But as of right now the next thing on the list is gonna be my air sensors and the Fan Shroud that i should be getting in by tomorrow. I'll definitely post some pix of those up(if they come in). I'll post some pix of the old/broken/brittle/chalky sensors then pix of the new ones and I'll try to take a short video of how the rebuild job I had done looks under the hood and the exhaust looks and sounds.

Yea i learned my lesson with my toyota corolla. Put a kick ass sound system, and body kit and paint job and rims on it all before actually paying it off. and getting a few of the things fixed. I did it backwards. So now i could care less what it looks like on the outside, for now at least, so long as i know everthing under the hood runs "Like New" I will stand by my truck proud lol.

By the way Mark, I know you've been itching to go on an off-road trip. and i smell one coming in the near future.

My Current nextdoor neighbors aka LandLord's sons have
1) 1993(or around there) 4runner 3.0 as well.
2) Some Jeep Cherokee thats pretty fixed up
3) and A HUGE! Ford F250 Diesel truck. Decked out in almost every way possible i think.
4) their Cousin has a 2005 4door 4x4 toyota tacoma
5) another one of their cousins has a Jeep wagoneer or w/e its called. i didnt pay much attention to it(what can i say; it was a jeep. 'nuf said) but They have a pretty big group.

They mentioned something about going up to silverlake CA. You ever been there before?

Oh I agree with you on that one. Oh hey Terry when I went to the dealership. I asked him to recheck the information on that heater/AC face. So he pulled up some info on an 87 4runner. And sure enough it ended up being a different one then the one he gave me. But... There was no picture on the file for it. So we just went ahead and ordered it without paying for it. So we can make sure that this one is gonna be the .correct one. And if it is them we are just gonna trade for the one I originally bought

Alright guys. You asked for it. Here's some pix and a video Finally. Just for you guys.
1) here is the piece that i had to replace.

New vs old. Same pieces.

2) Here is the one filter iwas talking about earlier. Just look at it. Its so corroded. it looks nasty and all eaten out. You can definitely tell it is a 23 year old piece. lol

Here are both new parts finally installed.

3) New Fan shroud right off the Toyota dealership inventory. =)

Here she is already installed.

4) and last but not least the video Chefyota asked for:
I just realized how bad the sound quality off my cell phone is. the truck was turned on for the video, but you can still make out what i was saying. The sound quality on this video doesnt do my truck any justice when it comes to trying to show you how beefy the exhaust system sounds. I'll re-record another one some time. AND i'll be posting some more pictures of the rest of the dealer sensors that i ordered that havent came in yet when i get them. They should be here by tuesday. yay

Click on the picture to play video.

Dude, SICK! hahaha..... Seriously happy for you, man! (not sure why, my post disappeared that I posed while in AZ... hmm, oh well)........

That vacuum stop valve that was rotting was CRAZY! Nice on the new intake elbow piece Amazing how hard that original rubber gets, isn't it?

SWEET, Richard!

Oh hell yea man. Dude the way u see that vacuum valve is how it is all over my sensors. It's literally just as bad, if not worse. Which is why I had to order the whole cluster of sensors. Ill definitely post pix up when i get the piece in to show you all the difference.

And about u posting this past weekend in AZ, what did you post?
BTW we gotta hit up a junk yard soon. I need to find some new plastic side panels for the back of the truck. And also gotta replace a air container thingy for the air tubes(or vacuum hoses). I just fixed the current one that was all cracked and broken to hell with some plastic and jb weld. It looks like a big ol' low budget fix but it works for now. I wanna replace it with a good one.

So...... I got my new heater/ac face yesterday. But..... one small problem.
Take a look at the new one:

No (red) heater bar, and 2 of the air flow settings are missing. Its just an AC face =(

So now i need to take it back and get the right one. I didn't pay nearly $40 for the wrong one and i sure as heck aint gonna settle on it either. lol
For that price i have to get the right one xD

Anyway i thought i'd include some close ups of the broken one so you'd understand why i want to change it. so here they are:

This one is more noticeable:

Kinda bummed, ... I wanted the same one it came with.. But honestly? I think I like the labeling better on this one? Not sure... So, they sold one with JUST AC LABELS? WTH???? HAHAHA.

Ha! That's what I paid for the face that I got the first time straight from the dealership where the clock was on the left hand side. Then when we got the one that is in those pix I posted and a $20 price difference. Lol

Your orginal one has 5 settings (maroon in color) and the new has 4 settings( red white and blue). You are better off with the 4 settings as it is alot tougher. When I replace mine I go with the 4 settings. The other one is so thin and brittle that when you reach for the controls at nite and accidently bump it, it will crack or shatter on you.

I think your first new one missed a step in the manufacturing process.lol

YO.

looking good.

how much did the dealership charge for that fan shroud? Joe doesn't have one. still pulls plenty of air in to the point that it will suck your shirt to the grill and also pull some washer fluid out of the lid of the reservoir.

glad you are back on the road. very hard to catch up on threads, I have been mostly absent lately, but I can easily tell you are very happy with the progress. If nothing else, it's good to see the majority of the duct tape missing.

I believe the fan shroud costed me somewhere around $95-97 brand new. It was worth it for me. At least I know I'm getting proper cooling now ya know.

and thanks a lot Terry ill keep that in mind when I go to the dealership again today to ask for a new order. I'll definitely get that 4 setting one. That's what i was looking for was that solid Red White and Blue color because I plan to swap out the green lights with the white LED ones to match the stereo face I'm gonna be installing later on.

I want my speedometer and middle dash/stereo face to have white numbers and bright noticeable reds and blues. Gonna order them off the "brightLED" website. It's gonna eventually look like Blakefogt's 4runner build(page 10) if u wanna see what I mean. It has a newer look to it just by changing the color and brightness.

So i thought this would be a nice update to post up. Well not much of an update; more of a recap or checklist of all the items i have for my SAS and 4" lift. See before, on page 1 of this thread, i only posted pix of the SFA. But what i forgot to include were all the other parts that the guy i got the axle from included as a plus. It's partially completed SAS and lift kits he had been gathering the parts for.

So here is what was included in my SFA deal for the $550 i spent.
- Rear Rough Country Leaf Springs (for 4" lift) with some shackles

- Front Rancho Leaf Springs for 4" Lift

- High Steer arms by Marlin Crawler

- Bushings for the Springs/ shackles and front hanger(when i get it)

- U-Bolts

- And last but not least Some 3" Wheel spacers(which i might sell or trade so i can buy some 1" spacers. I dont want it to stick out of my truck too much. I just want it to be the same as the rear.

And thats It. I got my work cut out for me. Gonna have lots of spending to do in the next year or so. This is gonna be Fun
