Yea i removed all the rear glass out of the top on the 85 runner and used a dull pocket knife to cut the butyl tape.MAN that stuff is strong!! Almost stabbed myself in the neck cutting towards myself when the knife slipped outta the seam.Goes back to cub scouts...dont ever cut towards yourself. Also picked up some random switches, cargo, rear wiper, rear window, side pillar 4runner panels in great shape!!

I put about 200miles on in the last week, its runnin great.

Oh wow I'm surprised yours was on there so tight. Thats a good silicone job lol.

The one I got off the junk yard to replace mine came off really easy. Although it would have been muvh easier to get if I had that exploded view that Terry posted.

Glad u didn't cut yourself. I've done that much too many times. Gotteb a deep cut on my finger with a box cutter while working in a warehouse. And also gotten my thigh. Ouch... just the thought brings back the pain. Lol

So for two days my knees been hurting so i went to the doctor and he drained out 40cc of nasty a$$ fluid out of a joint in my right knee. I have no idea how it happened but LET ME TELL YOU that needle was like as big as a mixed drink straw. Terrible experience, hope no one has to go through that...except you Mark!!haha. Wishing you to get well. Knee and Back problems is something that is slow to heal and can be problematic. Hope all turns out well for you on that. Getting older is for the birds.

HAHA That sucks for sure. When I had mine drained, the fluid looked like moldy grape juice with blood in it. hahaha

Knee is feelin better. Went back to doc and he says just take it easy on it. Dunno if i posted before about my LED bulbs but i used super white, it greatly improved the heater and ac control panel and the cluster is brighter but almost like the PO put a colored layer over the gauge panel. Ill post some pics and a good description on how i did it. Super easy.
Finally got some freezing rain and sleet so the streets are like a skating rinkk today. My worn out BFG AT's aint cuttin the mustard as far as stopping goes. I like driving in snow better than ice.
Me and my brother are going to be doing a new build soon. My 87 reg cab on his 85 runner frame. It will have a 4spd with top shift tcase out of a donor 82 truck. Were also getting the lift off his 84 ex cab and be doing high steer. I think we will be using a 22r but theyres a possibility of a 4.3 with 700r4 and np205 tcase. This will be a trail rig so im excited cause we can wheel the hell out of it. Theyres also a group of guys with heeps around here who think heeps are the only thing that can climb.I cant wait til we getta wheel with them

Hope the knee gets better soon. I would like to see the looks on their face when your Yota does beat them on the trail. A friend of mine is big on Jeeps and he even admits the Toyotas are suprising as to what they will do.

Post a picture of this beast! I must see it!.
Btw at least you're making your own rig. We call those people Mall Crawlers out here in Cali. People that spend all kinds of koney but have no clue what theor truck is capable of and don't know the first thing to working on their own rigs.
Money doesn't buy you the satisfaction of knowing you did all the work yourself. Actually doing everything on your own is the only thing that can give you that feeling. Plus if anything ever broke down in the middle of no where he would be screwed. You would at least know well its just a simple thing-a-majig here, move this, lets wrap that, tighten this, and voila lets go go gooo! Youll be on your way laughing as you see him in your rear view miror.

So True!!!

I saw a Lifted 4 door jeep yesterday when coming home from the airport. It had to have been lifted 6" at least with 35's or 36's on it. Had all the goodies, Front and rear armored bumpers, winch, Full LED light across the windshield, etc.... It was so clean.... looked like it has never even seen a gravel parking lot let alone the mud or trail. And the rims were some kind of cheesy bling crazy 20's.

Sure would be nice to have that kind of cash to put into my beat down rig.

Your brother was thru this way and got to meet him. Seemed like a cool guy. I have seen some high dollar rigs. What some have into a few parts is what I have into my trucks. It can add up quick. I seen a Jeep the other day that I would of sounded like an auctioneer with the parts I seen on it.
