The interior is super clean and complete so i would hate to hack out the factory auto console at this point. For a vehicle sitting in a feild for 13 yrs its doin up to par for me.
Awesome buddy. I wish I could have seen your mom freaking out when you were off roading the runner

I would just leave the auto trans till it doesn't would probably be better off road anyhow. Not worrying about drifting back when starting off on a steep angle.

I can't wait to see this thing in person!!

Im not sure what my gears are but i didnt have to touch the gas in 4low and it crawls pretty good. Granted its idling a lil high. Heater works good. rear defrost, wiper, window working good. But i do have a oil leak and i havent pinpointed it yet but im suspicious it might be the rear main!!!!

That's great that its running good. I hope it's not your rear main. That's always a pain in the a$$. Double check your rear half moon seal on the head, valve cover. That's where mine was leaking and I thought it was a rear main.

Just wanted some opinions on my distributor, to get my timing where it needs to be i have it adjusted all the way to one side of the slotted portion on the distributor housing. Is it posiible im a tooth off??I always thought it should be somewhere in the middle. My idle is to high and i dont find any vacuum leaks. Every once and awhile the idle will surge like its still a tps problem, I shouldnt adjust the throttle stop screw to get the idle correct.

Thats what i think too. Thanks for the input. I also think my oil leak is coming from the rear main seal. I checked with my inspection mirror behind the valve cover and everything is nice and dry, but leaks when running between the tranny and flywheel cover, i was almost thinking id have to pull the motor, or if i pull the tranny can i get the seal out and replaced without taking the rear main seal housing off?? Also cleaned all the crap accumulated in it over two years of working on it and found the restt of my tools ive been missing!!
I like the 32s on it plenty of clearance even with my factory mudflaps, dont rub at all. It still needs aligned, maybe ill drop it off tomorrow. Imm lookin for rear replacement qaurters now or if i have too ill cut the rust out and go with flares. But i like the factory look. Im gonna get some POR15 and stop the rust for now. By the way it sucks going down county roads the dust sucks right through the rusted out portion into the rear cargo area. It turned my dog from black to grey haha!!

Still not back from alignment, but i scored a drivers wing window to replace my broken one. Also planning on putting in the spartan locker in rear.

Also anyone know what the bracket on the rear cargo door is underneath thats suppost to maybe assist in lifting it up to shut it? Mine seems to bind up and drag.??? Also scored a sr5 cluster but ive never seen an auto 1st gen w sr5 cluster so maybe it would be better to keep it the way it is. Also wanna do led dash lights, whats the best place to get them??

Hi dude. Just checking in getting caught up on all my subbed threads since ive been away of YT for a while.

I have had great experiences with SuperBrightLEDs.com
I have the bulb sizes, prices, and pretty much everything you need to know on my dash board light thread here:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f131...unners-258106/

Only thing i recommend is make sure you buy all the bulbs you're gonna want, and might be smart to order a few spares. because i think shipping is automatically $10 or something like that. So its best to have some in case it ever goes out. Mine still havent gone out.

Thanks for posting that thread rich. I've also been thinking about going led.

Chris, I think I might have another bracket for the bottom of the tailgate at the shop. I think it's just to help assist the gate down. But from my experience, it just binds up and makes it harder to open.

Thanks for the info on th leds Richard!

Yea Mark WTF on the rear gate thingy??!! It does seem to be some type of assist to help lift it up. So Ive NEVER had the gate down since ive owned it (oh yeah and the tops never been removed in my opinion) anyways I go to put it down and it kinda goes like 3/4 down and then stops, so i try again same thing, then im like and put a lil pressure on it and a loud pop happens and it goes down. whoops. im like....why did you do that dumba$$??and i crawl underneath and theres a plastic clip thingy centered under the cargo area where that long bar assist dealy is. Hopefully this makes some sense.

Also dude never got my alignment done yet and i have a drivers wing window to replace (thanks to the ahole who was mowing on rock and broke it out) WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP THERE MOWERBLADE ENGAGED ON ROCK AND GRAVEL!!??

Dude, I didn't know the window got blown out by a rock from a mower!!! I would have been pissed!! I'm going to get under my truck when I get to work in the AM an check out that spring thing under the gate. I think I have a spare setup on my extra tailgate that you could use if you need it.

I dunno alot about runners functionality compared to the trucks. This is the first one ive owned. I also noticed if the back gate lock is in the unlock position a light on the dash (BACK GATE) or back door or somethin comes on. Once you lock it manually it goes out. Also i found that if the rear wiper is not all the way up it will not let the window go down. Im sure most of you senior runner owners now this im just rambling.

Figured out my speedo is off 5-7mph with the 32s. Drove it back home from the alignment shop UNALIGNED still cause the dude has a private shop and couldnt didnt done in time. Still drives down the road straight. He'll be gone for 2weeks so that will give me time to get the wing window in the drivers door. Also gonna change the oil, ive probalbly put 50mi on it for break in. Still havent bought the POR15 for my rear qaurter rust but was probalbly gonna get primer color and just paint white rattle can over it for now.

It's amazing how certain things on these old toyotas are so sophisticated. Like the rear window. The light on the dash, all the relays, switches, key switches, etc...

Stinks that you didn't get it aligned yet, but hopefully now you will be able to take care of a few things with it in the meantime. Not to mention enjoy the heck out of driving it!!

HAHAHA I never thought of that. When I was younger I had an 89 cr125 that was a 6 speed. Come to think of it, I had alot of jap bikes over the years that were 6 speeds. Never owned a Harley though.

Someday I will

I ride with freinds on jap, british, whatever. Its all about ridin not what you ride. But somethin bout the harley v twin rumble at 6500rpm feels great. Im gettin to old or lost some of my 9 lives to be jackin around with motocross or sport bikes. Plus if i hurt myself and cant work id have to figure out how to rob armored cars or somethin to make ends meet.
