Talking Paddle tires?

Has anyone here used paddle tires on their 4Runner? I go to Glamis and I'm thinking of looking for some. I'm thinking 31" paddles on 15X15" rims. Right now I have 31" Super Swamper TSL's I air down to 10#, I do good but I'd like to do better. Anyone know where I can find some for a good price? I'm in So. Cal.

10 lbs with super swampers? Go down to 1-5 pounds and you'll do exponentially better.

You have enough power to spin paddles? (ie - supercharged 3.4?)

Blowing beads is certainly possible, so he should have a way to re-seat them. But if he drives sanely, he won't have a problem. 10 psi is pretty normal pressure for sand for street tires. 10psi for swampers is nothing, they won't hardly bulge.

Plus, swampers aren't the best for sand, too aggressive. They just dig and you don't go anywhere. ATs are better.

Wouldn't paddles be considered an agressive tire that digs too?

That's why you need a ton of power, so they'll keep you skimming across the top. Look at the vehicles that run paddles - all really high power to weight ratiosvb

A padle tire has very few actual lugs. The rest of the tire is completely smooth allowing the tire to float and the lug to dig in and push.

#1 - tl;dc

#2 - Super Swamper Vampires

#3 - Rims that have the dual pressure zones. one side is like street pressure, and other part is like 1-5 PSI... so u don't blow beads but have the low off road pressure

Talking

I bought some Desert Track paddle tires size 14.50 X 15 on 15 X 10" rims from Sand Tires Unlimited. One word "AWESOME", aired down to 8# I went everywhere our sandrail went with no problems(except the big dunes behind Oldsmobile). I even made it up Oldsmobile (for those of you that are familiar with it). Not bad for a 96 2wd 4 cyl.:bigclap:

Interco does make atv tires and they real cool but you cant get the vamps in a big size unless you want 24" atv tires? i think price wise stick with swampers and air down and ride out!

I ran my old 33x15.50 Swampers at 1-2 psi (my gauge stopped at 2.5) and they were awesome, no bead loss either. Below 2 psi, the sidewalls would just start to wrinkle and that is when they started working good:

Only problem I had was not enough power with the 22RE to get them going.
