTech in a couple of days. I will reply to you all in the morning. Thanks guys. I just wanted to give you all a quick little update.
Yesterday Faby's 2003 tacoma with the 2.7L 4cyl began to shake while at stop lights/signs. Then it would just turn off. No Check engine light(no its not blown), all oils and fluids are topped off. Temperature is fine. This problem would mainly occur while the truck is still cold. And approx 20 min after driving at idle too. I used my C.E.L. code reader and there were no codes. But there was however 5 codes under pending codes. Andthose came up as P0300(Multiple cylinder misfire), P0301(misfire in cylinder 1), P302(misfire in cyl 2), P0303 (Mis on 3), and P0304(misfire on 4) We seriously didn't know what the heck it was. So I jumped online check a ton of tacoma forums, and found a vast array of problems it may be and what people did to fix them. This problem could be something as simple as a small vacuum leak causing this problem to something as having to replace a head! YES I KNOW HUGE DIFFERENCE in price yes? Lol
Another thing that I saw more of was oil leaking into spark plug area, bad compression, and most of all one or more multiple BAD COILS! So we drove out to Faby's uncles shop and was told to remove the 4 spark plugs. So we did just that. Spark plugs looked perfectly fine. And no oil leaking into it. And then when we inspected the coils we saw that all 4 were original toyota coils. I don't think they've ever been replaced. When I squished the protectice rubber on all the spark plug connector ends they all had a smal crack across them. And then the last coil I looked at had the same problem but only this one had a small chunk missing. Id imagine that woukd be what is causing the problem. Spark is probably leaking past through that chunk of missing rubber and arcing onto the block. So we bought one new coil for $63 and installed that. The other 3 still looked okay. Those would probably keep up well so long as she replaces them with her next check. So we drove to my house amd let it sit. And while it sat we worked on my trucks passenger side bump stop. We just drove from my parents house to her house and she said the truck didn't stall like before. There was just one incident and that was it but it was very slight and it didn't turn off. But the rest of the stop and go trip on the street was perfectly fine. Talk about getting lucky huh. Well we'll see how a few more days of driving will go. Hopefully that's all it needed.
