This trucks super clean but needs preventive body work for the surface rust,I'm afraid the road chemicals will destroy it his winter,he should park it.

One thing I noticed on this 83 is that the headlights are square,I thought they were round on 1st gens but apparently 83 was different.

I recall reading somewhere that the 79-82 1st gens had round headlights and 83 had square.

I charged the guy 240bones for installing the marlin clutch replacing a u joint, the l52 shift seals, and fixing his tail lights,I think he got a good deal.but he's a nice guy,and he knows how much pride I take in these Toyota trucks compared to some everyday mechanic.I'm happy.and so is he.he already wants me to install a rear locker.

Great looking 1st gen. The 82 and 83 are the square lights. 79-81 are the round lights. That is the only way I can tell which truck is which and is only by the lights. I don't know each year specific. Probably by the grill design to identify which year is great.

If he is going to drive it this winter that used motor oil that just collects in the corner of the shop is always needing a place to go. It can help with coating the metal this winter. I hope he parks it.

That is a good deal. Around here they want $600 just to replace a clutch.

Good to see a survivor from that part of the country, I wheeled with a few guys that had 1rst gens from your area back in the 90s, I couldn't believe how clean there trucks were back then. 240 for a clutch install yep you gave him a good deal.

It's near impossible to find a rust free one around here now. Heck even when I lived in Pa it was the same.
