havent done much of nothing with the runner trying to be good doc put some stitches in my foot to make it close that last 2mmx5mm hole it 'seems' to be helping he checked it wed an it was 1mmx 5mm its been stalled for month an half so any progress is a good

i need to get out an unbolt the gauge cluster an check that LED for the rear door it should have lit with it down yes thats been bugging me for days im wondering if ive got the check engine light in wrong as well

is it supposed to come on when ya turn the key on then go off?

good thing is i havent put all the trim back on i was debating lubricating the dimmer as it was stiff checking the illumination bulbs inside the cluster

found out my rear cargo light is unplugged but to work on it im gona have to wait till the engine parts are out of the back

with mark in his gate terry repainting his mine needed attention with the loose Toyota handle the clunking as the window goes up an it doesnt cost money to prep it for paint an find out whats goin on with the loose handle

**famous last words I should have stopped an just left it be**

defogger wires were cut from their connectors one taped the other not jammed into the bottom of the gate

connectors left on their clips

i removed the window to finish stripping the peeling tint from it an get the handle sorted out

Aha! So that's what I also found on bottom of my tailgate Thanks! Thought it was the license plate light but that started to work when I wiggled bulb in socket.

hey rad4 glad i was able to help ya i mean in my case thats all they can be i looked at the tiny bit of insulation in the connector an it matches the wires one is a ground which connects to the far side of the window where another connector goes to the window right to the widow frame
ive fixed defroster grid before easyer than turning a screw just have to have conductive paint but this was WTH were they thinking?? only thing i can think is maybe! the tint had a metalic base an it shorted out the defroster grid or it got scraped its not the original gate (gray) heck i dont know

been giving it thought gona have to take the one stand left on the handle an sacrifice it to make a template an cut out 3 duplicates of the thing out of sheetmetal then i can reuse 2 bolts from the brackets an find a 3rd to fit cutting it off at the right length the non factory license plate lights annoys me i dont even think those the bulbs are replaceable

well soaked the screws in pen oil on the brackets got one out the others are all vicegrips an hope but just in case ive contacted someone about their partout to see if i can snag theirs dont need the key lock but id like to have the factory license plate lights not the cheese ball things screwed to the rear gate

the rear window glass i finally got clean of the tint goop mineral spirits 409 an elbow grease took my volt/ohm meter to it

LO an behold!! GOOD NEWS ive got continuity across the entire windows defroster grid! no broken lines

WOW, that's amazing with that much rust and crap that those all work on the rear window. I think mine still works... but I never have to use it, so I wouldn't likely know, haha. I better make sure for the heck of it. Mine has an indicator light, does yours? Maybe that light doesn't work if they're not working? Or is it just a light? lol.

Once again, nice work, man!

i think the light comes on when its switched on i need to check the circuit by switching it on see if the leads have power to them an off when its off

the window bottom frame has rust which im gona sand an address with some paint but not having to buy conductive paint to fix the grid YAY

the brackets though on the tailgate handle theres no hope i have to make new or buy a used one if i cant get the remaining 5 screws out though id rather have the factory lights to be honest

Liked the personality you added to your cover. I couldnt make out which clip you were mentioning. I havent forgotten about your inner fender just dont remember which one it was. If I have that clip I can get in the mail soon. Just let me know which inner fender and I will try to get off of my butt and get to the post office in the next few days when my days off are.

You got your hood looking good. With a little persuasion, that bumper will straighten out alot.

I have the wire broken on my defrosters on both rear glass on my runners. Not really sure where they go to. I have the wires there just dont see the connections.

thank you terry it goes with her being a lot like a skeleton a boney type font for the letters

no worries, pasenger side for that splash shield terry the clip in on the outside wiper strip its a plastic retainer clip it caught on the defroster connectors an ping off it snapped

as for the rear window defogger heres a picture of the window on the coffee table the one connector on the glass is the incoming power, the other is ground (the metal support frame)

then the other end of the grid heads to the metal frame

you should be able to use a meter to check the grid like i did if its got continuity on each line its good if it dont conductive paint of anykind can fixit two strips of masking tape at the break very thin line paint over the break an its fixed
in my case i put one lead on the connector an touched each line a got a beep checking the farthest end an along the lines as well

its one reason why im trying to find the rear arches in steel from someones part out i can do fiberglass but would rather do steel for long term durability
