Clownmeat, does it just cross directly across the rear by the crossmember? like where the rear tire used to mount? Any completed under pics that show the whole system?

It's not completely piped yet but when it is I will get some pics up. I just got the high temp neoprene flex hose today.

Here is the air duct hose, good to 350 degrees ,I can't smash it by squeezing it with my hand, doesn't kink when it's bent tight, should do the job.

Wow that looks pretty sturdy. Is that for intake or exhaust or both?

Just the intake, exhaust temps can get around 1500 degrees and glow red, this stuff is good to 350 which is fine for the cold side.

So on a cfm calculator a turbocharged 3400cc motor can suck up to 720 cfm at 6000 rpm. The inline filters I have found only do about 450 cfm like this one.
Maybe I need to biuld a big sealed airbox full of foam so it doesn't hinder performance.

Those calculators are not real accurate, the numbers vary wildly depending on what motor you are talking about since some flow much better then others.

Though you will still be on the restrictive side with that filter I bet.

So I read through this post and didn't see anything about modification to the engine management. So are you running the stock computer and engine with boost? No engine work needed to lower compression? More air means more fuel. Compensating with meth?

Screwed in some colder plugs and run premium fuel, it's good. It can get a bit lean at times and could benefit from more fuel but doesn't knock or cause a problem so it's good.

Also there is this bit of info from TRD,

Installation Instructions for 3.4-liter V6 Supercharger Kit
1996 and newer 4Runner, 1997-1998 T-100,
1997 and newer Tacoma, 2000 and newer Tundra

Supercharger Instruction FAQ’s

1. Would it be a good idea to install a fuel
pressure regulator along with the supercharger?

No. After extensive testing, TRD has learned that the fuel system has sufficient capacity to deliver the additional fuel to match the additional air induced by the supercharger.

TRD lies, it has been proven time and again that the stock fuel system is not near enough.

Think it was speedy that logged the EGT's and AFR's. They SKYROCKETED with stock fuel system in place.

Lucky for us the 5vz is a very stout motor and has good knock control so it doesn't usually damage things quickly but don't be fooled into thinking that it is ok, far from it.

So with colder plugs and meth injection this setup will perform correctly and be safe for our motors without any engine mods?

With meth injection (preferably with pure methanol) you will be fine. It both adds the fuel you need and makes it FAR less knock prone. Also lowers EGT's.

I was running more timing with meth injection and 12psi of boost as it runs stock NA.

I'm not using meth yet just stock stuff, it isn't perfect but it's fine at 7psi. I have seen them go 220k miles supercharged with the stock fuel system, good enough for me. Also being turbocharged my intake air temps peek at 130 degrees which is way lower than supercharged ones.

So can you inject meth into the boost tube or do you need to inject into the intake through the turbo?

Best place to inject it would be at the turbo exit in his setup, give the most time for the meth to atomize and be absorbed.

Also want to try to keep droplets from hitting the MAF sensor if possible.

So with meth and pre-intercooler piping intake temps should be well below ambiant temps right?

Depends how much meth was being injected but that is possible for sure.

How much the meth cools the charge is directly related to how much you inject, you can calculate it if you have enough data actually.

Found a suitable filter 12" long 6.5" diameter and a 3" radial seal, just need to build a housing.
