I stopped using photobucket around 2013/page 14. So images after that should be ok for the most part. The internet was a different place when I started this thread in 2010. Haha

Bought the truck in April of 2007 as a daily driver. Got it from a old man who primarily used it to tow his 16 foot camper. It was pretty clean for being a New England truck. Drove it as is for a couple months. First time wheeling. Went april camping. burrrr Stock wheelin from 2007: https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1291080078 https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1291080118 Next was a cap and 30x9.5 BFG Ats. Loved those tires. Daily drove and wheeled it like that for a bit, then found a killer deal on some 33x12.5 General Grabber MTs on American Racing Outlaw IIs. Traded the cap for a bed cover. Love craigslist. Another cheap cap of CL, cant beat em! https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/.../truckside.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ruckarena2.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...truckarena.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ruckalmost.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...03/mytruck.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ineuparena.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/.../bluetruck.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...Beaverpond.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...883782_n-1.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7e0864e9.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6c0731c9.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5098ad94.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps43f2f1a1.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps93b0658d.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...psa4505d9e.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7afb1de5.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps7ef03a8f.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...psce73b21d.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps65d53155.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps84f22415.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3b249772.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...psb924c5bc.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps96a5ceb0.jpg https://i179.photobucket.com/albums/...ps48a75765.jpg Scratches, dents, broken parts all came. 2 years later I pickup a 87 4runner to dd and switch into TR mode. Sludge in the engine, combined with high RPMS caused 2 spun bearings in on the crank. Bought a 95 45unner for parts. Sold off all of the parts I didnt use and broke even on the truck. Motor and gears for the DD fo freeeeeeeee. Again, I love CL. http://images1.snapfish.com/23232323...27968335nu0mrj motor gank http://images1.snapfish.com/23232323...57443335nu0mrj Both outside motorless http://images1.snapfish.com/23232323...55879335nu0mrj http://images1.snapfish.com/23232323...78%3A335nu0mrj Both trucks next to each other. http://images1.snapfish.com/23232323...B3854335nu0mrj As it sits now. Wating to be put back together. Goal is to have it running by spring. My shop is 1.5 hours away from where I live, at my parents house/shop. So I dont get to work on it all that much. Its been a slow process. http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6590117_n.jpg Thanks for stopping by! Its now been 3.5 years since the first pic and the odo is at 154k. |
I like it! The long wheel base and bobbed bed combo looks great.
|
Sub'd! Nice build. Also loving the extra cab and bobbed bed, dont see those too often.
I know you found the bed cover on CL, but do you know of any sites that sell bed covers for 3rd gen trucks? |
i love stock wheelin pictures!! haha :great:
|
Not sure on the bed cover. This one was made by Extang, and it worked very well. I sent you a PM about it.
Thanks for the comments! |
I see, thanks though. I will look into it.
|
Nice Build man, those 35's make it look like a monster. hope u get it running again soon.
|
Just picked up a winch the other day. Warn XD9000i. I dont know if it works or not, havent had time to test it yet. Needs a cable and the cover for the solinoids. But it freespools like a champ. I only paid $50 for it, found it on CL.

Just bought a solid axle, missing a short shaft, but comes with complete IFS hubs.$100 from a guy in my club who has TONS of parts.
http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/u...y/100_2440.jpg http://i653.photobucket.com/albums/u...y/100_2443.jpg Also had time to finally test the winch. No workie. It just clicks when it goes I push in or out. I know pretty much nothing about how these work, so I might just take it to a shop... |
You should be able to get a rebuild kit for the winch. I would check *warn's* website.
|
And actually i found the part of warn's site you need. you just need the serial # off of your winch and plug it in.
http://www.warn.com/store/service_parts.jsp |
ur truck looks nice with the mods youve done cant wait to see it running
|
Hey thanks authority. The winch is on a back burner right now, aka in my closet. Ill get the truck running before I start spending money on the winch and the axle.
My 87 has been pulling all my time and funds away from this truck lately. |
Looks good can't wait to see the SAS done, and a word of advice, Go for a three link forn with coils or coilovers you wont regret it, i love my rear coils on my runner and wish so bad i would of saved up and did a three link front instead of a leaf sprung one
|
Ill be going leafs. Im thinking RUF so keep it cheap and low as possible with descent flex for leafs. Simple and durable. Picking up a short shaft at a NEA4WD club meeting in MA on the 8th.

Havent updated in a while. Pics from pulling the motor.
http://images1e.snapfish.com/2323232...8%3B7335nu0mrj Rolled the blue truck out and drove the runner in at just after noon. Had the motor and tranny pulled by 5 (we were a little less careful with this one) http://images1e.snapfish.com/2323232...8%3B2335nu0mrj http://images1e.snapfish.com/2323232...57443335nu0mrj Tore the old motor apart more. Cause of death to this motor was that it was starved for oil. Also, one of the pistons had a chip in the top of it. http://images1f.snapfish.com/2323232...B3478335nu0mrj Pic of the chipped piston. http://images1e.snapfish.com/2323232...4%3A2335nu0mrj The plum size oil/metal sludge that came out of the pan. And this past weekend was finally able to get some work done now that the runner is up to code. Timing bet is on, valves are adjusted, intake is on! http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1296443818 With the shims from the old heads and mixing them around, was able to get everything in to spec at one try! Was kinda fun really. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1296443835 http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1296443900 http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w...g?t=1296443974 |
Motor is ready to go in! Ill be diggin the truck out of the snow tomorrow and bringin it in.
