Thanks for that Will.

But what do you mean by swollen lines? Isnt that only with Rubber lines? Because All my lines are steel and the steel braided lines that came with the AllPro off-road SAS/lift kit

Are you saying one side of the brake pads has pressure/pushing the rotor? If so, sounds like the some of the pistons is frozen. Take the suspected caliber off and away from rotor. Have someone slow press the brake pedal and see if all of pistons push out

Long shot but to properly bleed the brake system. You bleed the two rear and than the front two calibers. Once all that is done. Your suppose to bleed the proportioning valve last there is a bleed screw on it just like the caliber and bleed it just like the other four

Both sides of the rotor were worn out. But the exterior side of the rotor was worn out the most. The inside side of the rotor was worn out normally. The brake pad looked just as worn as the 2 pads on the passenger side that had worn out normally. its just that exterior side. I'm wondering if it isn't allowing the pad to open up again or something.

Toyo. I'm gonna have to try that method out. Hopefully ill see them all working. properly. As for bleeding the brake system goes. I didnt know you had to bleed the proportional valve too! But I did get all the brakes. I bled the passenger rear, then driver rear, followed by the passenger front, then driver front. I will try rebleeding the entire system tomorrow then bleed that Proportional valve. If that doesn't work then ill move to removing the caliper and seeing if all the pistons move like you explained.

Seriously hope I can figure this out tomorrow.

The lspv really shouldn't be causing any problems with left to right balance, in the front or rear. Only front to back balance. So I'm with Toyo, I wouldn't even waste any time bleeding again, just pull that caliper and see if both sides are moving. I'd suspect one side is sticking, or somehow the ears on your knuckle are off causing the caliper to be offset. I don't feel that's as likely as a sticking caliper, though.

even steel braid lines have a rubber core and any rubber line if it gets damaged pinched ect can form an internal bubble or even a blockage tha lets fluid through one way but slowly back towards the MC it might also feel soft from the outside an might even swell or move a lot when the brakes are applied

the sticking piston might also be a cause just trying to give you some options to look at an check

I thought you said you removed the caliper and pressed the brake...? With all the crap you're going through it's hard to keep track of everything I know... Seemed unlikely to me that a caliper would have both on one side freeze, but that they might have machining-bloopered on ya....It happens... That's why I also mentioned the knuckle mounts being cocked or hub loose (which you were checking that one time we spoke)... But, as for the cockeyed knuckles possibility is even less likely.... But could be, never know at a glance. If he dropped that axle out of the back of his truck right on the caliper... That's a lot of weight, I guess it could happen.

Lemme know if you want some SW13B's .... I might be heading back tomorrow for multiple Lexus parts (all kinds of crap broke in that wreck, so I need to head back).... Might as well get the biggest V6 calipers of that store would make you buy new ones because you painted them... By the way, that sale is coming up... December 28th through January 1st... Just let me know buddy... Maybe we could both go down there? I might not have time to stop for those full on, but I would gladly help.

I think when I asked you if it looked as though the Pistons were equally depressed on either side of the rotor, you said it looked pretty much exactly the same... It's really difficult to tell when you have new pads in there and they are fully depress... That's why I was saying to maybe pull out the pad and push on the break with some plastic in there or something. Also mentioned that the lines are only stainless braided... "It's there to prevent damage from the elements or being crushed or developing an aneurysm."

You'll get it buddy... Only a few things could be. Let me know if you need any help.

Toyo You are a freekin genius! I hope you know that man. Thanks for your input on this. I will explain everything after these replies. But Yes one of those pistons was frozen. and actually all 4 pistons were not in sync with eachother. they were all off. So yes caliper was bad.

YEP this is just what i did and he was correct. Though i did bleed that LSPV and it did have some debris and dirty dark brake fluid. So Now everything in my lines are clean. Thanks for your input man.

Didnt end up being my brakes lines but yes one of the 4 pistons were sticking. and the other 3 were not in sync with eachother.

If you did mention it im sorry it mustve passed right by me or i might have forgotten but yea i did pull the caliper in the first place but i didnt remove the pads and press the brake to see how much each piston would come out so they all looked fine at first. but when i removed my brake pads and pumped the brake 3 times i was definitely able to see that all 4 pistons were not working correctly.

Sorry i about not getting back to you in time for that invite to the junk yard. i didnt see it in time.

Mark thanks for the presents. I'm Sure i'm gonna need that foldable shovel at some point in one of our offroad trips. Also thanks for that super bright flashlight. Wow. that is soo darn bright.

Thank you Andy. And yea i just got done installing the stereo about an hour ago. all i have to say is DAAAAAANG! what a huge difference between my cheap ancient Sony Xplod stereo and stock Toyota speakers. My stereo system wasn't too bad because the sub woofer made it sound much better. but damn now that i put that better stereo and some decent 4" speakers up front i am amazed at the difference. My sub woofer set up with your speakers and stereo sound much more better. Thank you very much for that present dude. I really appreciate it. I'm still trying to get the hang of all the buttons and settings without a instruction manual but so far i think i have the majority of it down already. And i didn't know the face changes color. That's awesome. I managed to make it match my Dash LED lights. I took some pictures of it. I'll post them up in my update post right now. Thanks again for those man. They sound awesome!

Glad your getting closer to getting it fixed. Brake fluid over time absorb water. Too much water will decease brake function and can rust the system.

Best way to lean brake fluid off your vehicle/parts/hands is water. It will basically turn the brake fluid into water.

Busy Birthday Weekend.

Hi guys. Well as you know this past Friday was my birthday and on top of that i had many things i had to fix on my truck. So let me begin with the brakes.

Remember where i left off on with my troubleshooting post. i replaced the rotor on the driver side. But there was still a grinding noise was still there. That is pretty much where i left off at. When i got home from my school orientation i ran into my friend who was checking out my truck. He worked for Toyota and was recently laid off. and i asked him to take a look at my brakes and we found that the Inner wall was scratched now. (remember before the outer wall was completely scratched on the last rotor) but this time it was on the inside. and we found that my rotor was actually rubbing on the caliper itself. NOT THE BRAKE PADS. This was odd because i didnt have this problem with the old rotor. So I now had 2 problems on my hands. 1) the rotor rubbing on the wall of the caliper, and 2) irregular wear and tear on brake pads.

I jumped on Yotatech and after reading your replies and Toyotech's recommendation to remove the caliper and check all 4 cylinder I did that. I removed the caliper and pressed on the brake pedal 3 times but i couldnt really tell if they were off with the brake pads there. So i pushed the cylinders back in, removed the brake pads, then put the caliper back on. When i pressed it 3 times i noticed that all 4 cylinders were off. None were in sync with each other.

As you can see one of the pistons on the side that was causing all the wear in my rotor is still pretty much pushed in. The other 3 are all pushed out at different lengths. So this confirmed Toyo's theory. The caliper was bad. Considering i didnt want to bother with rebuilding the caliper i decided to just swap this one out for an Autozone one. when i put it back together and bled the line i found that the rubbing was still there. i didnt even have the brake pads on at the time. Then as i turned i saw that the rotor was rubbing on the same area as the previous caliper.

Here is where it rubbed:

There isnt very much space on either side of the rotor to the caliper walls but either way it should not be rubbing. So I call called my girls uncles shop and explained to the them that i must had gotten the wrong rotors because these definitely wern't the same as the ones all-pro provided to me in the kit. So they told me to come in saturday morning and they would help me out.

So i removed the driver rotor and took my passenger one to him as well. Considering the rotor was only rubbing against the caliper wall about half of a 1/16" we just machined the inner wall of that rotor(obviously at no cost to me because this was their fault). After Machining the rotor i brought it back home and installed the rotor and It fit like a glove. It was still close to the caliper wall but it didnt rub at all anymore.
Actually here are some pix of faby took. Just for the hell of it. She kind went picture crazy but i think thats what made it fun. Gotta say that 75 degree weather that we had yesterday was pretty nice too. perfect weather to work on the truck.

After we finished this job we bled the brakes then test drove the truck around the block a few times stopping every few feet testing the heck out of the brakes. And it seems to have worked! The truck does not swerve to the left when i brake anymore. i dont hear any rubbing noises of the pads or the caliper on the rotor. And i have a nice tight brake pedal again. NOthing better then to feel that firm pedal. I like to know my brakes are working. We then drove 12 miles away to fabys house to drop off some food for her mom and we took the streets to make sure we tested the brakes and once again the brakes felt good. After that we drove to Mark's (chefyota4x4's) house to meet up with him for my birthday gift. And i got a pretty cool foldable shovel for our offroad trips together. One never knows when we'll need a shovel when we get stuck. so this was perfect. He also included a super bright LED flashlight. That thing was really bright. And best of all is that it runs off 3 AAA batteries. Thank you again Mark. You didnt have to get me anything it was very thoughtful of you. After that we went to Norms restaurant to eat dinner Had some steak, veggies, onion rings, and baked potato. Mmmmm i want some again.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Today i was going to install the knock sensor but considering i had 3 hours before the sun went down i didnt want to start something i was gonna have to let sit to finish another day. So rather then let a perfectly good day go to waste i remembered i had Andrew's (Red_Wagon's ) JVC stereo and Pioneer speakers. So i installed them today. and boy do i gotta say WOW what a difference. I didnt have anything special before this. All i was running before was a cheapie Sony XPLOD stereo with a broken CD player and a starting to mess up AUX input. Only thing to be proud of was my amp/Subwoofer. lol The sub was the only thing that made my system sound decent. But with cheap stock toyota speakers there was only so much that i could turn up the volume. So I swapped in these awesome 100watt pioneer 4" speakers and his stereo.

I cant believe what i have been missing out on man. I had been so conservative with my $$$ due to upgrades, and repairs to the cars that had totally forgotten about getting the truck a decent stereo system. The thing sounds awesome. And best of all NO cracking sounds at high volume! woot. Now i can tune out those A-holes that pull up next to me with their annoying rap music and tone them out with my heavy metal/hardcore music! Nothing better then a big ol' monster truck pulling up next to your low car blasting some loud metal!

Best part about it is that this stereo has color changing oprions. So i was able to match the color to my White LED dash lights. Woot Woot!
Here is the finished job.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And As far as friday went. I had a blast guys. I really did. After messing with the brakes. Faby told me to make sure my brother, his girlfrind, and our dad were getting ready. Told me to pick up my cousin and meet her at her house. Just told us to come on an empty stomach and dress nice. So we drove to Faby's house and from there she said that my cousin would hop in the car with her and my dad had to drive my car. Then she pulled out a white bandana which she used to blindfold me. So apparently everybody was in on this lol but i just went with it. We drove for what seemed like almost 40minutes until we finally arrived at a TGIF restaurant in West covina CA(i still didnt know that at this point). while i got out of the car i had my cousin Roxy and girlfriend Faby hold on to my arms and escort me(Still blindfolded)

Went through a few sets of doors, and heard lots of people talking and food sizzling, smelled lots of great food, then they took me to this table where i would soon find out to my surprise find, a bunch of my close friends, and family sitting at for a surprise birthday dinner. Boy was i surprised! You can see faby holding up her finger here telling people to "shhh" lol

It was a nice surprise and i definitely didnt expect that lol It was My dad, Little brother, little brothers girlfriend Sarah, Cousin Roxy My best friend, our friend tony and his wife Alex(wife is Faby's best friend) Our friends Bryan and David, My drummer Matt with his girlfriend Julie, My guitarist Chrism with his girlfriend Christina, and myself and Faby. Mom would have came but she was at work. Same with my oldest brother and his wife. Either way we had a blast there. I had so much fun. Apparently, from what the guys tell me, Faby had been planning this surprise dinner for me since monday. Im surprised she was able to get everybody together at such short notice. These guys all got me a bunch of drinks. And although i didnt get drunk i sure was feeling tipsy lol For dinner i had Lobster tail with butter dip, rib-eye steak, baked potato, vegetables. Blue moon beer and a couple of margaritas

We had a blast. couldnt have asked for a better birthday. I normally throw one party once a year. And usually throw myself a birthday party at my parents house. Ive been doing that for almost 7-8 years. I dont usually throw parties but when i do i make sure it is a really good birthday. Something that people will remember. But this year thanks to all the repairs on brakes, and knock sensore, paying off the front bumper, christmas gifts, and Faby's birthday gifts(dec 5th) i was really low on $$$ so i told everyone i would just be staying in this year. lol I'm assuming that was Faby's que to get everybody together for me. I definitely appreciated this dinner.

Here's Faby's collage of photos

picture from my view. And my buddy cesar always making funny faces at the camera hahah!

Awesome job man! At least for now you should be ok... Let me know if in the future you want some stuff at the yards. I'm down to go with you!

Really stoked for you that you had a good time in the surprise! I've always really enjoyed it that people would go out of their way like that to do something of the sort for me. Its been a long time since I had one of those and now that I see yours, I'm hoping I can get a surprise party one of these years coming up! Lol. Very cool of Faby!

Dude, you almost have no time left... We have to go wheeling!

PS: RIGHTEOUS of Andrew! I forgot about that! Sweet tunes!

That's right, y'all gotta come on up here!

That was pretty awesome of Faby, your friends, and family. Happy birthday

Just out of curiosity, what application did you ask for when ordering the new rotor?

Faby finally got her "new to her" car. It's a 2005 Scion tC RS1 (Release Series 1.0 edition). Its really nice. I actually like it for myself. Lol woot woot congratulations to her. She deserves it.
Only downfall is that it is a salvage title(head on collision but has since been fixed) But it looks clean so its okay. 78,000 miles on the odoodometer its automatic like she wanted. New-ish tires with lots of tread left. Passed smog so she's good for 2 years. Guy was asking $6500. She got it in $6000.
My only concern is that the car makes a weird noise. Almost like something is loose. It only happens when the car stopped at a stop light and stop sign. But goes away when you drive. Not too sure but were gonna have to get that checked out. Might just be a loose motor mount or something. We're gonna give it a tune up some time soon but also going to take to our mechanic (the one who rebuilt my 3vze) and have him do a thorough check on it. Hoping it all comes back fine. We'll probably take it this friday.

Glad to hear you got your brakes fixed, that's gotta be a weight off your shoulders! I had to laugh when you said you were glad to finally get rid of your "cheapie Sony Xplod" stereo, I just put one in my 4runner, lol! It was free tho, and the CD player and aux input still works, so as long as I got music it's fine for now, ha, ha. I like the looks of your white LED lights, that's cool that the JVC matches! I'm want to do the LED dash gauge light swap someday,(but I want to do the SR5 gauge swap first) again Nice work as always!
