havent done anything to my truck lately, i have been spending all my time working on my friends 81 yota. just about anything tht can go wrong has. and by tht i mean we got so good at tearing his engine apart. we can do a head gasket swap in 1hr 30 mins with 2 ratchets 1 socket set and 1 set of ratcheting wrenches.

but we finally got it running last night until it broke dow so bad it locked the rear tires up. we tore it apart today to find #3 intake vavle borke off the stem and put a hole in his piston and destroyed his head.

luckily we found an engine for 100. so yea i dont think i will be wporking on mine much for a while.

yea its a 22r. the machine shop told us tht it is a common prblem, what happens is when the rocker arm assymbly is bolted down the rocker arm sometimes sits on the spring and pushes the valve stem causing it to bend slightly. then the vavle opens and slightly spins then closes and bends to match the seat then opens/slightly turns/bends to match the seat. and this happens over and over till snap.

Hello Twisted, Working on someone elses is just as fun for me too.. I only had one lense off of "Tetnaus" and it has a hole in the center. Dont know why everyone gets a hole in the center of them

On mine someone had put them U-Haul pig tail light in and you guessed it, put a hole in the center. Had a heck of a time finding a set.

Will be looking forward to seeing you on yours again. Those 79-83 are good looking trucks.

DMV gave you a run for your money, didnt they. Glad to hear you got Scav legal again. Berry is a good looking truck and should sell quickly. Wish we had California trucks out here.

Sometimes you got to sell one to fix one. Good luck and congrulations.

Your lucky jason! Smog in california isn't only a pain in the butt, but all the equipment required to pass legally REALLY robs horsepower. so simple engine or exhuast mods are pretty much impossible in Cali, unless you off-road register the vehicle which means in can never touch the pavement, BUT you could run open headers if ya wanted to! .

I know all too well how evil the Cali DMV is twisted, lol. What kinda price you lookin to sell the berry for?

That is bad to hear about your axle. To bend it and the shaft, had to be some hit. Maybe something will come along. Anything new on the top you were working on?

You have got to have better luck than last time. You got a high lift, so maybe things are looking up.

stopped by pick-n-pull yesterday and after looking at every single toyota the one tail light lense i found was for the driver side not the pass. side. so im still looking for cheap.

so i started on my battery/intake swap. decide to put it on a differant build thread, to make it a little more organized.

also i decided to save me some work i will do my axle tear down and SAS in a differant thread.
