I just say that because I've almost set my Volvo's on fire several times. I assume everyone else is as inept as I am!
A broken fuel line on the 1800E that sprayed fuel *all* over the engine compartment, overflowing carbs on the PV544 several times, a broken oil gauge line on the PV that sprayed a half quart of oil onto the exhaust manifold, a popped oil filter seal on the 245 that sprayed about a quart of oil onto the turbo and downpipe, etc, etc, etc.
You are going to owe me so many blings! I don't take flowers or jewelery as payment, either. To woo me back you're going to need lots of tools, various armor bits, a rear bumper w/tire carrier prolly wouldn't hurt either.
I checked out that headlight socket wiring, it's kosher, not cut and splice weird stuff like the photo implies. Now I feel less stupid about missing it all these years.
It's together every once in a while:
Something like 350 hp at the wheels, 12.9@110 mph, which is pretty decently fast feeling (to me).
The old car is a PV544, a sort of 5/6th scale model of an early 40's Ford coupe? It's loud and snorty, but not that fast. I took it to a track once, it ran a 15.7@90 mph.
Yeah, I should stop nerding up this thread with Volvo stuff...
Is it wrong that I got the fire extinguisher for him? Or, is it wronger that he wanted to know what I'd bought it for when I presented it to him?
And dear, anything to pimp your babies, heh? Don't worry, if you didn't need or 'need' to tweak them you'd get bored awful quick.
Yeah, well, there's a reason we get along...
(old Maze district shots)
Pulled the front diff mounts and lines off today. Can't really do much now. I don't want to disable the 4wd stuff on the 4Runner yet, we aren't done with snow, and I don't want to get it de-rustified when it's too cold and damp to repaint. Ah, weather.
Edit:
PS. Good idea RW! More blings needed to restore the order of the world, please.
103" so far in Feb. and 113" base now so we're good now. The Dec. and Jan. weather finally punched thru in Feb. The cameras on the View Conditions tab can be interesting in the daytime or if it's clear under the lights Weds. - Sun. I'll wave at you this weekend.
Where is that trail just above? Looks like nice rock for wheeling.
That is the Maze District of Canyonlands Nat'l Park, Utah. It's cool. Well, it's actually rather hot in late June/early July. I think the most interesting obstacle was out towards Doll House. Of course no pics of that one.

Ok hab, got a chance to compare some pics and test a few things.
the plug on the main harness
the plug on the pump
the pump
I think Im missing a pig tail between the harness plug and the pump. I was at least able to test the pump and it works, did some testing around on the plugs and found power, and was able to recreate the random wiper on thing. Im going back thru your pics to see if I can find out what pig tail I might be missing.
Interesting and yeah, it definitely does look different. You'll prolly end up making your own connection between pump and main harness connector? On my harness connector the red and black wires went to the connector that plugged into the pump directly, the blue ones to that wiper/washer/exploding/what-all.

YOU are NOT kidding, RW. It's just been ridiculous cold this year. S'posed to snow again tomorrow night, not much, and more again Saturday and Sunday. Temps have been too cold for any fun, by now we're usually enjoying temps in the 40's or better. Not this below 20 stuff. That's right, I'm whining.
for the 96 I need/want to
change the oil
replace the o-ring on the dipstick tube
and
AXLES!!!!!
at least, to start.
How goes it on your end? Have a good time skiing?
I wonder how Jason's got along with his washer pump?
Skiing? What's that? It went from great snow to raining on the mountain this week. It's supposed to get colder tonight and turn to snow. We'll see.....I'm hoping to go tomorrow to get past the 2 trips, 3.5 hours so far this season.
42 here now with snow forecast Sunday for here in town.
You've got to get those axles done before vacay for sure!
