***quiz time!*** i hope all you mechanically inclined an reclined types out there have been paying attention!!

what happens when a door latch internally fails and the electrical lock fails as well? you cant get the door open an working on the latch requires the door open what do you do?
.
.
looks at clock hmming to myself watching for any use of google on smart phones

please pens pencils down the answer is you sit on yer tush an half to quarter of an inch of travel on a hacksaw blade you cut the U bolt off to open the door. case in point my friends 93 dodge intrepid rear door removed to get access to the passenger front door jam

this is what ive done today.... my fingers hurt now..

Looks like you have been busy. You were lucky that you were even able to get at the door latch and it wasnt behind some metal that a formed over it blocking access to get to it. That would be a work out and about the only I would know of gettting to it.

well got a pair of black magic coils coming for the rear end, used but still in great shape great price too thank you Utah4Runner86

will have to fab up a retainer as PO removed the bump stops but thats not a major issue

'

also pulled the center cross member for derusting its not too bad just the ends where they were up inside the frame mounts (its gona get sanded an painted no need for the tank) the bolts though rusty as all heck

cleaned the Diff aluminum cover an prepped the pumpkin for paint then went after the passenger side frame an engine mount got called inside though guest arrived so more tomorrow, cleaned an started painting the condenser coils the end brackets rusty an not possible for me to disassemble to cook clean. sprayed rubberized undercoat in the passenger fenderwell an half of the drivers side over the repairs now well sealed with primer seam sealer an paint also fiberglassed the 3inch long half an inch wide hole in the well near the drivers left foot

cooking in the tank is the fan blade the metal ring that mounts to the fan clutch is rusty so it gets the cooking also cooking a bracket for the AIS muffler an the spare tire hanger the spare is currently being held up by a bolt an a bracket from a wall mount meant for a flat screen tv... sigh...

found treasures in the side compartments a set of brake pad pins an M clips new in bags also a ratcheting cargo strap and the spare tire hanger some sun glasses (daughter will like those) and some clear fuel line for something likely a mower or chain saw

Not sure why they removed the bump stops, but looks like you are getting alot cleaned up. I got most of my cooker things that I need. I am going to get a different battery charger to use for a power supply as the one I have now has a lot of safety devices on it and cant use it.

Hey terry!
well you can hook a battery up to the part an the charger to that ive seen that work as well

i suspect they pulled the bump stops to get any kind of travel out of it but thats okay its fixable

ANNND new fender arrived got the cup holder yesterday cupholder is very well made! nice thick ABS plasticspring loaded adjusters to fit cups in place snugly (finger is bending one)

the mounting flange on the fender is a bit bent but its fixable the important part, the side, is smooth an unblemished!

well found out my block had to be heli-coiled the threads were just too messed up in that one hole good news it didnt need to be decked so only charged me 50 for the coil an boil applied a black primer to it just to keep her from rusting

got a used junk yard steering box for 65 a bargain! no leaks it gets sand blasted an paint next (gotta pull the pitman arm off mines in great shape so got a spare)

the fender fits took some massaging, the mounting flange had to be fixed first then flattened in places (front end an back near the firewall) to mirror the other side an mount flat the drip edge is bigger along the inner fender by over a 1/4 inch it had to be hammered down a bit to sit right one bolt hole i have to open up a bit as its not quite aligned

then had to put a file through the square insert holes for the side marker i expected this it is a taiwan copy but did finally get a good reveal an depth after adjusting things around

then we had to use a disk cutter on the door edge as it wasnt straight along the door gap like the passenger side the metal was just bigger at the point an thus catching on the fender ill have to smooth the cut round it with a file rub a bit of duraglass along the edge prime&paint

Wow, fender looks great.. You'll suss up the imperfections, no doubt! Great find on the box... I think Redeth, on that day we pulled that one, paid 45$ .... It's a steering box-good deal week for Yotetch Brethren! lol.

I dug a bit into 'engine bay lamps'.... just can't seem to find the one I have, that one in my video? Would like to get a cover for it and paint it up/call it a day/slap it in... But I'll have to settle for painting it up and slapping it in without a cover for a bit, I suppose, lol. BUT, I'm starting to think I'd like to have some on the hood itself, ya know? Lighting up the whole engine bay when I open the hood? Meh, can't make up my mind.... But at least I have this one for now, lol

GREAT WORK, man! Can't wait for more!

Having your motor out is going to make getting your gear box in easyyy. It isnt bad with a motor. You are making some great progress on the bodywork and fenders. Starting to look like a 4Runner. Once you get the motor back, you will have this thing in a whole lot better shape then when you got it. Great job.

i couldnt pass it up kris was at the junk yard getting another electric lock for his intrepid which the drivers side was acting up when the passenger side failed he asked the guy at the counter if he had any newer T100 he had JUST got in a 93 which is where that steering box came from cut kris a deal since the electric lock he'd bought failed
