Ill use bries iphone and snap a pic of my new treasure.Went to pick up my kid at my moms house and shes all upset about her car like it was my fault about the oil cooler failure!!!Shoulda drove my runner. But id it rather fail on me than her, she might of kept driving and blown the motor. I was planning on pulling my 87 truck home today and get it in the shop but it looks like ill be working on the VW.SCHEIZER!!!!

By the way anyone who owns the vw's with the 1.8T beware!!!! These oil coolers are prone for failure, changing the cooler....fairly simple, getting all the oil out of the cooling system....PITA!!!!!

Just ordered the vw oil cooler for $50 from rock. Get this thing fixed and get the 87 truck in the garage and start removing the ifs off the frame. I might just start a sas thread since it wont have anything to do with the runner.

Nice score on the SAS parts, I never come across deals like that. I'm sure you probably already know this but I'll mention it just in case, keep your ifs wheel hubs then you can upgrade to Taco brakes and also widen your 85' front axel to match your ifs rear axel without using wheel spacers. Or you can also use Toyota landcruiser rotors and reuse your ifs wheel hubs and calipers, but there's a little more modifying involved to do it that way (that's what I did on mine). Anyway, look forward to seeing your SAS build!

Cool!! Im back to having a camera again.its a sony like my old one.

I also found the rearend gears on the 87 truck i have are also 4.10s. Im not saying thats what ratio i want but atleast they match the 85 front axle so ill be able to get the truck going faster without having to swap gears.

Yea i couldn imagine not havin my runner or trucks to tear around with in the snow.

UPDATE Finally got the vw fixed, oil cooler replacement....super easy!!! 1.8t engine. flushing oil out of cooling sytem...not so super easy...had to flush it out like 12 times with water and simple green. Then i had to buy the 0w40 mobil oil...$$$$$$

gathering up more firewood for the garage today its gonna get cold again.

Drove my runner on the highway the furthest i ever have. Only 120mi round trip. The bfgs suck and need replaced. It will still do 85mph wit the 32s and auto trans. Took my kid to a track in lincoln to ride his ttr90, he was getting smoked all day by a 7yr old girl on a ktm50!!HAHA

I liked kelvins comment on your chainsaw skills. I am looking to convert to wood heat. Wood just makes the temperture just feel warmer. We have Smokey and the Bandit and my kids seen it for the first time a few years back and just seen it again recently. A classic movie. To bad Jerry Reed died. I always liked him. Burt is getting older and cant believe how long that has been.

You remember those early Hondas (late 60s-early70s) 50cc? I had one as a kid and am wanting to restore one. Those were a blast when I was a kid. Local donut shop has spares for them.

To bad to hear a girl whipped him on her bike. Cool that he is getting to start young on motorcycles.

Those bikes would be a trail 50.Great for camping, tooling around the yard, or just bein the cool kid in the neighborhood.

My runner has been starting and running like a champ even in sub zero conditions. I put a peice of wood in front of the radiator to help it warm up better.
