Yeah, that kid is COOL, eh? There's other longer videos of him, leading up to that as he trained, etc... It was a big deal, ya know? And he helps lots of handicapped kids, as I mentioned(they show some of that in the other videos).... Just admire his attitude and sense of "I CAN DO THIS!", ya know?

Hey hab just checking in and trying to catch up on few threads. Sounds like you get some good experience on the ball joint swap even if it didn't involve something as exciting as a frozen metal explosion from freezing with dry ice. Any way hope all is well with you and yours.
It seems that dry ice may remove hail dents from vehicles and is used to shrink metal for fittings among other uses including quick freezing produce....versatile stuff it is. http://www.dryiceinfo.com/other.htm
And, I'll admit, dry ice was featured in one of my Science Fair projects in middle school. Used it to power a Stirling Engine that I made from scratch. That little engine got lost when we moved from Cali to Oregon.

Hab, just catching up on your 30 page thread, you have done some nice work. I am occasionally getting some popping sounds on hard obstacles so I probably need to take a look at both my steering rack bushings as well as the ball joints. When the rack bushings go bad, would i notice the rack moving back and forth under the truck if someone were turning the steering wheel from inside? Probably better done when not moving, haha.
Oh, and I too stepped up to the cadillac brougham 4 note horn set a while back--aren't they way cool?

rw- stirling engine sounds cool. It always bites to lose the cool stuff.
paddlenbike- thanks. Yeah, get under there and have someone wiggle the steering wheel back and forth. You'll be able to see the rack wiggle more than a wee bit. Definitely better at a stop and with someone you trust. Popping for me has been steering rack bushings, ball joints, end links, sway bar bushings (more on that soon) and while my tie rod ends got replaced before they gave me trouble you might give them a gander too.

BTW, the corn tassled out at 2.5 tall....oops, I thinks something wierd happened due to cold weather stunting it. Next batch will be planted tomorrow...maybe it will do better.
I got home to find 8' tall corn with ears that were ready to eat, so we had a couple each for dinner tonight. Mmmmmm. Usually I get spindly sad corn that the squirrels destroy before I get any. Good luck on your next batch!
Nice! hehe, glad the squirrels left you some. My favorite: bbq steak and fresh corn. We have a decently long growing season into October so this batch will get plenty of heat...it was 98 today, 102 tomorrow. Thankfully, we have low humidity east of the Cascade mountains...near desert here.
