I hear ya, Blake! Ya know... I REALLY think I should put this on the front burner... Cuz I'm likely wasting around 20$ a week that I don't have to, ya know? That's 80$ a month, which OBVIOUSLY can go to better use than GOING NOWHERE, like it's doing now! lol.

Chefyota that is more than likely your accurate gas milage. Before I did all the stuff I mentioned above I got 12.75mpg. I have gained almost 8mpg doing all the stuff mentioned above. The two biggest differences in milage came from the regear and change in tire size. Although the regear is a very expensive project, (about $2000) the annual savings I calculated in fuel costs is $800-$1000. Thus, it will pay for itself in 2 years and if you include inflation, all my purchases to improve gas milage will pay for itself in under 3 years.

Dayum, PF, that's great!

Yeah, I'm running 31's, 4.30 gears, LCE header w/2.25" exhaust to a Borla, EFI, but none of the ignition stuffs you did.

I've been told by so many Guru's that it's very normal considering where I live... I'll try to get the most of it with some tuning, etc.... But everything's pretty much new. so for now, I'll live with it and fish into the issue as I go. lol.

If I were you I would look into the regear and a tuneup. They will give you a decent increase and with the US economy going in the toilet coupled with our crippling dependence on foreign oil, I don't think you can afford not to do everything you possibly can to increase that mileage per gallon of fuel. Email me if you have any questions about anything.

Hey Medic... THANKS!

Yeah, I'm not sure on the 'tune up' portion, as everything is new(aside from the Dizzy/coil/ignitor). Low mile LCE Wires/Denso Plugs/OEM Cap and Rotor/Mostly all new Sensors/Running like a raped ape(for a 22re) up the more formidable Mountain passes here in So Cal with NO pinging or smoking or ... well, pretty much no 'visible' or 'audible' drama, ya know?

I'm fishing through a current issue of 'failing smog' over on this thread I started;

https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...nvo-th-252467/

I did a LAMBDA Calculator Test and it read(on the portion I failed, 25mph) "Excellent Fuel/Air Mixture and Excellent Operation of CAT".... I posted all that on that thread, second page, few posts from the last.....

Hoping to find a correlation(at least in part) to the lower city mileage that's occuring. And, seeing that it's been a WHILE, even before the full rebuild with all quality parts, etc..(and running like I've described).. I'm hoping it's something I can find through testing with the tools I have/that I can borrow if not, lol.

Thanks a lot for chiming in.. And I WILL hit you up, asap.

89 shortbed 22re 4x4 blocked egr supra AFM 32x11.50x15 tires and 4.88s, 300 miles per tank city and 340 miles highway at 2800 rpm, about 65mph with valvoline 10w-40, a little better mileage with 5w-30 but I swiched back to 10w-40. My speedo is off a little so you get a rough idea.

3VZ (256k original miles), 5spd, 4.56s, 33x13.50s, Rotella T6 5w40, K&N cone filter, AFM 3 clicks lean, intake silencer delete, advanced cam and ignition timing, MSD Blaster SS coil, MSD 8.5mm spiral core wires, Denso plugs & O2, stock manifolds to Magnaflow high-flow cat & muffler.

Just got 20.15mpg with the cruise set at 70mph on the highway and 500lbs of gear in the back. Tried to get better by doing 55-60 but that lasted for about a mile.

Pretty consistent 14-15mpg around town lately.

I have just filled up for the first time since the header and exhaust install. Im getting 20mpg even though im leadfooting it everywhere enjoying the increase in performance.

Im also able to drive on the highway at 70mph at 2900rpm in 5th gear with all the other stuff I have done to the build.
