Looks good. I wish i had the downtime to get my injectors cleaned, im sure they need it. But my truck is my DD so id have to make arrangements to borrow a vehicle, btw good luck with your fuel sending unit.

If i cannot make one out of the two ill have to get another one, ive been looking on cl,ebay, and other online parts sources and cannot find one.I have found a couple 4runners being parted out but cannot get a hold of the owners. Im going to call some junkyards today. I never worked with a tank with so much rust in it!!

On a second note ive been debating on a spartan locker for the rear or using a elocker toyota with the manual cable conversion. Pretty sure the spartan would be the easier route.

Also am going to install a cobra power inverter with two 110v, usb port, digital readout, and a cb.

Im also going to kyleb's today to try and get the trim off his runners top, is bad anyways due to being rolled and messed up. The black metal trim is what im after.

I wonder if his fuel setup on his 85 is the same as my 89??
I know those sending units are very hard to find. I bet you can make the two wire work , but also bet that the 85 unit is the same.

I like the invertor idea. Where do you think you will install/mount it. I was wanting to do the same thing.

Finding the tank components can be tough. When someone parts a runner, they dont realize how important the tank and its assemblies are. Seen a few make that mistake. I have seen worse tanks then yours, it really isnt that bad. Check your metal lines to the tank assembly and also check your lines from the front of the truck to the tank. I would be willing to bet your return line is clogged. I have seen it on several trucks. They do still run fine from my experience, but it really puts alot of excess pressure on the fuel pump.

Here is the plugged line I was talking about. This one sits on the passenger inner fender. I used a gear oil lid as a funnel.

Mark...Yes the sending units are hard to find, i could make the two wire one work but the wires are busted off right at the molded plastic on top of the sender, could i dig on the plastic to get a good soldered connection??

As for the inverter, maybe under the seat?? Or maybe in the rear cargo area.

Terry...Yes i do believe that line is plugged, i will use compressed air to clean all the lines so i dont end up running crud through the new fuel system.by the way...the fuel pump i got on ebay...have you heard of them?

I have used several off of ebay and they work great. Used on different trucks, lol. It is cheaper to call them and that will save about $5 and you can make sure they get the correct pump for you.

I was riding my uncles new YZ 250 yesterday, he's got a 1.5 acre dirt bike track, but its all sanded up now, it was hard to ride but fun. That thing is crazy fast compared to the old 125's i used to ride.

Love me my 2 stokes. It's all we ride!!

I think I have an extra fuel damper if you need it. ( the threaded fuel line part you have pictured )

Great pics of the boy riding. I can't wait to get my boys out on the track.

I would like to see him race in a 50cc class i think he would be descent if not kicka$$.He also hopped on a yamaha ttr90 and was comfy on it. Proud of him. He loves yotas too and wants one when he can drive.

That's great. Start them young am if they stuck with it they will be great riders. Plus it teaches them so much. How to work on their bikes, take care of them, etc.. I'll look for those other fuel rail dampers if you need one. I have them somewhere amidst the random piles o Yota that you saw. Haha

I love dirt bikes, its nice to beat on em so you can get it out of your system, and then hopefully we don't beat on yotas too much, probably not though.

So i finally got my fuel system cleaned up and reinstalled the the tank with the new filter, sock, etc. and i threw a battery in it just too see if i could run some fuel up to the line at the rail and inspect it and i seen a huge spray come from the tank area. further inspection lead to a rusted out hard line about 6 inches back off the flexible line that connects to pump housing.

I got my flare kit ready for after work...i hate flaring lines on the vehicle

Im glad you guys got it figured out. Shouldnt be too bad cutting and flaring in a new line. Or you could always cut and use some compression fittings. The kind with a nut and ferrule.

You talking about the actual line on the pump holder? Those are commonly rusted up real good. Twisting them can easily be done as well. I am trying to get mine apart and what a pain in the rear without damaging it or it falling apart on me as well.

I think it was the feed line from the tank that's attaché to the body. He repaired it the other day. He's slacking with the pictures!!! Haha
