tell your dad to try to lift a ifs 12 inches and a solid axcle 12 inches and see how good it works out then throw 40's on it. then ask him wich one will hold up in the mud. i personally have seen ifs trucks in a mud bog when each tire was pionting in a different direction. soild axcle equals toughness....at least in my book. but i guess everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I totally agree, me pappy still thinks there is an upside to IFS. I am still going to do an SAS, but I have to put it off for a while.

Possible short some where

I have interesting problem here. Today, while haulin a$$ down the hiway, my oil light came on. I pulled over, popped the hood and checked the oil. Oil was where it always is. So from there I looked at where the oil sensor is, right there below the oil filter, and it isn't even plugged in. I noticed that it shuts off and comes back on when I hit bumps and holes on the road. Short maybe?

I figured out the oil light problem. There is a cut wire where the oil sensor used to hook up. There is no longer a plug and the bare wire was gounding out on the block. Easy fix. It scared me there for a minute. I also figured out why the horns don't work any more. There is a flint like thing on a spring that is worn out. It is suppoda make contact with a grounding plate. It looks like it is meant to wear out. Now that I fixed the horn, I hate the way it sounds. Sooooo, I am going to find a horn from an F350 and wire it up.

My batarded, fullsize rig loving buddy does not seem to think that a toy dont need too much lift to clear 33's. He would like to think that I need 6 inches of lift. I pretty sure not.

Thats pretty much what I told him. Hes just jealous cuz he drives a Heep and a 1/2 ton Dodge PU. I told him to trade em in on a Toy. Needless to say this Chrystler fan got pissed off and quit talking to me.

We got back from a smallish outing this wknd. Twas awesome. Had a few ghostie experiences, really. Otherwise overall good. Wasn't the outing I had planned but my dad and I had fun in my truck. Pics will follow soon!!

I havn't been up there in a looong time. The snow is still pretty deep everywhere. We were going to do Grizzly Lake but the snow was too deep. We are going back up to Bross this week to do some more looking around, smore wheelin, and some gold prospecting.

Mmmmmmmmmmkay, well I think that I want a camper shell. I can haul more gear and sleep in it. I kinda want one that looks like a 4Runner top, but it don't really matter.

Pretty Much. I ran one 8.5 on our 85 and it just looked kinda outta place and goofy. So this time I wanted to run two. I like 'em. I may relocate them to the rear bumper when I put on the camper shell.
