I am going to steal your bump stop extension idea! Been throwing around my head how to get proper use from bump stops with my recent lift... yeay
I like how you just left the chains on in the dry. lol
There was SOME snow and frozen ground still.. but yeah, not right there.. they are pretty tough, I figure skidders leave them on year round.. lol Plus they leave cool scratch marks on the rocks. Still about a foot of snow in the woods by my house, but the fields are becoming bare. They will probably come off for the season this weekend or next.
Heres another shot just because. This was fresh out of the garage testing the rear bumps.
truck is looking awesome man!
i haven't made it through your whole thread yet, but the most recent looks👌
did you make up your diy beadlocks yet?
Thank you! And no I haven't. A local guy was supposed to make them for me but keeps coming up with delays. About to bail on him and get some TMIs though...

damn, well good luck
i checked out the tmi's, look nice
Beadlocks are finally happening! Had a friend with a shop cut and weld them on for me. He sent me these pics, Ill be picking them up today and hopefully painting and mounting them this weekend.
Those look like some nice bead locks! I like your plan of finding friends with fabrication shops, I might have to try that... good luck and post pictures when you're done

Thanks!
Heres a shot of my beat old tires. I've been running them for 6 years. 3 have tubes in them. Still have ok tread, but wicked dry rotted. This is the worst one. Thats the tube coming out through that gash, been wheeling it like tis for about a year and a half. Keeping my old tires/rims as spares for now.
And on to the new
My friend with the table did the welding also, as hes much better than I am. Also had him close the valve stem hole up so I could move it up to a more accessible part of the rim.
The back side, I used short 1.25/.453 stems and a 7/16th drill bit for the new hole.
They say to use silicone on the bead to help with leaks, but through some webwheelin, I found zuks build thread, says hes using this stuff. Says its flexable and isnt too hard to dismount the tire if I need to, so I figured id give it a shot. I did both beads just to be sure, and also 2 wraps of gorilla tape on the inner bead. Just trying to be proactive while everything easily accessible.
And together they go.
Im usually an all black everything guy, so the yellow ads a nice pop of color to the truck.

Thanks! Heres a few more. Pumped to finally have them on the truck. Got a few events in the next moth, so they will be put right to the test. Been running them around with 6psi in the front and 3/4 in the rear. still no leaks. Thats the same pressure I was running with my old tires and no beadlocks, and i never lost a bead. Hoping to have the same luck with these.
Broke an inner star/race in an original longfield, which also took the splines off the outer end of the long side shaft. Bummer. Ive been running this shaft since 2014, so hoping it was just tired. The bell still looks good so Im hoping I can rebuild it for a spare.
Also installed some super low buck rock lights.. lol
Dana 44 and RCV toyota birfields use the same rebuild parts. I had a friend who blew up his RCV d44 bell , but still had the balls and star. Figured id give it a try, but it clicked a lot, so new RCV birfield will be here some time next week.
I replaced the above with a rcv bell and two weeks later did the same thing to the short side, broke the inner star and stripped the shaft. My front birfs/shafts are now all RCV with the exception of the long side shaft which is TG. Been working great so far.
Did a little foliage cruise in Jericho NH this past Monday

Long overdue, but got some real harnesses. Hand me downs from a race car friend. Harness bar welded to the body with some 4x8 plates and some right angle brackets to attach it to the floor using the rear seat mount bolt.
