Thanks guys!!!

Well after 6 years, my TG 4.7 gears gave up. Bearings and case all look ok (but I got new bearing anyway). Im assuming my 4.10 diff gears have something to do with it but too late now. I have a set of SUMO 4.7 gears on order. As soon as they show up Ill be back to crawlin.

SUMOs came in last week and got everything back together and so far working great. Also took the opportunity to put fresher bearings in the case.

Me too, even more so when all the teeth are still there!

Couple trips out since my last update, everything going well! Sliced a sidewall on a rear tires, so all 4 have tubes in them now. I have another set of tires to swap over, just trying to get all my moneys worth out of these first. They have good tread, the sidewalls are just getting very dry rotted.

My rear shocks are blown from running no bump stops and bottoming out for 6 years. I have set of the 13" f250 shocks and another set of ferd towers coming to re work the upper mount and a set of the same little poly bumps Im running in the front.

And a few shots from last Saturday in New Hampshire:

And measuring shock stuff. My current setup the shock stops the leaf right at flat. So ill make the bump hit there, and give the shock a bit extra so it wont bottom out. The 12" shocks (part numbers #34685) have a 16.5 closed body, and the 13" (Part # 34687) have a 18" compressed, so the new mounts will stick up a few inches higher.

19 Tundra SR. yes, 4x4 (its a must where there is snow on the ground 5+ months of the year) , 5.7, 8' bed. "work truck" package, which is basically base model with tow mirrors, trailer brakes, 4.30 gears, limited slip rear, "vinyl" bench seat and rubber floor mats.. I got it in June of '19 with 64 miles on the odometer. It could use some airbags or timbrens in the rear, but Im just leasing it for now. If I end up owning it ill put something in to help the rear end hold weight, but that depends on what the 2022 tundra has to offer!

Its no superduty, but I was working on my last ford ALL THE TIME. This has been nothing but trouble free miles. Its actually going in for its 20k service this afternoon.

Its super handy for sure. 16' canoe? Sure just throw it in the back. Need to move 4 washing machines? Oh sure, plenty of room. lol. Snowmobile? motorcycle? Lawnmower/atv? Just toss it in and close the tail gate. Haha. A little tight in small parking lots (22 feet long total, 45 with the trailer) , but whatever, just park in the back and walk. I could use the steps. lol

I hope they keep that option for the 3rd gen tundra. That and I heard the v8 is going away.. . thats why Im not sure if ill be buying this one out at the end of my lease or trading it in.

Getting out of my price range here, but pretty sure it was just the 4.7 in the runners (either way I want one) . But the sequoia got the 5.7 . Im really happy with it, pulls my trailer awesome, gets 14 mpg around town and 8-10 towing the trailer, but I didnt buy it for the MPG. (my f250 got 9) And my 12lb dog loves the bench seat.

At the local dealer yesterday getting the 20 k done. 0 tundras for sale on the lot. The only two 4runners were sold. They did have a small handful of tacos. But there was tundra across the street in an over flow lot. My trucks mirror twin! Had to snap a picture. lol.

only 4.7s were in the 4runner and that’s because the 4runner split sharing the Tacoma platform after 2002.

Got the rear shocks and bumps re done and tested. monroe 13" "f250" shock and f250 towers again, but this time so the shock doesnt bottom out. Made some bumps from some scrap and some energy suspension bump stops. Same ones Im running in the front. For $13 for the pair, you cant beat em.

rattlewagon's 1992 Pickup Build-Up Thread-sucatqul.jpg

I ended up making them a bit to long, but just trimmed the bump stop to compensate. they hit the u bolt plate right between the nuts when the leaf is just past flat.

I was told there would be more snow here (its about 2 hours south of my place) thats why the chains are still on. Another week or so up here and they will be off for the season.
