One step at a time, indeed! And as with mine, the "lil unforeseen gremlins" can sidetrack you over and over.... but eventually, we turn them into what is often, IMHO, a more reliable and durable "thing" than many of the "things" they are putting out for $35K today....... Just with less "Modern gizmo's"....many of which can be modded in as well!
Can't wait to see it and rack my brain over other ways to improve it with ya'all!

thats the problem child right there the smaller plate on its shaft is the primary it has the idle circuit through its bore the shafts take a lot of wear from the side pull of the cable an brackets toyota made they leak an thus air bypasses the proper air an fuel circuts causing idle issues and off idle acceleration which also blows the emissions to heck

Ah ok. I was just wondering. Come Monday or so I will have available a fork lift. I wild install / weld the lower rubber bump stop on. Cycle through / flex the leaf spring up and tack weld the upper stop where it goes as positioned via its contact with the rubber lower. Should work.

I know they're clear in the video I did but I could get pics if ya want.

Nichts zu danken! I will take a lot better pictures today. I realize the video is a great tool but not so good for getting ideas as its difficult to get perspective without markers or "to scale" tools.

Teuf, I don't wanna distract from all the cool stuff that Richard has going on... So I will just repost the video on my build. .... In my sig if you need it....
Keep kicking arse, Richard! Can't wait to get out there with you again. I had one thought on going to such a large spring... I don't think it's going to hurt in anyway and you will certainly get tons of travel.... I just think maybe they are a little bit of a stiffer rating.... So ask them if it would be good to leave a little weight besides the bumper in the back while on the trail. This is going to be so bitchin man! And wow, how cool of them! Very good customer service...I'm impressed! I'm curious on adding or leaving some weight when on those larger Springs... As far as what they say, can you let me know?

I really don't mind stiffer. Because the rear has already been stiffer after adding the extra leafs in my current rear leaf packs. So I'm sure it will either be the same if not softer then my current springs.
It definitely won't be as stiff as trail gear heavy duty springs. Because AllPro doesn't make HD ones. Mine are specifically for rock crawling as far as Kurtis from AllPro told me. Not meant for carrying a heavy load because they were designed specifically for rock crawling. Flexing and articulation.
What I originally should have done was to buy some HD 4 and 5" lift springs from trail gear instead but meh... its ok. I'm sure this choice I went with is gonna work out great. Ill let you guys all know what my outcome is.
I want to remove both rear springs and shackles today right after work. But it might be kind of hard to do it because of the heavy rain fall we are expecting tonight. We had some rain, thunder and lightning last night and that was pretty bad. So I hope I finish removing everything before the rain comes because I need to do all the work in my driveway and I don't have a tarp to cover my work area up.
If it rains then I might not be able to do the work meaning I'd have to wait for another week to do take the springs. I'm hopibg for the best though.

Alright guys it began. Went to All-Pro. New location actually located in Perris Ca. So its a few miles closer. Round trip was anout 155miles or so and a total of about 3.5 hours for a round trip. Anyway I really am satisfied with these guys. I exchanged my leaf springs for the 6" lift. And I was gonna exchange the 4" shackles for 6" ones. But he said it was fine. Just to go ahead and keep them in case i ever wanna go lower. And for me to keep the 6" ones.
I'm telling ya I love this place. Just really wish it was closer.
Started off with measuring the current heighy with al the weight on the bumper and tire swing loaded up. Sitting at 8&3/8"

New rear 6" lift leaf springs. Has 9 springs.

Shiney new 6" shackles next to the 4" ones.

Phone was gonna die. Ill take after shots once it charges up. But I can definitely tell ya. It sits perfect now. Perfectly level. Well just a tad bit taller in the rear. But after driving it around for today and tomorrow I'm sure they'll settle down and level out with the front more.

Alright guys here we go.
33" tires with my massive load in the rear end and 6" lift rear leaf springs came out to
9&3/8". So i got one more inch of lift after the rear bumper made my rear sag. not bad.
good thing is i didnt have to use the extensions for the ebrake.

Truck sits evenly now.

But the rear seems to be moved forward slightly. I'm wondering if maybe i need to turn those leafs around.... It's not horrible. Maybe just 1" more forward from the center. if i turn them around im gonna have the tire further back like i had in my last set.

See this is the old 4" springs that i had. see how the rear is slightly back.

I'm wondering if i should just leave the springs as is. or if i should move them 1" closer to the rear. either way the driveshaft wont need altering.
I think this is like this because i never installed the rear 2 hangers for the rear. we only put the 2 that go on the front side for the rear leafs. I believe they are installed correctly. they just never got the 4 rear hangers positioned correctly.... jeez.
EDIT:
Yea that's what it is. I have them installed facing the right way. We just have the hangers a bit too far forward. I installed the last leaf springs backwards purposely because of how far forward they were. But whatever looks like its gonna stay this way.
Btw these springs feel so freekin smooth now that I don't hace those extra leafs in the rear. The last ones made then feel stiff. And these feel great!

Got some great news and some bad news.
Bad news is that my parents Rottweiler(which is pretty much my dog because I grew up with her) has gotten an infected anal gland for the 2nd time. Last time happened about 2 years ago. Its all inflamed and puss like. And we just got her back from the vet this past monday with a $600 bill. And today we seen the infection is back. So my mom took her to the vet again and "because he felt bad he charged her less this time" and is "only" gonna charge her $400 well my parents have been kind of tight with money. And I have been making big payments on my credit card to pay off quickly. So I haven't been paying them as much as I normally do. And my dad came to the decision. Well we don't have the money. Put her down. I was like wtf??? She's perfectly healthy! How are you gonna put her down. Heck no. She doesn't deserve that. Shes a great dog and although she is 8 that is no reason to let her go like that. No way! So I'm volunteering to pay the massiglve bill for them. But due to no money at all because of my credit payments. So I'm thinking of paying them out though paypal once again adding a balance to my debt. Jeez I love that damn dog. I've lost one dog before and I surely won't put another down. Especially if she is perfectly healthy. Its just a mere infected anal gland come on....!
Anyway. Due to a massive lack of funds all projects are gonna be placed on hold for a while. No front bumper. No winch, LED lights etc etc.
On the bright side. My good news is. That my next and only project for a while is going to be my Power Windows/Mirrors. I have everyhing I need to do the install. So this will be at no cost to me.
Anyway. I picked up this newer, better conditioned power window master switch from Mark who recieced it from Eric of YotaTech to give to me. And I decided to test all the contacts with my MultiMeter. And when I opened it I was amazed at how clean and shiney it looked compared to the one I had lol. And good news is that all the contacts work great! So power window/mirror mod coming soon!
