Got the new engine today. Ran a compression test at the yard and got almost 180 psi.

The new engine used to be a 22re. Got it almost all of the way in tonight. Pretty stoked to see how it runs.

Got it all buttoned up today. Thank god thats over. I one of the motor mounts didnt line up, I had to take the intake off three times cuz that heater deal wouldnt seal properly, what shoulda been a couple hour job turned into a nightmarish half day job. The only thing I have left is fine tuning the timing, but that will have to come tomorrow cuz I dont wanna be in that engine compartment anymore tonight.

Timed, cooling system burped and ready to hit the road. Kinda stoked to see how this new engine is gonna be. Next up on the list of to-do's is the rear wheel cyls. I think Im only stoppin on the front brakes. Other than that its gonna be a while before I do any modding to it at all. The new engine tapped me out.

Most definitly. I do too. I really haven't had a chance to drive it yet but it seems that it is so far.
Also: What is the mysterious box thingy under the intake? Will the truck run better or worse if I were to block it off? Jus askin cuz its kind of a PITA to hook up once the engine is in the truck.

box under the intake? does it have a sensor in it along with 2 coolant lines and 2 vacuum lines? or are you talking about something else?

It has a pipe that wraps around to the other side and hooks into the exhaust. It has one rubber hose that connects to a egr lookin deal on the front of the intake.

Ah I see lol. It is a PITA. Especially when workin on the head and the exhaust has to come off. Its kinda like a double exhaust manifold

I went on a little snow wheeling treck with my buddy yesterday. Didnt make it too far up the trail cuz it was icy and my buds 4Runner didnt wanna go any further.

This is where we ended up turning around. The runner just didnt want to make the last 50 feet up the hill.

Also, this chick that I took with us yesterday has a brand new Skyjacker 4 inch lift that she wants to sell me for 500 dollars. Everything is included except shox.

Truck is running soo good. I finally got it right. Had some vac lines backwards and one of the elec plugs wasn't plugged in completely.
Now onto the bigger better things.
