Read that you want to do an SAS dude let me know when, I got two maybe three solid front axels one of them with your name on it. extra asin hubs or warns too.
The 85 is kickin arse. It was leakin oil for a minute, before I figured out what it was. I had to take the valve cover off and reset the seal. The driver side rear corner had come undone when I put it on. Other than that little set back it runnin great. I appreciate ya with the solid axle. Thats awesome!!! I will definitly let you know when I start plannin to do it.

and im totally serious hit me up when your ready, your probably gonna run 35s right? anything above that might be a lot of stress on the 22RE. unless one day you maybe wanted to u[grade to the 3.0 v6 or bigger. I always wanted to put a 2005 or newer tundra motor in a second generation truck. that would be sweet. in the FJ40 were running a 1998 V8 vortec with a 700R4 transmission. just somthing to maybe put on the wish list.

Yeah 35's if/when I do the swap. I don't really wanna run anything bigger than that on this truck. I am lookin into gettin another "for fun" truck thatll be one of those barely street legal jobbers. I would like to run a 4BT Cummins in one.

Hell yeah it would. Any diesel would be sick. A TDi would be killer too.

The only downfall to the TDi is everyone wants all of your arms and legs. The only place I could think of finding one is at a u pullem yard or a salvage yard in Denver.

I have seen that in the research that I've been doin on the TDi swap. I can understand the bogging. Its .6L smaller and made for a small car not a 4x truck. Its jus an idea for now, definitly something I wouldn't mind giving a try though.

You should price a 4BT Cummins......I find 5.9's go cheaper.

Is that the vid of the, I think, grey truck runnin around in a parkin lot? I saw that vid a while back but I can't seem to find it again.

I started on a rear bumper last night. I didnt get very far but its a start. I'm usin 3" "C" channel.
This is what im usin. Its gonna have D rings and a 2" reciever for a future winch.

I also went to a U pullem yard today and they had a 87 4Runner there. Not too much left of it sadly. I needed some stuff for my driver door. I wish I woulda had more tools than I took tho. I coulda used the bucket tracks but I didn't have a 14mm wrench. The tcase was already out of it, just sittin there next to it. It felt tight, minimal play. They only wanted $172. I thought bein in a pullem yard it woulda been cheaper. Needless to say, bein broke as a joke, it did not go home with me. The only thing I ended up with was a handful of misc hardware.

I know it lol. I actually hadn't planned to go to the yard or I definitly would have brought a more tools. It was more like a "Hey ya wanna go to the junk yard to look around at what they got" kind of things. What are ya doin at Wyotech? My buddy graduated outta there about a year ago for hotrod fab and diesel. As for the bumper, I am gonna keep it pretty close to the truck. I will post up some pics as I get further into it.

Right on. That hot rod stuff is fun. I did a year of hot rod down here at our local tech school. It was fun and all but the instructor was a moron.
I am gonna bring the bumper around the side. I havn't really decided on how far but i measured out 19 inches and that seemes like a good lenght.
