Interesting setup, should work nicely, surprised there were not any pre-made versions of this.

Me too. I did find two, one was way to small and the other was almost $300.

I'm all snorkeled up now. Ran out of neoprene hose and had to finish the snorkel to filter bit with some flex aluminum.

Looks good. Any worries about the turbo cracking if you submerge it in water?

I started drinking before I finished it so I haven't had a chance to drive it yet.

This question is directed to clownmeat and Ace. How did you guys disable the atrac? An ABS switch? Locking the center diff? I am not looking to do burn outs but I do belive that the engine cutting out under boosted power could potentialy be very bad. I have been trolling both your threads from the get go. I am planning and buying parts to do a combo of both of what Yall have done.

Not sure about clown but that was never a problem for me as the 2000 does not have any kind of traction control. Only your right foot.

Clown you should put a condom of some sort over your air chuck on your frame. I had mine in a similar spot before I tore my on board air set up off and it would always be jammed up with rocks, dirt, etc. Just an idea.

For your filter cansister, did you look what Cummins had to offer? My dad has a nice Cummins filter housing on his Razor 800.

Home made turbo is still going strong, has been completely submerged, no complaints.

It has been almost a year but I finally had something on the turbo system fail. Went out wheeling last weekend and started to smell burning oil, got out and looked under the truck to see oil dripping from the turbo area. Turned around and got it home in time without the oil light coming on. By the time I got home it wasn't dripping but spraying oil. After towing it to work and looking at it I found the solid steel oil feed line from the engine to the turbo finally cracked from shaking around. We talked about putting in a couple feet of braided flex before the turbo but I totally forgot about it and never got around to doing it. So I re-flared it for now, added 3 quarts of oil and ordered a flex turbo feed hose. Could have been a lot worse I guess, I shouldn't have overlooked one of the most important components of the system.

Sounds like fun. With the new CX racing turbo kit that just came out : https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f2/3...bo-kit-272568/

Turboing the 5vz is more practical then ever.

You will need fuel mods as well.
