Arizona Roll Call

Oh, also went back to the Toyota salvage yard on 40th street today...still not open, but spoke with the guys next-door for a bit and got the skinny: If you need parts, call Bob at 602-437-2626 and tell him what you need. He'll check the yard and see if they have it. They're changing the name to "all japanese auto and recycling" www.alljapanesesalvage.com and hope to re-open completely in the next few months.

Suck some seafoam thru your vacuum, it's much more effective than thru your fuel. Ittl burn out all the crap in your engine and smoke out the neighborhood haha

Give 'em a call, they have a few full trucks from what I could see.
CEL is back...knock sensor again. Took it to the stealership to have them put it on their Diagnostic CPU. $120 they wanted to charge me for what ended up being nothing more than reading the code through the OBD2.
Spent an hour correcting the service tech on his lack of knowledge about 4runners. ("well, sir...you have 6 injectors...." NO, I have 7 injectors. "the tech had to take apart the dash to access the ECU..." WHY? It's in the passenger-side kick plate "your O2 sensor is hard-wired into the block and the harness exits the rear of the engine" UM, no...it's a split pig-tail connector that exits through the FRONT of the engine...)
Topper was when I got the papers back it said "ODO in XXX275" "ODO out XXX276" problem is, it was still at XXX275. But supposedly they had test drove it for diagnostic...less than a mile? I called BS and had a talk with the Service Manager just to point out that his mechanics weren't doing what they were charging people for. I ended up paying $0 but the principle of the thing pissed me off.
Bitch session over.
Heading to Tip-Top Sunday if anyone want's to join!

On second thought, that is not entirely true as stated above. I think you'll need to re-use or replace the bearings because that 4 cyl diff has smaller thickness bearings. That's too bad, because those bearings are pretty new and they were cryo treated. Try to re-sell 'em. The R&P will still be fine though.

Thinking of making a run up to Camp Verde Hot Springs on Sunday if anyone wants to join. Supposed to still be 2 or 3 good water x-ings and some cool trails. Taking both 4runners and my buddies 05 Exploder and meeting some Jeep friends from Cornville on the trail.
