I think when taco and 4runners go LT they use tundra axles.

For my 4runner and basically older pre 95 Toyota LT will use t100 axles

A LT tundra will have to use custom axles which any LT company will have and sell with their kit

Congratulations on getting your windows working. You are going to be an electrical guru in no time. You have learned alot of electrical lately. The cigarette lighter is a weak design. I only use mine to power Garmin or phone chargers or the fuse will blow easy. I seen you got it it fixed.

Getting the dash apart wont be so bad the next time for you either. I updated my SR5 guage post for you on the 88 Runner build. They are interchangeable with non SR5 guages. Just make sure you have the correct sender. I prefer the guages with just the horizontal lines for changing mileage. They have a smooth shaft that make taking the needle off easier for correcting mileage.

The cross hatched face guage has splines and you can break the needle getting it off. I have corrected the mileage on them but I make sure I have a spare needle handy when I do. The needles are not interchangeable between the different guages.

Truck looks great and good job on the power windows! I was camped up in Big Bear the same weekend you guys were there. We just took the two rig out on the easy fire roads though.

If you find a guy that does good work on the AC let me know! That's one of the many projects on my list; get the AC working before Tierra Del Sol this year.

Hey bud,...."Charlie Cools".... I'm not sure if Richard is going to use him or not, but from our last conversation, I believe he is..... He did all off the air conditioning systems in the Toyotas throughout the South Bay , throughout the 80's and into the early 90's. Toyota didn't do their own air conditioning at that time. I don't remember the whole story, but I know that he did, with a team, several thousand pickups and for runners. Now, granted, we are talking 25 plus years ago... But trust me, the guys a freaking encyclopedia, and it's just a great visit, even if you don't wind up using him, just being able to pick up his brain for a while. He's a really good guy, and make sure that you mention mark, the guy with the lifted red mid 80's 4 runner. I was just there the other day...... If you go there, just wait until you see the sick hot rods they are restoring there! I might be able to meet you there if you can let me know enough in advance when you're going.

There are lots of places you can go, I'm sure there's some honest places that might be even closer to you. So, obviously check around or maybe even ask in your build thread or something? Just throwing it out there.

Hi Terry. Thank you been using it for the past week and it has worked like a charm. Only thing i dont understand is that the door lights dont turn on. I know one is blown for sure but one is definitely a good bulb and neither side is working.

Electrical guru lol I've got a long ways before i reach that point. hahaha
Btw thanks for the speedometer link on pg8 of your 88 truck thread. I'll let my buddy know about that whenever we find a truck at a pick your part.

What a bummer would have been nice to have ran into you out there. Tierra Del Sol Kicked my butt this past year so i would like to have it for then too.
For the AC place i had planned to go where Mark(chefyota) took his truck to.

Lately I've been looking over a bunch of parts for the near future plate bumper that i plan to build. Still on the researching phase but this project is going to skyrocket once i have all the material and knowledge i need. So far what i have looked into I've found that this bumper is definitely going to be more costly to make and definitely more complicated due to the fact that i want to run a winch and incorporate 4" off-road lights/fog lights into the actual bumper followed by 2 off-road lights on the top center part under the grill guard.

One thing is certain. I can not even begin my project until i have the following:
- Front Bumper Frame Support [because "The factory frame is only .090 wall material. This plate requires welding, but strengthens the mounting surface by 150%"]
- Winch Plate [to build my bumper off of and mount the winch to]
- 4" LED off-road lights [so i know where i'm going to mount them onto my bumper]
- Winch [so i can build the whole bumper around it while still not totally blocking it in in case it ever needs to be removed.
- Center Grill Guard probably wont cost me more then $35(havent looked into it yet)

Pretty much need everything before i even get started.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As for what i have looked into this is what I've found:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
***Winches, i am already set on the Smittybilt Xrc8 8000lb winch with synthetic rope. for $449
Name: SmittybiltWinch_zps30f407a8.jpg
Views: 83
Size: 15.1 KB
The reason i chose this is because Smittybilt has great products. they are durable, proven to last, and they are a bit cheaper then WARN. I am choosing Synthetic rope over steel because i don't want the line to start rusting over time. Not to mention it is so much lighter then steel braided line. It cost about $140 more but just that weight difference is enough for me because I already have a ton of weight on my truck. With my whole rear bumper/tire carrier combo and a loaded roof rack. And then another plate front bumper. I am gonna be so heavy. It would definitely be nice to cut back on unnecessary weight
http://www.4wheelparts.com/Winches-W..._PQ=Smittybilt

I have heard of the Badlands winches from Harbor Freight. But for what it costs(with steel line) i would rather pay the extra amount for a better winch that i know is better. I definitely wouldnt want a recovery device to break down on me when i need it most. So this is why i am going with Smittybilt.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

***Frame Support is a must have. Dont want my bumper flying off as i try to winch myself out of something. It's like i mentioned "The factory frame is only .090 wall material. This plate requires welding, but strengthens the mounting surface by 150%." Here are the couple of choices i have.
- 4xInnovations for $30 http://4xinnovations.com/p-1106.html
Or
- Scotty's AddictedOffRoad for $45
http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index...products_id=73

-------------------------------------------------------------------

***Winch Plate. I have a choice between Trail-Gear's and the Addicted Off-Road one.
I really dislike the front look of this winch plate. I dont plan to run a hitch in the front. i dont plan to tow my truck anywhere so it is pointless. It's just ugly
Here it is for $145.95 http://www.trail-gear.com/front-bumper-winch-mount
Name: TGwinchplate_zps3f78a78a.jpg
Views: 95
Size: 104.2 KB

Now the Addicted Off-road winch plate has much better craftsmanship. I love the way it looks. It looks clean and has style. Has holes for D-rings AND it cost $139 http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index...roducts_id=456

(The Picture link on the website is broken So here are more pix on Ttora.com)
http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=146998

In the end i might just end up going for the Addicted Off-road one.
------------------------------------------------------------------

Now as for my LED lights that i want to incorporate into the bumper i was thinking of going with either of these.

***42w, 2090 lumens, waterproof, and 14 LED's and they are 4.5" So i would still be able to incorporate them into my bumper. They run for $59.95 each. I'll be needing 2 of them so roughly $120 for the pair. And they are located in Anaheim Ca which is super close to me so it would definitely arrive within the week.

Here was another choice but this is a pack of 4 and each is only 27w. These are also 4"
http://www.ebay.com/itm/4pcs-27W-Off-Road-LED-Floodlight-Jeep-Truck-Snowplow-Outdoor-Racing-Spot-Flood-/290913446785?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item43bbcaeb81
I'm thinking of buying the ones in the first link. Mainly because i like the fact that they are that 0.5" bigger. but also because they are almost twice as bright. It seems like a much better deal.

BTW this is what i mean by i want to incorporate the lights into the bumper. I want to go for something like this:
http://4xinnovations.com/p-FB1140.html
Name: FB1140a_zps9c286cb2.jpg
Views: 142
Size: 513.3 KB

but with a bumper style more like the CBI offroad bumper:http://www.cbioffroadfab.com/product...y-front-bumperName: 729CBI4.jpg
Views: 169
Size: 31.7 KB

I also plan to have those center lights in the center of the grillguard. What i had in mind was to buy the ones i link off eBay and choose the flood light option and put those in the actual bumper. Then go out and buy Mark's 8" Dick Ceptic Spot lights and place those in the center.

I'm telling ya i have tons planned for this bumper. It's gonna be hella expensive to make. but its still gonna be cheaper to build myself then to buy a CBI DIY bumper or have one custom made for me. Either way in the end i will be getting a bumper exactly how i want it to come out. No buts, ifs or anything.

EDIT:
This Project is definitely going to be a challenge to make but one definitely worth my time that's for sure.
In the end this bumper is probably going to cost me approx. $1100 - 1250 to make. With all the parts i just posted and about $180 in steel, and welding materials, grinder wheels and sander wheels, and of course all the taxes. for everything i buy. Either way that is what some custom bumpers such as 4xlabs Relentless would charge on just making the bumper alone. with no winch, lights or any reinforcements. So Honestly doing this all is a HUGE savings. There is no comparison.

Just remembered i am also going to need to buy some turn signal lights. at least some that aren't as big and squared as the stock lights. havent even bothered looking but i would like to go something similar to the ones that Mark put on his AddictedOffRoad bumper.

I found these Trail-Gear turn signals for $30
http://www.trail-gear.com/led-turn-signal-kit

Well Scotty Sells them for $29 with addicted offroad
http://www.addictedoffroad.com/index...roducts_id=435

Here is the picture:

Alrighty Gentlemen. I have some great news for ya'll.

I pulled out my wallet and i have ordered all the parts i will be needing for my custom front bumper.

I Ordered my Smittybilt Xrc8 winch with synthetic line off 4WheelParts.com. And i wont be doing a store pick up since i got free shipping. so i'll just wait it out. Came out to $490.49 total

I ended up getting the reinforcement frame support, winch plate, and trailgear turn signals all off Addicted offroad's website. I figured it would probably be cheaper to go this way then to order all 3 parts from different vendors. This came out to $254.66

I also bought my first choice of 4.5 round 42w LED lights from ebay. That came out to $129.49

This all brought me up to a whopping total of $874.64 Ouch
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I havent ordered the grill guard because it might have to be made at a custom length so i didnt even bother getting it. I'd rather make the bumper first then measure how long across i am going to be needing it. Im sure a local fabricator off craigslist can easily bend that darn tube for me for cheap. Maybe even have it done at the local metal store(BOBCO METAL) where i'll be buying my plate steel from. Im sure they do that kind of stuff too.

I cant wait for these parts to come in. Looks like my next paycheck is going to be dedicated to paying these things off. I still need to buy Chefyota4x4's 8" Dick Ceptik lights! I'm really looking forward to this project. Already have the Masonite board to get me started on a prototype.
I'm going to start drawing up a few designs on some graph paper soon; like i did for the rear bumper. But once i get the winch plate and lights i am definitely gonna have a better idea of how to make this work. I hope getting these parts in doesnt take too long though. im really anxious

Hi guys. I wanted to let you all know that I made a new thread to track the whole progress on my front bumper. I know this one is gonna have a heck if a lot more work and creativity then my rear one did due to the offroad lights and winch. So I wemt ahead and juat started another thread before I over crowded this buikd thread again.

You can find the thread here. Please subscribe and have fun watching my progress!

Yay more parts!

Will you put a few photos in this thread of your progress on the custom front?

Really awesome that you are making one yourself. Your rear turned out really well. I bet the front will be even better.

Have fun!

The plate bumper by 4xI is pretty sweet. but they dont make one for 1st gens. most fabricators dont. The only one ive found is the CBI one. But it doesnt have everything i want to include in that bumper such as the lights. Plus it cost a lot so i would rather make my own.
