Thanks for posting the pics Mark!! Today i will be tracking down an oil leak thats coming from the crossover plate on the back of the head. Hopefully its not to tough to fix. I washed it for the first time in over 13 years that helped. Also the alternator was not charging and also making the auto trans temp light stay on. I robbed the alternator off the 85 truck and fixed that problem. Also had to rob the starter too which was bad (by the way auto and manual starters are interchangeable). The back window works with the key or the switch, i still need to go through the lights and fix some faulty bulbs. When i started it for the first time it blew tons of mice remains and nests out the tailpipe then burnt the rest of them out!!haha. The transmission seems to be find but i wont know til i take it out on the road. I still need to replace the l trim on the top thats rusted with kyles. Hes also giving me some more parts including the fuel sending unit. It definetly needs an alignment after the bj lift.

Hey I have another alternator that I bought for my last truck. It was for the 22r motor. That I installed and then turned out nothing was wrong eith my original. My bracket was jist broken. So we swapped tbe old one back in and I have kept the new alternator all this time.

Not sure if your truck uses the same but if you're intrested in it, rather then buying another, I don't mind selling you mine for $30. Its still new. I got it off Pepboys back in 2008 and paid somewhere about $120ish; been a while. And I've kept it stored on the top of my closet all this time.

Just don't know anybody with a 22r motor out here. Let me know.

Really? 22r and 3vze alternators are interchangeable? Thank you man. I'm subbed to too many threads and to try to keep up with each and every one of them is hard lol so thanks for following/enjoying the progress. I'm sure you can see all the fun we've had doing it! You might be subbing to another thread soon because we might be getting another truck joining the toyota family. My older brother might be buying Jred151's 1989 Toyota 4runner with Blazeland Long Travel, ARB bumper, and off road lights in the front. It's pretty nice.

How do you like the Ranchos? And how much lift from stock will the 63s give you?

How would u go about fixing the rust? Are there replacement panels available or do u have to make ur own from another runner? The 63' s outta be sweet. I went with 56" ford springs on my truck cuz I'm cutting the frame frame off behind the spring hangers. I'm excited to try them out but have a whole bunch more stuff to do before its back on the road. What locker are u going with?

The trucks not running right yet so i cannot give you any opinion on the shocks. I got a good deal on them so whatever, i just wanna go wheel it. The 63s are a longer spring than stock and ive never installed them on a toyota or seen it done other than on here in pics but with the right shacle setup it seems to give you alotta droop articulation.

And chevy springs are cheap at a junkyard. easy mod

Its definitely cheaper then buying brand new leaf springs hahaha. $1200 for ones hurts a lot. Plus that's money you can spend on brand new front and rear bumpers.
