today with it storming a bit i did a bit of work something thats been annoying me since first day and on the splash shields in the fenders
ive got 1 of the 4 needed (or more?) so i made some since winter is coming id like to keep my engine a bit cleaner and all the work ive done on the front frame
SO 2 clear rubber floor mats (i hate them) got carpet ones if you clean your rig an such you dont need rubber cheapo's
so here we go the before nice big gap along the frame the A arm pocket the upper shock mount (all which were clogged with rocks dirt sand in a concreted mess before cleanup)

bit of measuring cutting found out a paper hole punch works great to pop neat holes in this stuff

first one done
working on the removable maintenance shield i added a couple holes so this can come off as an assembly splash rubber an all

EEEK ziptie porcupine!!

all safe an trimmed

small rear one to keep the lines an clutch area cleaner
pass side done

one small one for the drivers side just to keep the worst off the exhaust and the frame

oh an put on my furry inside & martin crawler stickers (part of that oops shipment they said to keep (white seat an shifter ball which i cant use they said ehh give it to a friend and BIG sticker as well)

not shown my putting a round speaker magnet on the oil filter (i fergot to take a picture) with some plumbers tape and a hose clamp to hold it in place. why let metal dust ect get to the pan when ya can put it in the filter an throw it away? the magnet is so strong it holds itself but the plumbers tape an hose clamp are insurance
foot started hurting so had to stop

learned it from an ol boy that did a lot of tractor/forklift/engine work the whole thing is dirt cheap an if you dont have a magnetic drain plug this is an even more powerful than they are over a larger area that gets tossed with every oil change you can get these round magnets from old speakers to microwave oven magnetron's
as im at 300 miles on my engine rebuild gona have a lot of metal dust in the oil parts seating in ect, which i checked today still full up an surprisingly still translucent, not dark or carboned up didnt see any leaks in the normal areas so far so good

Nice! Very impressed and my curiosity bug has been engaged as well you scale riddled friend 'o' mine! Lol.... I too am interested to see how they hold up.
Cool on the magnet thing... I think I have seeing a thread on here where someone did something like that with a pretty strong magnet... I think they even cut open the filter and everything afterwards. I just can't seem to find a lot of the threads that I bookmarked. Maybe I need to look from my computer.
I know you don't get to get out much, but I'm pleading with you to have the fam take you out to see Meet the Millers! Everyone needs a good laugh that lasts for a few days thereafter... Pretty dirty, but dang was it hilarious! Can't say it was funnier than Horrible Bosses or Bridesmaids , but definitely hilarious! Lol.
Good see you knocking some stuff out!

well a bit ago midnightish i went out an installed the w56 shifter boot replacement that got torn when i installed the martin crawler shifter seat an shifter ball end
one note for everyone who said so,
a W56 shifter extension is NOT an unscrew type
it is indeed a friction fit an in trying to unscrew the black handle extension from the shifter so to get the new boot on twisted the internals out of the black handle felt like it was unscrewing it wasnt it was the insides ripping out
suffice to say i did get that part off as well black rtv to 'glue' it back in the handle a metal sleeve rubber bonded to the black extension had to fight it off with vice grips but its back in now
boot installed lubed the shifter shaft so it slid on very easy pulled the corners to pop it back over the retaining plate so thats done
also unplugged the rear wiper switch no arm on it might as well an its caused me issues with the rear window as it locks it out if its not parked correctly or running an no one see's it kids have bumped the switch an i have as well geting in

I like the magnet idea. I will add it to mine when I get the 85 running and start breaking it in. I recently unscrewed an extention but it may have been on the 85 which is the G52 tranny if I recall right. I will be messing with my W56 center console here soon so thanks for that info.
Zipties rule!!! I use them all of the time and they work great when you need an extra hand or to temporarily hold things in place.

saw on my local CL an 88 silver SR5 1stgen being parted out ans an 90 king cab as well both the engines are missing (slow 6's) the 90 took a major hit to the side but the runner is nearly pristine no rust i wanted to cry
told the guy what i wanted (body metal) an told him with the great interior parts plastics all look solid dash no cracks the spash guards outside all good told him come to yotatech you'll have buyers for them SR5 doors
im thinking of offering myself as free labor take the ol girl apart as he didnt know how to get the rear window down without power i told him how in basics but maybe if i take her to parts if he's willing i could get a cut in the prices
he apparently got the both for 250 an now that im thinking about it an the fact my cell had the number already in it I know who this guy is he's the one who took the old s10 an escort we had! hes a metal scrapper ooh now im thinking...

we get so much slush an rain here in winter i needed splash guards of some kind we shall see how the clear rubber holds up
who knows maybe they wont want the fenders once done an i can then snag them "shrugs"
the shock bushings should be here tomorrow they gave um too me instead of charging for a couple bucks price difference that'll give me rear shocks an not boing bounce

I know the frustrations about short on cash. Came up with a few extra dollars and was headed to the parts store to get some shocks and the wife said we had a few things to take care of. grrr...
Some will eventually pop up. I used to see bull bars on ebay all of the time and lately I cant find any.

i see them now as brush guards an grill guards but they look cheap an flimsy to be honest the one i got from rich needs a paint job but its in great shape other wise

Well, I'm assuming you called Monroe... I'm not sure if they sell them separately,....... But I figure it would be worth a call right? They should know what shaft diameter for upper and lower and od as well.
I don't know if you saw my post, but just for the heck of it, I found even more parts to be unvailable now under our years of 4 runner... Well, just a 22r re: ....
lol... I have been stocking up for a while, but most of my crap is not for my year. Hey, are your injectors the red kind?
