well i didnt get to the trans boot but i did get my bumper ends and put my rear bumper on thats a job by yourself i can tell ya

the bolt plates as you can see one fought me one didnt... an i mean it popped an was loose took nearly nothing to take it off the other fought me all the way

drilled the holes out for carriage bolts

and so heres the before

and after YAY looks a 100% better

did realize my drivers side is still tweeked a bit as the gap is nonexistent tween the corner an the marker more adjustments in the bumper needed.

and the back breaker shoulder twisting nice lookin rear bumper ow my arm...

only the front bumper caps are new the rear is polished primed an painted after all the welding done to fix the issues it had when it came with the truck

kris joked the rear hunkered down a couple inches again due to the weight put back on her rump but looked a LOT better with the bumper ends an rear back on

To get the end caps off, just put them on the way the factory does and got for a drive down the road. That is what I did one time and those metal clips came right off. grrr, That is the reason I just do the carriage bolts now. The rear bumper does make the back end look more complete as well.

Once you get the rear quarters done, you have the outside completed. A long ways from where it was. What do you have left to do now? Your truck has transformed quick. Great job!!

Dude that front bumper side plastics idea was genius. And best part about it is that it looks like it was meant to be that way! Great job Mr. Dragon.

Will you do great work with painting man. A lot of the parts that you're refurbishing look mint after you're done. Awesome dude!

Hey btw I got a story for ya haha. Today while checking a tenants badge I noticed the dudes legal nast name is "DragonSlayer." Wow..... I was like whaaaaa??? I gotta tell William about this. I didn't believe it at first but then he pulled out his CA I.D. and it read Peter Dragonslayer lol

oh still got plenty to do L trim on the top are rusted bad have to clean an rebuild them (the free L trm from a guy in AZ for shipping has died as many deals have) sand the top smooth an repaint - brakes the system pulses bad when ya brake hard one of the rotors has a hot spot an it isnt improving but got rotors an calipers from mark so is just pads an the urge to get it done the rear brakes are part of the rear end refurbishing got the backer plates and ebrake levers ect zuk springs need to get the tool to pull the backing plates an bearing seal assembly remove the rear axle get it cleaned up change the rotted bushings in the springs with polyurethane ones have to do it eventually as the backing plates are rotted out - sand blast scrape rust an layers of failed undercoat off an prime paint an undercoat again
new tires..
exhaust system next month i hope! had to loan people $ for gas yesterday

well i got the idea from terry so its his credit i did it to keep them on the truck LOL

well today i went out an sprayed pen oil on the shocks nuts an ect on the rear of my runner also ordered the polyurethane shock bushings for the sensatrack shocks i got from mark

i grabbed one of my rear shocks an it wobbles an rattles on the bolt i hope i can rescue the flat washers an not break any nuts or PLEASE not the mounting stud!

will have the mapp torch ready for this one

with how the rear bounced after putting the bumper back on i have to fix the shocks waiting is not an option

Are poly shock bushings all one size or do they vary according to shock or vehicle maker? Do you have a link to what you ordered? Is there a different size from back to front?

Great idea on bolting the bumper ends. When I had my '88 back in the late 80's/early 90's and lived in the city I kept having them stolen. PITA before the internet to get to the dealer during work hours to get replacements.

mark was able to include one half of a a bushing an i got the I.D. measurement from that to be honest they dont say the O.D. measurements but make it apparent on the ID

they do vary in their internal diameter !/2-5/8-3/4 the 3/4 is dead on for our 19mm theyre a two piece hourglass shape which gets squished in the shocks 'eye ring' around the mounting stem/bolt by two washers on either side

most with trucks wanting a lot of flex do helm joints at the ends of longer shocks

front shocks are different they use a stem an pressed in bushing the stem end you can easily get a poly replacement an ive got a set bookmarked for mine the other end is more problematic its a pressed in bushing with a metal sleeve i "think" they have poly replacements for them as well

heres the rear shock bushings you need 2 'sets' per shock top an bottom
http://www.ebay.com/itm/330973433392...84.m1497.l2649

the tops of the front shocks are these bushings "NOTE" i havent confirmed the measurements that these are right i just eyeballed them i dont need my front shocks 'yet'
http://www.ebay.com/itm/111126803772...84.m1423.l2649

they also carry poly tierod end caps swaybar stuff it is summit racing stuff

Never thought about poly bushings for shocks, other than longevity of life in the bushings what other benefits do you get from them? Better response from the shocks?

Great video and idea Nervo19.. Simple, cheap and effective.

I have never looked into polybushings. Something I need to learn about. I guessing you just use them over the stock bushings??? A better all around improvement? You find them at parts stores?

well they improve the shocks response to movement as they dont flex as rubber does i honestly dont know about finding them in parts stores i didnt check but i likely will when im hunting parts for the truck i knew i needed a full set for the rear shocks an went looking any performance shop should in theory be able to get them i just went to summit racing via their ebay listings so i could use paypal

i used a few on my 79 chevy street racer/sleeper truck to improve the front end which was sloppy when applying horsepower to pavement the A arm control bushings an stablizer bushings kept the front end on the pavement
