Sounds like you are getting closer. Hope smog isnt to bad on you.

Cute girl. I tried twice for a girl and got two boys. The diaper stage doesnt last long, it surprising at how fast they grow. I try and let the boys help when I can. They have an attention span of about 10 minutes. But hoping for 11 minutes the next time.

Maybe she will want to get involved later on.

Nice progress so far man! Shoulda subscribed sooner! Sounds like your gas gauge does the same thing as mine, only, mine sits at about 1/4 tank, even when its supposed to be at half. Its one of those things you just get used to, like closing the door on your seat belt 'cause it hangs out the cab so much, lol.

Good luck on the smog check too! I passed by the skin of my teeth last time, and I still got about a year and a half before retest. Only way I passed was by using low-emission Desiel motor oil, which isn't bad cause you want to run thicker oil with old 22re's like ours.

Anyway, Looking forward to your progress man! Should be getting more work done on mine this friday too

Good luck on the next soft top. Are you still going with the mesh? You may have already answered this: What's visibility like with the mesh on when you're driving? Can you still see things clearly enough to back up with the mesh on?

update. so i went and tried to take the scav to the smog shop but on the way the radiator cap i had found for the radiator was leaking. so me and my buddy had to come up with all sorts of ways to keep it from leaking. we tried a rag then the cap. doubling the rag and cap. using a tremostate gasket i had extra tht we cut and tried to use as a new seal tht fail. eventually i came up with an idea, i grabbed an old busted radiator hose i had laying in the back of the berry for size referance in the future, and ended up taking my knive and cutting a circle out of the hose and put under the cap. then pushed really hard on the cap and got it closed. which allowed me to make a few blocks home to park it i will try to get a cap tomarrow.

now for good news, i started to work on the new soft top design
the pipe i was using has a bend in one end

and i needed it straight

i will weld a patch on tht to make it stronger.

and here is a piece tht just so happens to be perfect for the back

i will wnd up cutting those smaller sections of tube off it.

hopefully i can get more done tommarow.
and here are the girls side by side for a change

I might sound silly, but those are some good looking rigs so far! Can't wait to see the soft top come together! I recently had an idea for the top on mine, that requires a stock hard-top, a sawsall, and some mild steel tubing, lol

Sorry to hear about you not making it to the smog shop. Smog/DMV usually have me more frustrated then a radiator leak. Maybe things will work out and ou will get there in the next day or two.

Looks like you are puttting some work into your next top. Looking forward to see ow it turns out.

heyy got some work done on the top.
here is the hoop.

the black hoops are just temp. im using them to hold my green hoop up
i plan on having 2-3 rods going up on each side to hold it

and tht piece tht went across the back perfectly i ended up cutting to make it match the top of the roof where is smaller then the base

cut 14in out to make the overall length now 44in

also my friend found the cap to the radiator. now i just waiting on a friend to follow me since my tags are expired.

so for a while i have been hearing a grinding noise at fast speeds50+. so i pulled the berry in the shop and tore the front suspension down, found my outer bearing and race on the pass. side was really pitted. so got a new bearing and race. cleaned all bearings and races out. packed the bearings and installed it all. so far so good. i will find out another day on a road i drive 2-3 times a week to see if i hear it.

Im liking your top idea. I can tell I will eventually want one myself.

I need to check and do my bearings myself. That is something that can get put off easily and isnt to bad to do. I imagine you got them done and will be ok.

drove the scav to the smog shop, on the way their we hit the high way to get the cat hot. this time i had no problems with the radiator cap this one was the original one on it and it works great. also driving with a tach is awsome ive never had one on a yota before. love it.

mt speedo still kept sticking but i think i know why. befor i put the gauge cluster in i took the speedo apart and changed the milage some. and i think when i but it back together i pushed the needle on to far and it might be catching on the plastic.

so back to smog. the station i normally go to was already closed so we went to thiis cheap place a couple of blocks away and they said the emisions were great but their was a miss and it was causing the machine to about. none the less i didnt have to pay so yay

but i dont here or feel a miss and i know cause the berry has one. so ill look at it tomarrow and try again. we will see. just gotta hope it works

looked everything over and it looked good but i adjusted the valves.(needless to say i have to redo it hearing some louder then normal valve tick). but decided to go to the smog shop anyways . so i had my buddy follow me in the berry.

we stopped at the gas station to fill both trucks up. GREAT NEWS GAS PRICES ARE GOING DOWN, THEY DROPPED ABOUT .20, so while filling up i decided to have some fun. pulled the 2 pins on the driver door and took it off. i had a lot of people in the station giving me looks as i pulled the door off and put it in the other truck it was great.

then we hopped on the freeway so i could warm the cat up then went to the shop, the guy tht i have to wiat to do my truck had family issuse and wont be in till wenseday so now i have to wait.

2 things,
-my gas gauge works. it just always shows a reading even with the key off.
-my truck seems to have no power.

such as i can bark the tires in the berry really easily around corners and i hit the rev limiter in 2nd gear in the berry.

but on the scav i cant spin the tires, i know its not the tires size because i use to be able to it all the time now i cant, and i cant even hit the rev limiter in second gear. on the freeway i had to i drove with 3/4throttle any more then tht and it was pointless. my rpm's wouldnt even move. and going over a overpass/bridge i could barely keep 60, in 4th. if i shifted to 3rd it would rev up some but would drop speed.

i have no clu
