Mine is 24"x16, my application called for a 14" fan. With the addition of the shroud, a 16" fan was to big. I had to go shorter since I'm moving the radiator forward and had to stay above the frame crossmember. To make up for it being shorter, I went 2" wider.

I order some parts last night. I ordered a double roller timing chain set, a gear puller, and a universal set of silicone radiator hoses from Jegs. I also order some Synergy hood pins that bump530 told me about, I got those from Poly Performance.

 

Good reason why you went with a 14" fan lol. I'm curious to see how you mount it all up. It took me forever to decide on mounts, but I tend to overthink everything lol

 

I havent got a clue how I'm going to mount it, lol. The radiator doesn't have any mounting flanges on it, so I bought a universal mounting bracket that fits the radiator, but almost seems like it going to complicate the installation. I'm about ready to take to a shop and have them weld some mounting flanges on it, lol.

 

looks like you got your work cut out for you there. I cant wait to see more progress on it. BTW your rig is looking as clean as ever!

 

Looks like a nice radiator. Always nice when the parts come in. Means you are one step closer. Closer to you never know, but still one step closer, lol Been there many times myself. Looking good.

Thanks Terry, I should receive the rest of the parts I ordered tomorrow, I did get my hood pins today, I'm really happy with them, they look like some very nice quality parts.

On a side note, we got our tax return today. I've been cruising CL looking for a work truck. I don't have alot of money to spend, so it's kind of hard to find something that doesn't need alot of work. I came across a 79' F250 pickup. It's 2wd, has a 460, and auto trans. It was advertised as a "farm truck" that runs and drives great with no mechanical issues. It was 2 hrs away from where I live, but close to my parents house, so I called them and had my dad go look at it for me. My expectations werent very high beings it was just an old farm truck.

You dad called back later to report his opinion of the truck. He said if I didn't buy it he would! The truck belong to the ladies grandpa, it still sports the original white paint in good condition, no rust or dents. Looks like all the chrome trim was in tact and in good condition. He said he pumped the gas pedal 3 times and the engine fired right up. Sounded really healthy, didn't smoke. She's asking $800 for it. I'm going to check it out on Wednesday, hopefully I'll be driving home with it, if so I'll post up some pics!

The early fords were my favorite trucks. I like the 74-76 just for the grill but all are some of the greatest looking trucks in my opinion. Sounds like a great deal. They are out there every once in a while. Easy to work on too.

 

Hello Terry. Well I ended up buying the 79 Ford. Its fresh off the farm with 125,900 original miles. The truck belong to the ladies grandpa for as long as she could remember, he had bought it from his sister, it was originally a California truck. I drove it home last night with no issues. The truck ran like a top, lots of Powe, shifted well, brakes and steering worked nicely! Overall I'm really happy with it! I agree with you Terry on the grill, I prefer the 74-76' grills over the 78,79' grills. I might try to find one to swap in, I would have to find a set of round headlight buckets too. Anyway here's some pics, there are a few dents here and there (to be expected of a farm truck) but no major rust!

That truck looks solid and looks unmolested. That is a great score on that. I will have one someday. I remember using many of those doing farm work then cleaning them up for the weekend. Great trucks.

Just been working and staying busy. My 4runner is down, needs a timing chain set replaced, I have the parts, just need to find the time. Now that I have the pickup, I won't feel so overwhelmed to get the 4runner done, I can just take my time, and get my new radiator put in while I'm at it. How have you been?

 

So you're going to put the 460 in the runner, right!??

Nice truck! I had a bumpside highboy for a few years that I loved. Never would have sold it but I had to move.
