frustrated - 2002 hood protector?
hey all. my first official post. whippie!
Anywho, i have a 2002 4runner w/ a hood scoop and i wanted to purchase a hood protector, EGR's product specifically because it uses no drilling nor adhesives...but i've read that they don't make it for the 2002 model...they skipped from 2001-2003.
Anyone help? Anyone have a 2002 w/ an EGR shield that works? Or can anyone suggest another type that just uses the existing holes in the hood? Arg...help a brother out, please!

Have you checked out the EGR website? I love my EGR!!!
I bought mine from realtruck.com. I would just give them a call as I don't see a 2002 on the website, but they all stop at 2001.

Here's a site with better prices on EGR. I got the "Carbon Fiber Like" one for my 2002.

I forgot to mention that you specify the year, Make and model when you order at the check out page.
If you don't see 2002 parts then get the one for 2001. I learned the hard way most online stores seem to lack part #s etc. for 2002 Runners.

yea i'd really like to get the EGR. looks like a great product. i'll try calling them.

I don't see any reason a 2001 egr wouldn't fit a 2002. All 3rd generation 4Runner's should be the same. I've got the hood with the scoop and the egr that was on my 1998 hood fit perfectly on the new 1999 hood w/scoop.

Your EGR have any hood nubs or nobs? Ever have any rubbing problems at high speeds or after all this time?
My EGR just screws on with four screws into pre-drilled holes under hood and seems to work GREAT!

Check out my signature. I have the 02 4runner with Hood Scoop and bought the EGR Carbon hood protector. Always gets complements, esp if you have a silver or gray 4runner. Just buy from any of the 3rd generation years (99?-02). oh yeah, no bumpers or stickers whatsoever, simple installation with screws to the underside of your hood.....my friend's gonna get one too
