Decided to swap dash pads and install the inclinometer.... I found more mice nests from previously sitting in the feild i rescued it from. good thing is the wiring looked okay. I couldnt find a plug for the inclinometer to hook into for the lights. I know it didnt come with one from the factory but i figured the main harness would have the pigtail but i havent found one. I also found that my heater ac cables were bound up so i lubed them up and it helped alot. Also installed some pioneer 3.5s in the dash. sound way better. Behind the dash pad i found a rpm control knob!? Never seen one on an 89. Im assuming its for the ac??

Had a great weekend, glad to see Mark show up with his runner, and his is very clean and has a great stance. Sucks we dont have alot a good spots to wheel, but we made up for that with the target practice and just talking and enjoying the day. Thanks again for hangin out Mark!!

Very cold and windy tonight, winter isnt over yet!!

Cleaned more mice crap and nests out of my dash tonight.Reinstalled some ac heater ducting and im trying to figure out the best place to tie in my inclinometer wiring for the instrumentation lighting. I STILL do not see a harness plug for an inclinometer.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THEY CAME FACTORY ON 89??? My crappy haynes manual has poor schematics. ill do more research before i decide. Ill be pissed if ive overlooked it and splice into lighting wiring. I would figure they run a universal harness cause it does have the plug for cruise and power antenna on the dash.

Mice and dirtdobbers like to get under the dash as well. I have an 87 runner that had the inclinometer at one time. I will see if I can find where the wire is on it. I will be a couple of days before I get out to it if that is ok?

I don't know if they came factory in 89 on the inclinometer.

All of the trucks I have been into, I have seen the RPM knob. It is for AC, I just don't fully understand what its function is for though.

Thanks Terry!!Also found my heater ac control panel clips that hold the cables were broken so i set them in place where the suppost to be and zip tied them so they work properly. Not a permanent fix but works til i get the panel replaced with a good one.

Yes varmints tear vehicles apart. Im greatful they doont hang out in my garage, these pests were from when it sat in the feild for years. Still cannot beleive someone left my runner for dead out there. Actually i drove by it for years as well as multiple others i just happened to find out who owned it and snatched it up.

Very cold today but my 88 truck is still running great which is the engine i plan on putting in my 87 sas build.

If you want, I can pull my dash inclinometer and see what the harness looks like. Maybe its wrapped up in the loom.

I hate mice. they get into everything and leave a mess where ever they go!!!

Richie needs to start a build thread!!!!!

Thanks man!! But i already put it back together. I looked for it and couldnt find it but i bet your right, its probalbly wrapped up in the harness.Im going to take the dash apart eventually to color coordinate beings the dash is red, the pad is brown, and the inclinometer is gray.haha. i dont care cause atleast the pad has no cracks in it unlike the red one did, and at night you cant tell anyways, so i hard wired it to a switch so i didnt have to hack into my harness(no i didnt cut the harness off the inclinometer either). Anyways it looks cool cause im not use to having one and i think the neighbors thought i was drunk cause i was out climbing around some inclines in the neighborhood to watch it work.

Yes mice suck, so does flys...i hate flys. one thing about cold winter...no flys.

And yes Richie does need a build thread.

That's great you got it hooked up. I can just imagine the neighbors watching you test it out. Haha

Definitely use that vinyl paint I was telling you about. It works great!!
