Yeah, I know its not that best mileage, I was hoping for better, might have to go propane injection! What mpg does your runner get with the supra motor?

For your next project I'm thinking BB powered 1st Gen blazer or bronco? Maybe a scout? Any of those would be pretty sweet!

Hey Flea ... Hmmmm, did Ed mean, 'going full propane'..... No? Ian(IRAB) was talking this conversion pretty seriously on his 22RE.... I think he's got other plans now that he's gone SICK ARSE R151F WITH SUPER DUPER T-CASESSSSS AND TRIPLE STICKS! hahaha.... But can't be sure. Not TOO uncommon anymore... BUT, I'm not sure how it's done exactly on these.

What year 302 is this set up, Ed?

well done, you got it on the 1st guess! problem is finding a 1st gen blazer thats not a milliion bucks and rusted clean through

15 mpg would be impressive for a carb'd v8, you don't do a v8 swap for fuel economy haha
i get 19 mixed and as good as 22 mpg on the highway but mine's definitley not a power-house, when i'm fully loaded i still have trouble holding the speed limit on hills.

Sorry about the confusion, yeah I meant full propane conversion, are primary source of heat this winter is going to be propane, they quoted us $1.98/gal...man if I could fill up the 4runner fir close to that price I'd convert it in a second!!!

Hi Mark, I'm not sure on the year of my motor, I asked the PO when I bought the pickup, and he also wasn't sure. I've considered maybe picking up an H.O 5.0 out of a mustang someday (since you can buy the late 80's early 90's stangs pretty cheap) and then I would have fuel injection and probably get better mileage, but to be honest, the wiring is a little intimidating to me. I hear the propane systems are pretty easy to wire up, plus I like being different, lol.

Yeah, I think I'd be OK with close to 15...but 19-22 sounds a lot better, lol...

I love first Gen blazers, I always wanted one, I've had a 73' with the full convertible top and an 83' on one ton running gear and 38's ( back in the day when 38's used to be considered big, lol) sounds like it'll be a cool winter project, hope your able to find one!

No, i just want to run my 302 on propane, I still need to research it a lot before I get to serious, and make sure its cost effective. If I was to do it, it would be a ways down the road. I did a quick Google:http://www.gotpropane.com/p11.html

Nice, I like how you dream big! That 502 comes with a BIG price tag though, lol... I wonder how much more a 572 would cost, not that you'd need anything bigger, lol.

Thanks Richard, I forgot to take some pics of the inside, the entire inside walls and ceiling is knotty pine tongue and groove boards, I love it! I can't believe the rent is $550 a month, A lot more affordable than where we moved from!!!

Oh wow I guess its true what hey say about the area you live in. CA. Is expensive to live in. I pay $675 rent for a small studio. Dang that's an amazing price for a place like that man. Almost makes me want to move out of state in the future lol.

Wow, GREAT looking 'Safe and Wilderness Friendly' Pad you found there! You plan to buy it? MORE PICS!!!! Maybe start a thread, if you don't mind sharing, of course. lol.

I'm on my way... My tent should fit under that carport ... You'll just have to move one of the rigs, k? lol.... BTW.... Have you thought of paving it? Would they letcha? Not tooooooo pricey.. But yeah.... doing it to a rental? Not always wise.

Richard...... aint it the truth? And where you are, it's WAY cheaper than most areas of L.A., buddy... trust me. Even down the hill, near Norm's where we ate that one time? 875$ or so for a single... And it's not 'plush real estate' or anything..>> it's just NEAR some, lol. 675$ is NOT BAD, actually. But YEP, I hear ya on how much cheaper it is elsewhere. PHOENIX, I had left Lomita, CA apartment, 1bedroom(big, but still 1bdrm.), 875$ a month.... IN 1997!!! Moved to PHX into a GREAT area of North PHX into a Luxury Apt. 1bdr. for 450$..... Upgraded to a 2bdr. for another 45$ a month!!! hahaha. Overlooking the pool, bbq's everywhere, parking for 2, .... IT WAS INSANE! HALF THE PRICE! YES, it was PHX.... but it was booming at the time, ... yet I figured, "Hey, I'm putting myself through college.... I need as cheap of rent as possible without living in TOTAL Ghetto areas".... PHX, AZ was it.

wow 80k for a home? Damn how nice.even the homes out here about 2-3 hours drive away from Los Angeles out in the middle of nowhere cost more. lol That is my exact motivation for going back to school. I want to be able to afford a nice looking property something like what Ed is renting. Dream house would be a good 3-4 bedroom house with a huge yard for my dogs, and a nice big garage for all the work on the good ol' truck. Start my 2 year classes sometime next year for surgical tech. gotta love the blood, guts and stuff lol

BTW Ed that place doesnt have a garage?
