Post your GAS MILEAGE!!

Well the EGR is still stock, and the timing is where the smog guy left it. He had to really drop it down to pass smog, but he put it back to normal operating specs. It idles smoothe now, but at 1,100 rpm. It'll hit the 900 mark every so often, but it's not often. My speedo reads 70mph at 3,000rpm (GPS speed is 65 though)

wonder if anyone worries about their Final Gear Ratio when you start sticking on those big oversized tires.
had issues with my 4runner and had issues with my grand cherokee.
Best thing I did was go back to stock tires with those stock gears. Mileage went up 3 MPG on the jeep. It's still a heap, but it's all I can afford to pay cash for until I can save up for a 98 4runner.
power's better, mileage is better, ride is better. And for a suv with 4wd without lock-outs and an automatic, it's getting 20-21 mpg.

K&N Performance Air Filter
Magnaflow muffler
Toyota Plugs/wires/sparkplugs/cap/rotor

No Lift
I usually get about 18mpg in town and 20mpg on the freeway. Its a great truck I love it to death.

1987 4Runner 4cyl 4:88 w/ 33in tires. Timing advance, 'modified' stock intake, high flow cat and exhaust (not huge bore) MSD Coil. I drive like a grampy tho. Engine is broke in at 240,000 miles.

yer i just picked my surf from southern cross western Australia its 410 km from were i live, i used
3/4 of my tank for 410 km.
so with a full tank i will get 500 km
i have 31" all terrains also my car was loaded up with the goodies spares like tyers and i had a big dirty roof basket on top which apparently drops the aerodynamics down a bit?

umm, question here. Some supertease on about the 2nd or 3rd post, said he put a 'rabbit' on his, and was getting 47 mpg. What is this rabbit, and why didn't the dude ever tell us what the hell it was?
or is he talking about his 1984 diesel vw rabbit, which has absolutely nothing to do with this thread?

Bone stock 86 2WD 22R, 4-box, no PS or AC stock steelies/skinnies. Got ~18mpg mostly city before I changed the year+ old oil, then ~20 before I found out there was no thermostat
... this was an "interesting" vehicle you see... now something like 23, 24 mixed. I have heavy feet and shift early. Not hauling a bigass engine crane and BMW engine block everywhere gave me a 1-2mpg bump when that finally happened.
Metric system is awesome and has needed to happen for about 80 years now (or whenever they finished standardizing everything)...but never will in this country until the #@%!ing DOT mandates KM's on speedos, odos, road signs, and fuel stations. My 24 mixed amounts to ~10 l/100km (or 10 cLkm^-1, if you want to get technical
)

I have a stock 1991 22re 4x4 pickup and the best I've ever got was 20mpg mostly driving 65mph. In town its been as bad as 15mpg. But I've been making small improvements and maybe I'll post again soon. I've also noticed a big difference in mpg depending on where I buy my 87 octane. Just a tip, watch your mileage and find a station that's consistent. With one station I always get 17mpg and with every other station I get over 19! So there is a difference.

I have a 1989 Pickup 3VZE 4X4 4 speed auto with an exhaust for a V8 and 31" BFGoodrich A/T's and I get 14 mpg, also have 6X9 behind the seat in speaker boxes to add some bass instead of subs. Where I live it is all hills even on the highway just to go 60mph I have to turn off O/D. Thinking of adding a toolbox but wondering how it would effect my mileage.

Hi guys
I'm preetty new to this 4runner thing. I purchased my 95 runner from a fellow who told me about you. I have been hanging about and reading all the other posts. I was getting really crappy mileage and noticed that I was getting a gasoline smell and it was hard to crank if it was sitting for a while. I found that I had a leaking dampner, which I fixed myself. It may be a bit early to say, but so far its right at 300 mi. to a 17 gal tank. My mods are pretty mild compared to some on here. 31" BFG mud TA, headers, Jardine exhaust, larger throttle body and K&N filter.
And by the way GREAT site.
I'm really Jonesin to do a 4.3 swap on my rig -- but I'm gonna wait til the 3.slow pukes

Hey I just bought my 95 4Runner SR5. Popped my cherry
. I have 31 x 10.50's on stock rims. No lift yet but very soon, just got to figure all this out first. I got 22.6 mpg on my first tank!!!!!! For a V6 5speed with 162xxx on it thats not too shabby! $2000 well spent.
