Terry - cool, so you got Flamethrower injectors too. You wasted no time throwing them in. I FINALLY got my kick panel fuse block out, cleaning up the rust there now, and then I can get the replacement you sent me back in. I'm going to send your harness back to you soon, sorry I've had it for so long. Once I get the rust cleaned up and the fuse block back in, I'm gonna tackle those injectors. Did you need new a new intake gasket when you swapped? I assume so, but not sure.

Flamethrower injectors lol. When I first read that I thought it was some sort of horrific injector malfunction. Lol I know now that its a brand haha.

Hello Cyberhorn...It was fun, just like a kid with a new toy.

LOL Richard... Could sound like a bad malfunction.

Thanks bbrideau... I had seen the thread a week earlier and thought I might of missed the boat on that one. That was when I was trying to find out why mine wouldnt run (hole in the air pipe).

I did see another thread looking for 88 testers. The 88s are a one year only type of injector. They look the same but something is different with the electrical inside of them some how.

Hello Cory... As long as you dont use sealant on the intake, you can reuse your gasket. I have mine off several times or when I clean the carbon out of the Plenums, I will reuse the gaskets. I think even in the FSM it doesnt call for sealant for the intake gasket. I use to put sealant on the gaskets but dont any more. It is nice when I want to just clean it up or troubleshooting to have a clean gasket.

One thing that is suggested when loosening the Cold Start Injector is to replace the crush washer on it. I have reused those and have never had a problem, but if I did have a spare crush washers, I would use them. On the CSI, when you put it all back together, check to see if you have it sealed and it isnt leaking. It will spray everywhere if not sealed well and have had it to leak when finished. Also I dont get real aggressive with the CSI and tighten it down to stop it from leaking and maybe just a fuzz more. I also check and recheck that it is not going to crossthread when putting the bolt thru the banjo fitting.

No hurry on the harness. I have one good harness and another one that is bad as well. That one is just going be used for the connectors on it. Later on when you get the chance, I would suggest checking to see if your connectors are all good. You might be surprised what might need replacing.

I concur on the gasket question, do you guys know how many times I've taken mine apart, so far so good no leaks. I've also re-used the crush washer several times as well. Ever time I took off the plenum I had to take those off.

Hello junk4u... I have tried to take the CSI off of the Plenum with the 2 bolts that holds the whole assembly on and I find it easier to just take the one loose that holds the banjo fitting. I always worry that one day the little metal hose is going to break or I will strip the bolt, but like you so far I have been lucky. Wish they would of designed it a little better.

With a chance of rain today and all this week, I wont be painting the 86 Extra cab. Just dont like painting when it is muggy. I worked on my interior a little today. Doesnt look like much but somehow took alot more time then I thought it would. Some progress is better then none I guess. Did get more done but nothing really picture worthy.

My "B pillar trims" are not any good and I will get some at a later time. I still have other areas to work on. My B Pillar metal was blue from the factory.

The look I am going for is that it is supposed to be painted to the interior of the truck and to make it less noticeable. I didnt mask up in the top right corner as well as I should of. Doh!! Trim will hide it or I eventually will correct it.

Working my way from the back to the front. I will do the doors last. The dash is next. I did get the drivers side done as well. Still need to get some plastic clips to finish installing the rear panels as well. I will color the fuel pipe cover when I get back on the interior which should happen this weekend. With the new carpet. I hope to get that "pop" that I am looking for. My trunk carpet will be blue for a while but will get changed to gray in the near future. Probably after I get the seats in and it will drive me up the wall seeing that my interior is still partially blue.

I'm jealous of your headliner. my truck is bare sheet metal on the roof, sucks in winter time letting all the heat out and it is freakin cold here for 9 months of the year.

Hello bbrideau... My headliner has some stains in it and I have tried several things to get it clean. I have removed several headliners in trucks and installed one. I am sure the runners are nearly the same. If I cant get my headliner looking better, I will be changing mine out. Sometimes finding a used one can be the problem. I am glad for the one I do have though.

I do like how my interior is coming along. I still need to do the door panels, kick panels, install the rear seats and button up a few details. My carpet is lighter then what I would like to have but it will work for now.

I got my water temp guage working right, I used Infernos thread https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f116...ge-fix-271152/ to take it apart and just had to give it a good cleaning and tighten up some screws and bolts and it is working great.

I got the short block assembled for the 85 and shouldnt be much longer till I get the whole motor done.

After getting all that accomplished, I have to take a step back. I suspect when I was doing my dash, I hit the AC button and since I dont have it hooked up, I now have CEL #4 and #11. Supposed to be Water Thermos Switch and AC Switch. Yeah!!! Something else I get to start troubleshooting. Oh well, hoping it isnt much.

Pulled entire dash, I need get the passenger side vent done.

As always, great work! That last picture... Dang! The carpet looks so plush... And the seat doesn't look bad either. Really looks good man! I just copied that Inferno thread... Gotta get that fixed. Either that or I'm going to have to add 0 re coolant temperature gauge... Which I do not want to do . Thanks for posting that. Talk to you soon buddy

Dang Terry. That carpet job looks great! Maybe I missed something on your thread but did you just wash the carpet, use a DIY carpet kit or did you order a new one to fit your truck? That looks very clean man. Much better then the average carpeting I used gor mine. Lol

Thanks Cyberhorn...I like how it is plush. I need to get some floor mats for it.

Hello Mark...I my guage works great now. I am supposed to try and fix my brothers guage on his truck tomorrow. So if I can find a few more suggestions.

Hello junk4u...It looks better then what the pictures show. I am pleased at how well it is turning out. I got alot of time involved it.

Hello Richard..I got the carpet from stockinteriors.com It is about 3 inches wider all the way around. It has the forms pressed into it and has great insulation on the back side as well. Trimming takes some patience and time. It is great carpet, but has to be trimmed and that can make you nervous. Easy to take a little off at a time instead of too much.

I was looking at my 3rd gen and the dash is dark gray and the carpet is lighter gray, so I am going to be okay with how it is matching up. I got the pieces finshed up to compete the dash.Really happy with how from the front seats forward is about as new as I can make it.

Next is putting the backseats in and finishing some trim around the rear seats area. The last will be the doors and will be awhile till I get the trunk area done.

I helped my brother get his tow hitch on his truck today. He has done alot to it getting it mechanically sound. He gets alot of looks in his stepside truck every time we are in it. I need to get some pictures of the difference a Webber and the stock carburators are on these trucks. Webbers clean up alot of hoses underneath.

We are getting rain all week. Was going to get paint today but that is on hold til better weather comes. My 85 is going to be in the way of painting so instead of trying to move it around on dollys, I will have it moving on it own power if all goes well. Getting the motor put together. Cleaning all the threads and a few parts is slow going. Hoping to get it running by the end of the week. If I get the motor done, it should go quick after that.

Last of the dash parts.
